Description

Set in a quiet rural location (rural not remote) just off the main Atlantic Highway, we are ideally based to explore the whole of Cornwall with lots to do locally as well. Visit the shops at Wadebridge, play golf at one of the many local highly acclaimed clubs or the 9 hole course next door, surf at Polzeath/Daymer or try sailing and water-skiing in Rock, surfing, kayaking and coasteering at Port Quinn and Port Gaverne. Tintagel (King Arthur's castle) and Trebarwith Strand (beach) are also worth a visit 10 miles north. Wadebridge is also on the Camel trail (Padstow to Bodmin) so either bring your bikes or hire some here or even walk it. Bodmin Moor and the South-West coastal path also offer many varied walks. The Eden Project is just 18 miles away and Charlestown, the home of the Tall Ships, just a bit further.

Golfing at St Kew (9 Holes) is next door with St Enodoc and other courses within a short drive.

Guests can enjoy Pippins' private lounge, sun room

Guests can enjoy Pippins' private lounge, sun room and patio, which overlook the surrounding grounds that provide a foreground to the views out across open countryside to St Endellion Church. The sitting-room has welcoming decor in relaxing neutral tones, with under-floor heating throughout, pretty furniture in the sitting-area and sun room with luxury bedroom with king size bed. All the rooms are light and airy and guests will enjoy its contemporary restful ambience. As from 25th July 2014 a kitchen has been installed to allow this to be let as self- catering accommodation

Walk along the coastal paths or beaches and breath in the fresh sea air. For sightseeing, why not visit the quaint fishing ports of Padstow (Rick Stein), Port Isaac (Doc Martin) or Boscastle. You can even park in Rock and catch the ferry to Padstow. Surrounding us are five local pubs (between 1 and 4 miles) that serve excellent food, or head into Rock/Padstow for a choice of restaurants, some Michelin rated - but during the high season you will need to book these before you come! Nathan outlaw has now moved to Port Isaac - 15 minutes away!

The England region

We are ideally situated for exploring the whole of Cornwall. Nearby is the picturesque fishing village of Port Isaac village which is well known for the television series 'Doc Martin'. In the old fish sheds is a fishmonger and shellfish shop selling wonderful fresh crab and lobster straight off their boats. This lovely unspoilt village also has many little interesting shops, pubs and restaurants including 2 of Nathan Outlaw's. Padstow is less than 20 minutes away and is also very popular and picturesque with lots to do . It is a foodie paradise with many top chefs located here e.g. Rick Stein, Paul Ainsworth etc. Pleasure boat and fishing trips can be taken from Padstow's harbour side with lots to choose from.

The are several walks and coastal footpaths throughout North coast to enjoy. The walk from Port Quin to Port Isaac forms part of the coastal path and is typical of the scenery and coastline here - simply breathtaking! Bodmin Moor is not far away if you decide to hunt the Bodmin beast!

Tintagel (King Arthur's castle), Boscastle's lovely harbour, Wadebridge - voted one of the best place to live in the UK - a great place to join the Camel Trail for cycling and walking to Padstow. The Camel Trail, a disused railway line, suits all abilities and age groups as it flat and easy to walk or cycle. The trail also goes to Bodmin so either bring your bikes or hire some locally. The Eden Project is just 18 miles away and Charlestown, the home of the Tall Ships, just a bit further.

There are many interesting gardens in Cornwall due to the milder climate and National Trust properties, nearest being Lanhydrock all around 30 minute drive away.

Port Isaac

After relaxing in our beautiful annex, why not head off to one of the local sandy beaches - Rock, Polzeath and Daymer Bay. Walk along the coastal paths or beaches and breathe in the fresh sea air. Surrounding us are five local pubs (between 1 and 4 miles) that serve excellent food, or head into Rock/Padstow for a choice of restaurants, some Michelin rated - but during the high season you will need to book these well in advance. Visit the shops at Wadebridge; play golf at one of the many local highly acclaimed clubs; surf at Polzeath/Daymer beaches; try sailing and water-skiing in Rock; or surfing, kayaking and coasteering at Port Quinn and Port Gaverne. Stunningly beautiful and unspoilt Trebarwith Strand (beach) is also worth a visit about 10 mile's north.

“A LITTLE BIT OF HEAVEN”

Reviewed 27 Oct 2015

A friend recommended this place and I am glad they did.. You could describe it as a haven a getaway or even as a quiet retreat. My wife and I were looking for somewhere quiet and our friend had said that this was the place to go. We arrived late afternoon and buttered scones along with a bottle of red wine were there on the table. A great start and along with the weather it made for a wonderful stay. Everything was first class and we spent such a glorious week that we have booked for next year. I would recommend this place to any one. We have a daughter getting married next year and I am suggesting this place for her honeymoon. This place is like a little bit of heaven. Our only regret was having to leave.

“Absolutely idyllic, 5 star, romantic retreat, a stone's throw from Port Isaac”

Pippins Farmhouse is a fantastic place to stay! Why? The rustic old farmhouse has been re-furbished to the finest quality. It's very light and bright, with lovely, traditional sash windows. The conservatory has sun in the morning and light til end of the day. The kitchen has all you need if you fancy being cosy and staying in. The bedroom is huge, the bed is immensely comfortable, it's top quality and you will surely have the best nights sleep. The bathroom is a work of art. It's beautiful. Just relax and have a chill with a glass of wine in the bath. It's divine. Pippins is perfect for a couple of friends, or a romantic retreat away from the big smoke. It's a 10 min drive from Port Isaac, an adorable little village. You can drive down in the morning to buy fresh fish for your dinner that night. The farmhouse is also ideally situated if you wish travel further up or down the coast. The hosts are so welcoming, what lovely people. A pleasure to have met them both. They couldn't have been more helpful...if we needed anything at all they obliged and then they left us to our own devices, so you have upmost privacy staying here. Cornwall is stunning, what a pretty part of the world. I can't wait to go back and stay at Pippins again one day.

“A beautiful break in Cornwall”

My wife and I had a wonderful break for a few days whilst staying at the Pippins Hendra. We were made so welcome and everything about the annex was just perfect. We had such a lovely, relaxing few days down at the beaches nearby and we really enjoyed all of the fantastic local cuisine! We would definitely recommend staying here and we are looking forward to coming back ourselves in the near future.

“Lovely Space, excellent decor, great ambiance, lovely hosts.”
