Description from owner
14 Channel View is a well furnished, fully equipped 1920's house on 3 floors offering almost 180 degree views over the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. The Blue Flag Porthmeor beach, St Ives only surfing beach, is only 100m away. The house has been described by visitors as a "perfect home from home" having large comfortable rooms, spacious luxury kitchen & 2 modern bathrooms with showers. All of the beds have good quality sprung mattresses providing that extra bit of coziness whilst from the the 2 front bedrooms and the lounge you can enjoy simply wonderful views right across St Ives Bay. Sit out and have a drink as you look across to Godrevy Lighthouse & beyond. It's a 5 minute walk into the town so an ideal haven from which to investigate the interesting back streets and alleys without being stuck right in the middle of all the action. The ability to NOT being able to park easily is a perennial problem in St Ives, not with 14 Channel View though. We have 4 parking

Location description from owner
The England region
St Ives is a world famous harbour town and resort situated on the north Cornish coast. The colourful Mediterranean atmosphere, maze of cobbled streets and jumble of fishermen's cottages blend with an eclectic selection of shops, galleries and studios centred around the picturesque harbour.
St Ives has been complemented in recent years by an ever increasing range of fine restaurants and cafes further enhancing the unique cosmopolitan atmosphere. Whether you want a pizza from Onshore, an Organic burger from Blas, really excellent fish & chips at the Porthgwidden Café, some lovely tapas dishes at the Porthmeor Café or really splash out at the Alba or the Porthminster Beach Café, St Ives has it all. All are within walking distance of the house which means you don't have to worry about driving!
St Ives Bay has been voted one of the most beautiful bays in the world and boasts some of Cornwall's finest beaches including the famous surfing beach at Porthmeor overlooked by the Tate Gallery. The town offers a host of leisure pursuits including surfing, water sports, a leisure centre with indoor swimming pool, a golf course at Tregenna Castle Hotel, the challenging West Cornwall Golf Club at Lelant as well as delightful coastal walks.
Every year in September, St Ives hosts an art festival, this year is from the 13th to 27th. Guests such as Andy Fairweather Low, Hawkwind, The South (formerly Beautiful South), Kernow King & Fishermen's Friends are so far booked to appear.
The house is located about 7 miles away from Land's End, it's well worth a visit. To make it more interesting you could park in Sennon Cove and walk over the cliffs, allow about an hour or so.
The train from St Ives go to St Erth stopping at Carbis Bay and Lelant Saltings on the way. Birdwathers will find the platform at Lelant Saltings ideal for viewing over the Saltings. Carbis Bay has a fantastic beach with all the same sort of beach facilities available in St Ives. From St Erth you can get the train into Penzance, lots of interesting shops here, also some very nice pubs for lunch.
Going the other way you can get a train up to Truro or go all the way to Plymouth, it's surprisingly cheap! Truro is a lovely city with a beautiful cathedral, all the main stores are here, plenty of local shops as well.
For those who like walking there are miles of coastal and country paths, it's only a few miles to the South coast so you could do probably the shortest coast to coast walk in the UK!
There are loads of artists based in the area, this is reflected in the large number of art galleries all over Penwith, there really is something for everyone. St Ives benefits from having one of the Tate Galleries based in the town, the front always reminds me of the USS Enterprise, I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking this.
The people who started the Eden Project also own the Lost Gardens of Heligan near St Austell which is just a wonderful garden to visit, great cafe as well. There are plenty of other gardens to visit, particularly Trebah which is near the Helford River.
If you fell a bit more adventurous you can fly or take the the boat to the Isles of Scilly and visit Tresco Gardens, probably the only true tropical garden in the UK. It's stunning, take your shoes and socks off and walk on one of the beautiful white sandy beaches, you'll could easily imagine you are in the Caribbean! Red Squirrels have recently been introduced to Tresco.
There are too many other places of interest to mention, theme parks for the kids, surfing beaches, great restaurants, tin mines etc. One thing is for sure, you can have a great time whilst staying in St Ives.
