Villa da Naranja is a stunningly designed, Miami beach style, home with three bedrooms and superb outdoor lounge area, kitchen and dining area. There is a large pool, and the villa is exquisitely furnished, making it ideal for the discerning holiday maker that wants both quality and convenience as the villa is just 10 minutes' walk from the centre of the historic town of Lagos with Boavista Championship golf course just 1.5 km. Internally, the villa has three large bedrooms, including one on the ground floor with a wet room, making it suitable for the elderly/less able. All bedrooms open out to a terrace (the terrace for the first floor bedrooms are absolutely huge) and the villa has views over the countryside to Boavista golf course. The villa is fully equipped with an ultra modern kitchen, satellite TV and wireless internet.

Villa da Naranja is furnished to an exceptional standard, and provides a Miami beach style of living due to the open plan layout of the villa and the outstanding outdoor areas with its kitchen, BBQ lounge area and dining areas around the pool. The bed linens are of an exceptional quality and the kitchen comes with everything you could possibly want for indoor/outdoor dining. The ground floor bedroom with wet room, and disabled ramp into the property, makes this an ideal place to stay for the less able/elderly. Aircon and wifi included.

The ground floor terrace and garden is absolutely superb with its large pool, outdoor kitchen/bbq and lounge seating and dining area. There is a lovely pergoda to provide additional shade (the garden and pool are real sun traps) and the outdoor lounge area makes it a very relaxing place to stay, yet is within just 10 minutes' walk of the town of Lagos.

“Outstanding family friendly villa”
We had a great time at this wonderfully equipped family friendly villa. The children loved playing in the pool every day and there was plenty of sunny and shaded areas for the adults to enjoy. The downstairs games room was a great feature providing entertainment for adults and children alike. A variety of wonderful beaches are just a 5 minute drive away and I would recommend taking the grottos boat trip from Ponta da Piedade ( again just a 5 minute drive) rather than use the operators found in town. The Intermarche supermarket is just an 800 metres walk away and Lagos centre is a 15- 20 minute stroll away. All in all a great choice for a family holiday
“Good villa for chilling and relaxing but close enough to everything.”
The villa is a escape for a family. The games room was a great separate space for young ones to watch tv whilst you chill upstairs. The kitchen is well equipped. The bedrooms are spacious and all windows have great electronic shutters. The pool and villa was clean. It is a good 15 minutes walk to town - uphill on way back! 10 minute walk to Intermarche supermarket which has everything. 15 minute walk to excellent beach. We would stay here again.
“Excellent family villa and holiday location :o)”
We have just returned from a wonderful 2 week vacation in Lagos. The villa exceeded our expectations upon arrival. It had absolutely everything you need in a home away from home. We stayed with my parents and our children - plenty of space and something for everyone to do. We also had extended family staying Luz and got together several times at the villa for meals and hanging out time. They was ample space for everyone and enough cutlery etc to feed us all. The villa is in an ideal location to walk or drive to the many beaches or into Lagos. Our favouite beach was a 10 minute walk from the villa - Port da Mos. It is also perfectly positioned to venture further a field. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time at the villa and in the Algarve - we will definitely be back!! Our whole booking experience was excellent too - Caroline answered all our questions quickly and even returned our breakage deposit within 24hrs of returning home. Tracy and Eb also looked after our queries upon arrival swiftly and sorted it out. As people have previously mentioned you can hear the dogs but to be honest the barking never really bothered us as it is only occasionally.
“Nice house with good location”
The house is large and modern, and has a well-equipped kitchen. The bedrooms and baths are nice, and house has a nice living room and table+chairs for indoor eating if this is wanted. Outside you will find a nice pool, a small garden and several seating areas, so that you can sit and eat in the shadow (or in the sun) at all times of day. There is also a large roof terrace with a nice view, however we didn't spend too much time here. The location of the house is good, the large supermarket is only 10 minutes walk away, the city centrum is 15 minutes away, and the beach (Porto de Mos) can be reached within 20 minutes. All in all a great house
“Fantastic villa - very private and sun all day”
Villa Naranja has everything you could wish for in a holiday villa - and more! It is very well designed and allows you access to the sun - and well shaded areas - all day, while staying cool inside the villa. The pool is on the small side, but great for cooling down and a leisurely swim - suited us perfectly. Would be fab for smaller kids as is only approx. 4 ft at deepest. All the appliances were modern and high-quality, and the basement entertainment room was just brilliant - a few good evenings here! We only ended up dining out 5 of the 14 night we were there since the villa was such a good place to be with a mixed age-group. I hope to return as have fallen in love with Lagos, and Villa Naranja has everything we need! And yes, there are a few barking dogs - this is a residential area after all - but there's only one or two protagonists and it tends to be in response to activity in the road - good security system! Finally, a huge thanks to Caroline who was so helpful throughout the whole booking process, and always quick to respond to any queries.
The villa was exactly as described but in reality it exceeded our expectations. It is in a quite residential are about a 15 to 20 minute walk downhill to the centre of Lagos. We used taxis most of the time. Caroline was excellent to deal with and we had no problems at all. The only slightly annoying issue was the keys were a bit temperamental, especially the the one for the electric gate.
“Fantastic stay at Villa da Naranja”
We have just got back from a lovely week at this villa in Lagos. We were a group of 3 couples and one baby and the villa was just perfect for our needs. It has a modern stylish feel with all mod cons. The outside pool area was great and a real suntrap in the afternoon. The games room downstairs is a great addition! Once we had got our bearings the villa is only a 10-15 minute walk down to the main town centre (harder on the way back with the hills!), 5 minutes walk from a large supermarket and only 10 minutes from a lovely beach. The villa itself is in a lovely quiet residential area - only slight complaint was the noise from the neighbours dogs which barked a lot! Lagos itself is a lovely town which still retains a lot of traditional Portuguese charm. It does not seem as touristy as the other resorts. We ate out a number of times and you are spoilt for choice as there are many great restaurants and we were pleasantly suprised how reasonably priced they all were. Caroline was great at correspondence and I wouldn't hesitate to book with her again.
Response from the manager Thank you for your review and I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Villa da Naranja. I have investigated the point raised re the barking based on your and the other guest in August. It appears that a new dog has arrived into the neighborhood and on investigation it seems to bark when the gates of Naranja are opened (we observed no barking at night or when guests were around the pool, alfresco dining etc). However, the police have been visited on the matter and they have been to see the neighbor. This seems to have met with success since then, as there have been no more instances of barking (other then when the dog is excited to go out itself once a day on its walk). I hope we have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Naranja in the future.
“Sensational Villa, very relaxing and within reach of Lagos on foot.”
Villa da Naranja is a lovely villa with everything you could possibly need to enjoy your holiday. I went with my wife and 2 children (17 & 13). Firstly the villa is much larger than I expected from the pictures / description on the web. The kitchen has all the equipment that you need and it is all in a very good condition. The bedrooms all have aircon which was a must for some of the nights we were there. The aircon is modern and quiet. There is a large basement which features a large screen TV, with a home cinema DVD player, a pool table, an air hockey table and a table football table. The home cinema allowed us to set up for movie nights which the kids enjoyed and my son has finally taken some frames of pool off me. I must have been too relaxed. Outside the villa you find yourself in a large garden with a decent sized pool. All of which is very private and peaceful. The pool is 1.1M deep at it's deepest so no diving / jumping in but very clean and safe. Poolside loungers plentiful and there were shaded areas within the garded, under the gazebo and under the sun terrace which also had comfortable furniture for others like me who can;t sit out in the sun all day. The villa and it's garden were spotless when we arrived and the cleaners / pool attendant both came and cleaned / serviced the villa / pool while we were there. Both were very unobtrusive whilst getting on with keeping the villa in good condition. We walked into Lagos regularly which is about 15-20 minutes to the heart of the old town dependent on which route you took. It's a little uphill on the way back but we managed without using taxis. There are lovely beaches within walking distance (20-25 minutes at holiday pace). Superb supermarket within a 10 minute walk; had everything you would need at reasonable prices. A special word for Caroline who was very patient and very responsive to all my questions before we went. First time in a villa so lots of little queries before we went. Her restaurant recommendations were spot on too. All in all a brilliant place to spend a relaxing holiday. Loved it!
“Very relaxing lovely holiday”
The villa was beautiful and very spacious. We were with our 2 teenage boys (12 and 15) and there was plenty space for the boys (and us!) to have our own space when needed. The pool was their favourite part of the holiday. They had great fun in it for hours. It maybe sounds selfish and anti social, but it was lovely that it was solely for our use. No fighting for loungers, noise level, drunks etc etc. There is plenty of space around the pool for parents to keep an eye on the kids in the pool but still relax themselves. The games room was another favourite with the boys as they sometimes needed some time out of the hot sun. They loved the pool table and the PS3. They also loved the fact that there was WiFi for their phones and gadgets. There was no washing machine when we first arrived as it had broken but a lovely shiny new one was soon delivered and this was great. The only thing we found was the position of the rotary dryer outside was not ideal. It was round the back of the house, not directly in the sun. Some of the ropes were broken and because it was under trees, the birds tended to deposit things on the clean washing! We bought a piece of washing line and set up our own drying line so it wasn't a big deal. The kitchen and utensils were adequate for us as we tended to only have breakfast and light lunch sometimes in the villa. There is a microwave, dishwasher, and BBQ but we didn't need to use any of these. I would say some of the kitchen equipment (cups) and cutlery are maybe in need of being replaced now. The bedrooms were big and colourful. There were plenty of towels for both the pool and bathrooms. The bed we had downstairs was very hard and uncomfortable to sleep on and the pillows could do with being renewed as they were lumpy. I wasn't keen on the feather duvet, but that's probably just me! The bedrooms had air conditioning which was great to have. The villa is within walking distance of the town but it is very hot from 10am onwards so we tended to use the hired car. We didn't ever use taxis at night as we didn't tend to go out for the night life, but I don't think taxis would be expensive if you were doing this. We had a walk through the town one night and there was a lovely atmosphere. Families were out and about, music playing, market stalls etc. It can be cool and breezy at night but all that is needed is a light cardigen/hoodie. Supermarkets are nearby and seem to stock everything. The villa is beside other villas but very private with nobody looking in on the pool. We hardly saw anyone else at all. The neighbours all seemed to have dogs, which tended to all bark to each other at various times of the day, but it wasn't overnight or early morning, so it was bearable. There was good security around the villa with locking gates and shutters for the villa, so we felt safe there. I would recommend this villa to anyone. We had a lovely relaxing time and loved Lagos. We travelled to Zoo Marine to swim with the dolphins and we also went twice to the go karting track. The boys loved this and were keen to go back. It was very quiet both times. We thought most people maybe went on holiday to go to the beach etc, but our two certainly loved this place. My only problem was with the bed and pillows, but this would be easily solved. Booking and communication etc was excellent throughout. When we arrived we were given a contact for a couple locally should we need any laundry done (before the new machine was delivered) and if we needed other information. They were very nice and helpful. Thank you. We had a great holiday. Hope you do too. :-)
Villa da naranja is absolutely stunning. We have stayed in another 2 villas in this street which are gorgeous but this villa just has the edge. It is located between beach and town and is in a lovely street. The villa has everything you need for a holiday. Caroline and team provide an excellent service and any problems you may have are resolved quickly. We will definately book through Caroline again.
