Location description from owner

The Balearic Islands region

Majorca has two mountainous regions each about 70 km in length. These occupy the north-western (Serra de Tramuntana or Tramuntana range) and eastern thirds of the island. The highest peak on Majorca is Puig Major (1,445 m) in the Serra de Tramuntana. As this is a military zone, the neighbouring peak at Puig de Massanella is the highest accessible peak (1,364 m). The northeast coast comprises two bays: the Badia de Pollença and the larger Badia d'Alcúdia. The northern coast is rugged and has many cliffs. The central zone extending from Palma is generally flat fertile plain known as Es Pla. The island has a variety of caves both above and below sea-level. Two of the caves above sea-level also contain underground lakes and are open to tours. Both are near the eastern coastal town of Porto Cristo, the Coves dels Hams and the Coves del Drach. It is the largest by area and second most populated island of Spain (Tenerife in the Canary Islands).[7] The climate is Mediterranean, with markedly higher precipitation in the Serra de Tramuntana. Summers are hot in the plains and winters mild to cool, getting colder in the Tramuntana range; in this part of the island brief episodes of snow during the winter are not unusual.

There are two small islands off the coast of Majorca: Cabrera (southeast of Palma) and Dragonera (west of Palma).

Port of Soller

Soller and its port are about half an hour drive from Palma Airport, and have good connections with railway, tram and bus services. The valley and its surrounding mountain range, the Serra de Tramuntana;, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a favourite destination for people from all over the world, especially those who enjoy walking, nature, ecotourism, swimming or simply a peaceful rest away from the hustle and bustle of the better-known tourist trapsthe Tramuntanas

“Wow, excellent. Great location. Very helpful agents. Marvellous.”

Couldn't have been any better. Very well equipped, wonderful views of mountains from balcony. Lovely and quiet despite being the height of the season and very busy. Julia's daughter even came out to apartment on the evening of our arrival when we had a problem with the shutters. Most grateful for very efficient air conditioning. Lots of equipment, plenty of linen ( including beach towels). Most useful for us as we only travelled with cabin luggage. Information about apartment and attractions including up to date timetables very helpful. View from main bedroom across to mountains was lovely to wake up to. Very efficient booking and speedy response to enquiries. Directions excellent. Thank you Carole, Fred, Julia and daughter for a wonderful holiday. Will recommend highly to our friends. Hope all goes well for you and would be lovely to visit again. Warmest regards, Sue, Irene and Susan

Owner's reply: We are so happy that you liked Cana Carolina .our "friend" like yourselves make Cana Carolina home for all . Julia and there family work hard to maintain the high standards we and they set. But the jewel in the crown is port de Soller . Agian thank you .carolina

if you want a pretty resort that's quiet with good restaurants a lovely beach and very low night life then this is for you and Cana Carolina was the perfect spot.

Owner's reply: Your are right about Port De Soller. The late Michael Winner loved this area of Mallorca for its restaurants, saying it was even better than London ( Sunday Times ) . I do hope you come again we plan to do a restaurant guide for the port sometime next year. Yours Freddie and Carolina

Had a wonderful ten days at Ca'Na Carolina. Home from home. Didn't want for anything. From the warm welcome we received from Jutta and her daughter on arrival until the moment the taxi took us away from Port de Soller we were relaxing in the most perfect holiday getaway. The apartment, location, scenery and friendly atmostphere all made for a memorable stay. Plenty of good restaurants along the prom. Didn't have a bad meal anywhere.Loved everything about it! Didn't want to come home. The bottle of Cava supplied by the owner(thankyou) went down very well as we sat on the balcony enjoying the mountain views.Having Wifi was a very welcome amenity as well. Would love to return.Thankyou Fred and Caroline.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much. we like to give our friends what we would like to receive when we go on holiday, Carolina and I are so happy that you both loved Cana Carolina, but the Star of the show is The Port and the Town and its wee tram plying up and down, Even though its 5 euro each way, well worth doing once. again thank you for staying in Cana Carolina. warm Regards Fred and Carole

We stayed at Ca'Na Carolina for 13 days and everything was perfect. The location is great, with the sandy beach just outside the door and on the left side after a little walk you have cliffs, if you prefer that. The apartment does have all the facilities we needed, the terrace is very nice and it is the perfect place to sit and eat or relax with your family. We enjoyed our stay very much, and are pleased to recommend Ca'Na Carolina.

Owner's reply: Thank you for you lovely words. Yes It is nice setting on the Terrace enjoying a nice glass of Vino Tinto and also the beach right on the door step, i would be lovely to have you visit again you are more than welcome, a nice bottle of Cava awaits you. Kind regards Carolina and Freddie

“Lovely apartment in a special place”

Reviewed 17 Sep 2012

My husband daughter and I have stayed in Ca'Na Carolina for several years and only have good things to say about it. It is ideally placed on the beach front but with views of the beautiful mountains especially from the back bedroom which means it is much quieter than being on the front. If we had stayed here when our daughter was young it would have been perfect as there are no roads to cross and beach and restaurants a stone throw away. The best time for that beach is first thing in the morning as it does get very crowded so the apartment is ideally placed for an early morning dip. However there are other beaches to choose from which are quieter and good snorkelling off the rocks near the lighthouse. The apartment is well equipped and beds very comfortable though as always in Spain a little short if you are tall like my husband. We have always been in the summer and wouldnt dream of watching tv but if the weather was bad and you were trying to keep children happy maybe a larger tv might be popular though not something we would be bothered about.Ca'Na carolina is a very comfortable light attractive apartment with everything you would need to make a great holiday which is why we keep going back!!

Owner's reply: Thank you yet again for staying in Cana Carolina, We are happy to say that we have a new TV that is a bit better than the old one its a LG also more dvd films and cd's we try and add something every time to make our friends stay a bit better than the last time also we are leaving Cava, wine and water to stare you off , again thank you for your kind words Fred and carolina

“Most enjoyable”

Reviewed 10 Sep 2012

Although our holiday was in November it still was 23 degrees during the day, and evenings that bit cooler. The apartment was terrific, clean well maintained with everything you could need. The view from the terrace was stunning, looking over to the mountains. The apartment was well positioned next to the beach, the harbour, where we had afternoon coffee and beers daily. It was also an excellent touring base.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much, we will be happy to see you again, there will be a bottle of Cava awaiting you . thank you for also for leaving Cana carolina clean and tidy, Kind regards Frederick and carolina

Owner's reply: Hola . thank you for your review, We hope you will come to port de soller again. Kind Regards Fred
