Location description from owner

The England region

While the biggest draw to Cornwall is it's outstanding coastline; it is also an area filled with things to do and see.

Activities, destinations and attractions are within easy reach to suit everyone and of course, the beaches, are amongst the finest in the UK.

The Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligon, Trerice, Bocastle and Tintagel are just a few of the interesting places to visit. A complete variety of visitor attractions to suit all tastes are situated throughout the area.

The weather is traditionally more favorable then other parts of the UK; summers seem to last longer, often with plenty of sunshine together with milder winters, making it perfect for coastal walks, water sports or just relaxing on the beach.

Cornwall really does have it all covered for the perfect holiday.

Porth

Porth is a quiet, relaxing area with the focus on the large, flat sands of the Beach. It is located close enough to Newquay (a 15 minute walk) to allow easy access to it's amenities and facilities, while remaining and peaceful and un-spoilt haven for families and couples alike.

Close at hand from the Apartment is a beach café, an ice cream parlour, a convenience store and a family friendly pub/restaurant.

A full range of supermarkets are in the locality including Sainsburys, Tesco Express, Aldi, Asda and Morrisons.

A regular bus service passes through Porth, which, in combination with Newquay Cornwall Airport, it is possible to enjoy everything that Cornwall has to offer without a car.

There are a variety of coastal footpaths from Porth, going into the centre of Newquay and out to Fistral Beach in one direction and over to Watergate Bay and beyond in the other.

Jamie Olivers Fifteen is located close by at Watergate Bay with Rick Steins seafood restaurants a scenic drive away in Padstow together with the village of Rock.

Newquay town has something for everyone through the day and night ranging from independent shops, cafes & restaurants to traditional pubs and lively bars and clubs.

Hotels in the area are open to non-residents including the Porth Veor Manor which is a very short walk from the Apartment, while the Headland Hotel and the Atlantic Hotel are in the town centre. A recently opened branch of Pizza Express is a short walk away.

Naturally, the UK Surf Capital has facilities for surfers at any level, with lessons widely available for those looking to have a go for the first time or just to improve their skills. Board and wetsuit hire is also readily available in the town centre or at Fistral Beach and Watergate Bay.

Family entertainment and activities include Waterworld fun park, the Blue Planet Aquarium and Newquay Zoo.

A number of golf courses are in the area, including Holywell Bay and Newquay Golf Club.

“Back garden is the beach!”

Reviewed 24 Jul 2013

Having stayed in several self catering properties over the years, this is the one we return to, Why well it had absolutely everything to offer, firstly the location this has to be one of the best in North Cornwall when I say “on the beach” it actually was a stroll from the patio onto the garden then right over onto the beach, with no road or path in between. Living in a city for the rest of the year to wake up in the morning and look right out to the Ocean was just spectacular in every sense, it was like being in the Mediterrarian. The children loved it as we did too. Furnishings in the property were of first class and loved the idea of seperate wine cooler fridge as well as all other modern appliances. Extremely spacious and comfortable for all us. Our only regret is that we should have booked for 2 weeks instead of the one, as there is so much to do, still there is always next Year!

“Perfect location for kids and true relaxation”

Reviewed 17 Jul 2013

Apartment is lovely, well furnished, comfortable beds and excellent bathrooms with powerful showers. Photos don't do this place justice, it is very spacious. Lift down 2 floors from car park level to apartment/beach level. Open plan living area leads onto patio area which overlooks shared garden (3 other ground floor apartments and some 1st/2nd floor). Garden leads directly to beach, nice beach with plenty of soft sand and heaps of harder sand when tide goes out. Great rock pools. Nearby Watergate bay is stunning as are other nearby beaches. Some are walkable via nearby coast path. Only minor gripes were lack of clean washing up tools (sponges etc), only one dishwasher tablet/toilet roll, not thoroughly cleaned eg rugs, around couches etc. Although for the price I would expect not to have to be concerned with these things, overall I would highly recommend the apartment.

“Five star accomadation and a fabulous setting by the beach”

Fly into The local airport,Newquay,10 mins drive away.Or catch local bus ,as it can drop you off outside the door of this wonderful apartment. The kitchen seems to have most things.Tv's in all bedrooms.Always nice and warm.Again use the bus to go to Padstow, when there, catch the boat across to Rock, lovley walks and eateries. this is a wonderful holiday location. The beach is one of the finest. The sand is very fine and pure. The sea is great to swim in,so clean. You will not be disappointed. Try the coastal walk to Watergate, the next bay, where Jamie Oliver has 1st class restaurant.or you can have surf lesson.

“A perfect place for a family to relax together where every need is catered for. loved it!”

my self and my family stayed in this apartment in august, our children are 9, 5 and 3. from the moment i contacted nigel regarding our booking he was more than helpful. we had a bit of a problem with our ferry booking and nigel was patient and assisted us in every way possible. the apartment itself is like a home from home (but nicer)! we were so comfortable there that we just didnt want to go anywhere during the day and neither did the children, they enjoyed playing games in the lovely garden where i could relax in the knowledge that they were completely safe. for me eating my meals sitting looking out at the beautiful beach while the children played happily was so relaxing, in the evening the children would go inside to watch a dvd either in the main living area or their bedroom my husband and i would sit outside with a bottle of wine and listen to the sea. bliss. cant wait to go back. the mermaid bar next door on the beach do lovely food and they will prepare it for takeaway if you want to eat it in the comfort of the apartment which is what we did.
