Description

This is a wonderful Victorian (c1870) hunting lodge. Secluded, private, imposing, unique. We are not overlooked yet you have all the facilities one could wish for on site or a few minutes' walk away. No more having to drive to restaurants or pubs, you're on holiday, take it easy! All the pleasure but, with The Cleeve's unique secluded position, convenience and privacy come together. Set in 266+ square miles of beautiful national park. See nature at its best. Handy for the Quantocks and Brendon Hills too. Even Dartmoor isn't so far away. Trails straight from the property. Restaurants, pubs and shops: 2 minutes walk. Walking, biking, riding, sailing, site seeing... hang gliding. Football / cricket pitches, tennis courts close by. Level lawned area. Landscaped garden.

* 8+ comfy bedrooms. Sleeping from 2 to 5 mostly en-suite plus another bedroom off room 3.

* 6 stylish bath/shower rooms. A mixture of baths, Jacuzzi bath and/or power showers, (some double size). Refreshing

* Huge lounge/dining room with gorgeous views of the hills. Comfy seating, open fire, flat screen TV, DVD player, games console etc.

* Optional WiFi free - get away from all that and actually enjoy time with your guests in Exmoor.

* Second lounge and it's octagonal! Big open fire, window seats, comfy seats, TV, DVD player, games console etc.

* Main kitchen. A great place to cook, eat or chat. Complete with a lovely large AGA oven.

* Second kitchen. We know what it's like when everyone in a group wants to cook at the same time so we've provided a second kitchen with conventional oven and hob.

* We have a selection of books, DVD films and games to choose from.

* Pantry and storage. You want somewhere to put your food so we kept the big walk in pantry. There are also lots of cupboards in the kitchens to choose from.

* Appliances galore. Washing machines, clothes dryer, freezer, several fridges, AGA, conventional oven and hob, microwave ovens, dishwashers, several TVs, DVD players, radio and more.

* Level lawned area. About the size of a tennis court, wide open with views to the hills and the sea yet secluded and large enough for all sorts of fun and games.

* Landscaped garden. We have 2 acres in total: lots of trees and terracing with a path winding down to our private footbridge.

* Children's play area. There is a large public children's play area just across the lane (and visible from The Cleeve) which is ideal for young children. Your children staying here can also play in our garden, just keep an eye on them especially smaller ones so you can find them! Remember that there's a lovely stream and some steep banks as well as the level lawned areas.

* Parking. We have our own private parking for around 4-8 cars by The Cleeve and further free public parking can be found by our private footbridge.

Getting around

Most people can probably park the car and leave it there for the whole holiday as there's loads to do within walking distance. Hopping in the car will massively expand the possibilities. We're still finding new things all the time, 10 years later!

The housekeepers and owners are a phone call away. Unless needed we will normally keep out of your way for the duration of your stay.
