Location description from owner

The Lombardy region

Cima - Lake Lugano

The pretty, medieval village of Cima is an historical part of the lakeside town of Porlezza.

It is a lovely picturesque town with old cobbled streets and many traditional shops including a bakery, butchers and post office. There are several good restaurants, cafes, clothes shops, and general stores and most importantly, ice cream parlours! End a romantic evening with a walk along the beautiful lakeside boulevard.

Porlezza is just 12 km, over the mountain pass from Menaggio on Lake Como and is on the scenic route to the town of Swiss town Lugano. Porlezza is the principle town at this Southern end of the Lake in Italy and adds an Italian flavour to a well known Swiss name!

Lombardy - Lake Lugano area:

The Italian Lakes are a little slice of paradise. Elegant ribbons of blue water stretch out ahead, folded into the sun-baked foothills, with a spectacular back drop of the snow-capped Alps.

Warming, inspiring and graced with natural beauty, the lakes are still a place to draw breath and wonder. Lake Lugano, oriented north-south, ringed by characterful old villages often wedged onto narrow beaches between rugged cliffs and water.

Those classic lake images of flower strewn balconies, Baroque gardens and splendid waterside villas can be found here in abundance. Dotted around and between the lakes are some of Italy's finest art cities, such as Milan, Verona & Bergamo.
