Location description from owner

The England region

Cornwall is in the far south west of England and is steeped in mining history and famed for its beauty ,stunning coast line , good weather and numerous sandy beaches , The national trust is prevalent in Cornwall with many Castles , Gardens and Stately homes . The Eden project is a must to see.

Portreath

Portreath has a blue hole over it !!!!! so we have been told by many visitors due to its good weather conditions.

It is a very historic village steeped in local mining history with World heritage status. The old harbour is great for fishing and the beautiful sandy beach has rock pools and a natural swimming pool, ideal for a quiet family holiday. There are adventure sports activities on the beach.

There are 3 pubs with inside or outside eating areas ans several other excellent restaurants , A mini market, an award winning bakery and 2 surf shops. Portreath to Devoran Coast to Coast cycle path about 2 hours mainly off road , cycle back in time exploring the mining areas on the way , not to be missed . We have some of the finest coast and woodland walks in Cornwall with Tehidy woods being the star.

We are just 30 minutes from Truro , Falmouth , St Ives , Newquay , Penzance & Perranporth, The Eden project is just 40 minutes away.

“Perfect place for a family holiday!”

Reviewed 19 Aug 2014

This was the second year we had stayed at Bassets Acre and we would highly recommend it. Pam and Richard are always welcoming, friendly and helpful and it is almost like staying in a large family home! The apartments are excellent - very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The girls enjoyed the pool, hot tub and games room. A quick 5 minute walk takes you to the beach where we enjoyed body boarding and walking along the beach with its sandy caves... and up to the coastal path with beautiful views across the coast. Local amenities are all you need - cafes, pubs, shop, bakery etc. A great base for travelling too.

If l were allowed to write my own review this would be it , its good to know you are as passionate about Bassets Acre as we are, a holiday here seams to bring out the best in people , we are lucky to have so many fantastic like minded people staying with us and returning year after year. Many thanks for taking the time to write such a full and detailed review. Looking forward to seeing you all again next year. Best Wishes Pam and Rich

“Kids loved it!!!”

Reviewed 25 Oct 2012

Chose this property due to pool, hot tub and games room for the children and we weren't disappointed. Loved all of it! Children could have spent the whole holiday on site. 7yr old loved the pool and games room. He couldn't get enough of them! 2yr old loved the weebles house! We received a really friendly welcome from Pamela and Richard. They were always on hand to give help and advice. We would definitely come back again. Had a lovely holiday! And hot tub is perfect for the adults!
