Description

Situated within the picturesque conservation village of Portpatrick, in the South-West of Scotland, this luxury holiday home is only a two minute walk from the lively harbour, hotels and restaurants.

This beautiful period property has been recently renovated to a very high standard. We have kept the traditional features but added modern amenities.

The lounge and kitchen are open plan. A bay window in the lounge looks directly onto the beach and lighthouse.

South Haven sleeps six. There is a king size bedroom to the front of the house. A family room with double and single beds to the back of the house and a small single room to the front overlooking the sea.

On the ground floor there is a small shower room and washing machine. From the back door there is a small enclosed courtyard with washing line.

Covered area for bikes and beach toys. To the front of the house there is a paved area with seating and marble table.

The Scotland region

The Dumfries and Galloway region

Portpatrick is situated to the south west of Stranraer, Dumfries and Galloway and is a real holiday hotspot. This scenic harbour and rocky coastline is perfect for walking and Portpatrick is the starting point on the Southern Upland Way, Scotland's 212 mile coast to coast footpath, traversing some of southern Scotland's most beautiful landscapes. Portpatrick is an ideal base for coastal walking , exploring the Rhinns of Galloway, the Mull of Galloway, Dumfries and Galloway and up into Ayrshire and the Robert Burns trail.

Portpatrick

Portpatrick

Portpatrick was once a busy and bustling port, the main port for visitors and goods from Northern Ireland; however, today it's a real holiday destination. Sea angling is also popular here and Portpatrick boasts its own popular golf course. In fact there are many activities in and around Portpatrick, ensuring an enjoyable and exciting visit for our guests.

There is plenty to do in the village, with fishing trips, a sandy beach, bowling green, tennis court, putting green and golf courses. There are also lovely coastal walks - Portpatrick is the starting point for the Southern Upland Way. There is also a good selection of bars and restaurants.

Golfing breaks, walking and cycling holidays, sea fishing, visiting local gardens and estates such as Stair Estate are just a few of the many activities available. In Portpatrick there are well stocked gift and craft shops and Portpatrick harbour is ideal for a lazy time watching boats, including the Portpatrick lifeboat coming and going.

“Best view in the village”

Reviewed 28 Oct 2016

We travelled to Portpatrick for a first visit and we absolutely loved it. The village, the weather, the places to eat, the walks and best of all South Haven! We were there for a half term break and to recharge our batteries and we all agreed that the house had the best position in the village. The accomadation has been nicely furnished and was exactly what we wanted. We even managed to sit outside one evening watching the sunset with a glass of wine. We went to Campbell's restaurant for Sunday Lunch and it was so good that we returned for an evening meal. We all agreed that it was one of the nicest meals we had eaten and extremely good value. The staff were really nice and very efficient. Would love to return to Portpatrick and would look no further than South Haven and would definitely visit Cambells again.
