Brownsea Island and the Purbecks across the natural bay of Poole Harbour are definitely places to visit and they offer sightseeing opportunites and activities for all age ranges . Poole Harbour's shallow waters are ideal for a variety of water sports from beginners to experts and there is something for everybody to enjoy from fishing, boat trips, jet –sking, kite surfing and much more.

The Sandbanks chain ferry, 15 minutes' walk away, shuttles between Sandbanks and Studland Bay at the mouth of Poole Harbour and there are also ferries to nearby Brownsea Island Nature Reserve, owned and managed by the National Trust.
