On the second floor is a twin bedroom and bathroom (bath only on the second floor).

Owlscombe is well-equipped with fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, oven and hob. There is also an Aga in the kitchen which heats the room and can be used for cooking too. Other equipment includes toaster, kettle, cookware, a variety of kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses.
A television (with Sky), DVD player, CD player and iPod docking station is provided. Wireless internet is available at no extra cost.
A cot and/or high chair is available; please request these items when booking so we can make sure they are present for your arrival.

Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. Owlscombe is fitted with oil-fired central heating which can be adjusted to suit your preferences. There is also an open-fire in the living room to top up the heat and keep you cosy on those cooler evenings. Some logs and kindling will be provided to get you started, additional logs can be purchased from the village.

Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips. Please note that bed linen is not provided for the cot.

There is a patio and garden lawn to the side of the property with pathways leading off around the gardens, which include two fish ponds. At the far end of the garden is a secluded spot with garden bench to enjoy the beautiful view. The gardens are enclosed and private and include garden table and chairs, a Weber barbeque and a large fire pit. Due to the fish ponds, please ensure that children are supervised at all times. There is a large tarmacked area providing off-road parking for three or four cars directly outside the property. The drive is gated so this area is enclosed and private.

Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement (maximum of 2). A supplementary fee of £25 will be added to your invoice. Please do not allow your dogs on the furniture or upstairs and do not leave them alone in the property at any time.

Owlscombe is strictly non-smoking.

Owlscombe is available for week breaks during peak periods. Short breaks of three or four nights (from Friday to Monday or Monday to Friday) may be available at other times. The property will be ready from 4 pm on the day of your arrival. Please depart by 10 am on the last day of your stay. Please leave the property clean and tidy so that we can guarantee it will be ready on time for our next guests.

Location description from manager

The England region

Exmoor is situated in South West Britain, specifically across West Somerset and North Devon. Often referred to as England's best kept secret, Exmoor is a wonderful holiday destination for anyone looking for a holiday in the great outdoors! There's so much to see and do, from short walks to long expeditions across the moors or horse riding, taking in a safari or sight-seeing at your own pace around the 'picture postcard' villages and hamlets.

Porlock Weir

Porlock Weir has a quaint little harbour and its own unique charm; the port has a long and colourful history. Today Porlock Weir is a quiet harbour and a thriving community that welcomes tourists every year, many of whom come to enjoy the pretty scenery, shops, tea rooms, pubs and local cuisine. On a fine day, the South West Coast Path offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the fabulous views across Porlock Weir and the bay. The coastal footpath links up with many other walking trails including Culbone, home to the smallest church in England. One of the more unusual attractions at Porlock Weir is the submerged forest. At low tide, the remains of ancient tree trunks arise from the grey clay soil. These desiccated stumps are the last remaining evidence of a forest that, once upon a time, lay five miles inland.
