This newly re-furbished 3 bedroom/2 bathroom mid terrace cottage is situated in a quiet private development, just as you enter Portballintrae from Bushmills. It is 1 of only 14 cottages with views over green fields, giving a feeling of being in the country. However the town of Bushmills with shops, bars/restaurants & the distillery is only 15 minutes walk. The sea front is 5 minutes walk giving access to the one of the beaches & the harbour. The Bayview Hotel & Sweeney's Wine Bar are conveniently located here for food & drinks. Another 5 minutes walk around the shore brings you to the main beaches, very popular with families. There is also a small shop here. The 9 hole Bushfoot Golf Club is less than 10 minutes walk & is open to non members for both golf & the club house facilities. There are lovely walks from Portballintrae through sand dunes & along a path beside the steam train track up to the Giant's Causeway, about 2.5 miles away. Within a short driving distance is Whiterocks golden beach; also Portrush with shops, amusement arcades and swimming pool. The main market town, Coleriane has supermarkets, cinema, ten pin bowling & a leisure centre.

The cottage is designed with the bedrooms & bathrooms on the ground floor & the living area upstairs to give the best view out over the fields to Bushmills.
Bedroom 1 has a double bed & en-suite shower, toilet ,wash basin & razor socket. - Towels are supplied.
Bedroom 2 has a double bed.
Bedroom 3 is a small room with single bunk beds for 2 people.
The main bathroom has a bath, separate shower, toilet, wash basin & razor socket. - Towels are supplied.
Upstairs is an open plan living & kitchen area, with a large Georgian style window to maximise the views over the fields..
The lounge has 2 three seater settees, a coffee table, TV, DVD/CD sound surround system & an open fire.
The kitchen has a hob; oven; microwave oven; dishwasher;fridge/freezer; kettle; toaster; stainless steel sink; crockery & cutlery, with a large table & chairs for 6 people. Off the kitchen is a small utility room with a sink, washing machine, tumble dryer, vacuum cleaner, brushes, mop and bucket & other cleaning utensils.

There is a shared grassed garden area to the rear of the cottage which enjoys the sun from early morning until about 6.00pm in the main summer months. There is a stoned parking area to the front of the cottage. A patio table and 4 chairs are supplied for outdoor dining.
The beach is less than 10 minutes walk, with swimming & sea fishing available there.
There is also a shared public tennis court in Portballintrae.
A non-refundable 25% booking confirmation deposit is required at the time of booking. A £40 charge for cleaning & laundry is payable in addition to the rental price, when paying the final balance. The final balance, is required 6 weeks before the arrival date. We also request a £100 REFDUNDABLE damages/breakages deposit, payable with the final balance. If there are no damages or excessive cleaning/laundry required, the damages deposit will be refunded within 2 weeks of the departure day.
Changeover day is Saturday. Generally arrival cannot be before 4.00pm and departure must be by 12 noon, unless previously agreed with the owners.
In Summer (July & August) we can only accept bookings for full weeks, with Saturday being the arrival/departure day.
The County Antrim region
County Antrim is one of Northern Ireland's main tourist areas and holiday destinations. There are stunning views along the coastline from Larne to Portballintrae, known as the Causeway Coastal Route and on along the coast from there through various towns, passing a number of golden sandy beaches, until you reach the Benone strand near Limavady. County Antrim is where N.Ireland's main tourist attraction, the Giant's Causeway is located.
It is also the golf capital of Ireland with the Royal Portrush Golf Club being the home club of Darren Clark & Graham McDowell.
While only 60 miles from Belfast, once you arrive in Portballintrae you feel as though you are instantly on holiday. It is a peaceful fishing village on the sea, with sandy beaches, shops, bars, restaurants, golf, the Giant's Causeway and the Bushmills Distillery all within walking distance. There are beautiful walks to enjoyed along the beach, through sand dunes, beside the river Bush, through the golf course, or along the path beside the Steam Train railway track. Within approx. 30 minutes driving distance are:- Ballycastle for the ferry to Rathlin Island; Carrick-A- Rede Ropebridge; Dunluce Castle; Portrush & Portstewart - 2 of N.Irelnd's main seaside towns; and the market town of Coleraine with all the major supermarkets and high street shops, a public leisure centre and the Jet Centre with cinema, 10 pin bowling, etc. A little further (about an hour) is the historic walled city of Londonderry. Belfast, with the Titanic exhibition centre, is only 60 miles away.

"Really nice upmarket "cottage""
We had a very short visit but were very impress with the quality o f the finish and fittings (Eden Pottery crockery for example). Very centrally situated in quiet cul-de-sac off main Port Ballintrae road. Ideal for Causeway Coast. It would have been convenient to have had a Micro-wave but that would be the only ctiticism. Would most certainly stay there again and would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely property to anyone else.
