Location description from owner

The England region

Dorset's attractions are the mild climate, golden sandy beaches, beautiful coastline and countryside. It's weather is favourable, Dorset having amongst the most sunshine hours per year in the UK.

There are the dramatic ruins of Corfe Castle (National Trust), the Swanage Steam Railway, the long sandy beaches of Studland and the fascinating Sandbanks Chain Ferry (single car crossing approx £3) within a short distance. Treat yourself to tea at The Haven Hotel with its consevatory overlooking the entrance to Poole Harbour and the chain ferry.

Spend some time on the beaches of Sandbanks Peninsula, Poole, famous for having some of the most expensive properties in the world. Drop into Jazzy's Cafe (Shore Road) on a Sunday morning and read the papers and people-watch. See the Fireworks Display Summer Thursdays 10pm at Poole Quay.

Thomas Hardy based his many novels, eg The Mayor of Casterbridge, in Wessex - the Dorset countryside. An interesting read before bedtime!

“Beautiful view and great base for visiting Dorset”

Reviewed 11 Oct 2012

We had a lovely relaxing stay and the large dual aspect windows were the main reason we booked. Regardless of the weather you can be guaranteed lovely views of the harbour with lots of natural daylight. The apartment was lovely and quiet and close enough to walk into Poole for evening meals. The apartment was immaculately clean and had everything you would need. The landlord and lady were keen to maintain high standards of cleanliness in the apartment and this was the only thing that detracted from fully relaxing (cream carpets and a 10 month old were not the most practical combination). Overall a lovely break.

“Five Star All The Way”

Reviewed 24 Jun 2011

Absolutely brilliant. Ideal for the oldies. Views great. Apartment - out of this world. Could I fault anything? - would be extremely picky if I said I missed a bread bin. Other than that all we could wish for and more. Would easily return - and hopefully will. Because of the beautiful decor i would be inclined not to recommend young children

Good for the younger ones too! Have had many families stay with their children - from babies, toddlers to teenagers. Looking forward to seeing you again in September.
