Location description from owner

The Cowal Peninsula region

Argyll is everything you would imagine the west coast of Scotland to be – and more, making it the perfect place for your holiday.

It’s wild and remote, with hills, glens, rugged coast, white beaches, sea lochs, clear waters and ancient forests. Many of our properties are in the Cowal Peninsula, known as Argyll’s Secret Coast because of its undiscovered charm.

You won’t find crowds of tourists here. What you will find is wildlife, tranquillity and stunning scenery. With all this on offer, your Argyll holiday will be one to remember.

Argyll is packed with places to visit and things to do. Sailor's, walkers, cyclists and artists are all drawn to this area for its natural beauty.

Portavadie

Tighnabruaich is a village located on Argyll’s Secret Coast, in a very scenic area, and offers cafes, pubs, restaurants and an art gallery. The village looks out over the Kyles of Bute and the area offers lovely hills, glens, beaches and clear waters ideal for boating or diving.

Portavadie on the east side of Loch Fyne is well known for two reasons, the first is that the car and passenger ferry links Cowal to Tarbert, which enables exploration of different parts of Argyll separated by a 25 minute ferry journey. Secondly a marina complex Portavadie welcomes yachters and boat enthusiasts to Loch Fyne, one of Scotland's most fanmous sea lochs known for it's amazing seafood.

This area is foodie heaven, with bountiful fresh fish and seafood from the lochs and delicious venison, lamb and beef from the hills. With lots of artisan producers in the area, don’t miss out on the opportunity to try the local cheeses, honey, cold meats, smoked fish and preserves.
