Description from owner

Description

The cottage is just a few yards from the harbour wall and beach. Walk a few dozen paces along the waterfront and you can be in the Lighthouse Pottery, the excellent Campbell's Restaurant, or The Crown or Waterfront Hotels.

Moir Cottage is an ideal holiday place for families with young children, golfers, walkers or couples who simply want to relax and take in the fresh air, good local food and wonderful countryside, gardens and historic sites in the surrounding area. The fine 18 and 9-hole Dunsky Golf Course is above the village, just a short walk from the cottage. For those looking for more challenges the Southern Upland Way, a National Trust path which crosses the UK from west to east, starts in the village.

Location description from owner

The Scotland region

Dumfries & Galloway has a number of great towns and villages from the coastal communities to the highest village in Britain and the three towns dedicated to food, books and art.

Discover a region where unspoiled natural beauty thrives, from the sandy shorelines to the highest peaks. Explore a Forest Park, ancient wood or enjoy a stroll while watching for wildlife.

Portpatrick

Portpatrick is a part of the world where you can forget the stresses and strains of everyday life and relax into a time that you thought was long past. Take a stroll to one of the local pubs or restaurants and enjoy a drink as you watch the boats come and go, or take a picnic to one of the many deserted beaches up and down the coast. If you're feeling a bit more energetic, there are spectacular 18-hole and 9-hole golf courses above the village, and lots of cliff and woodland walks. The Southern Upland Way, a walking trail that crosses the country from West to East, starts beside Portpatrick harbour
