Location description from manager

The Swiss Alps region

Ticino:

Ticino, an Italian-speaking region in southern Switzerland, is known for its palm-lined lakes and the Mediterranean flavor of its architecture and cuisine. Lugano, a town on glacial Lake Lugano, is known for its waterfront promenade with gardens and sculptures, and Piazza della Reforma, a square lined with neoclassical buildings. Funiculars travel between the town and mountain peaks with hiking trails and campgrounds.

The surrounding area also offers a super selection of idyllic woods and nature trails perfect for walking and cycling in. Water sports and golf at the Magliaso Club (8 minutes drive away) can also be found on the doorstep of Ponte Tresa. Visitors looking to soak up some sun and breathtaking lake views can enjoy relaxing at the Lido di Caslano (9 minutes drive away), or by taking a trip on the Paradiso Furnicular (23 minutes drive) and by visiting Mount San Giorgio (47 minutes drive) and Madonna del Sasso (51 minutes drive away).

Lake Lugano area:

The Italian Lakes are a little slice of paradise. Elegant ribbons of blue water stretch out ahead, folded into the sun-baked foothills, with a spectacular back drop of the snow-capped Alps.

Warming, inspiring and graced with natural beauty, the lakes are still a place to draw breath and wonder. Lake Lugano, oriented north-south, ringed by characterful old villages often wedged onto narrow beaches between rugged cliffs and water.

Those classic lake images of flower strewn balconies, Baroque gardens and splendid waterside villas can be found here in abundance. Dotted around and between the lakes are some of Italy's finest art cities, such as Milan, Verona & Bergamo.

Ponte Tresa

Lugano Golf:

If you enjoy playing golf then a visit to the Lugano Golf Club which is only a few kilometres from Agno Airport, the golf club is located on level ground and displays the best possible views with it's splendid birch woods, oaks, pines, rhododendrons and azaleas, golf is enjoyed by many golfers despite the difficulty of this challenging course. The steady presence of water blockages and narrow fairways makes the course fairly challenging, as your playing your round of golf you should cross the Magliasina River almost 8 times, the course with it's shapes and designs demands you to resort to play a more powerful game with greater accuracy.

Golf:

Golf Club Lugano, 6987 Magliaso, Switzerland.

Lugano Golf Club, the oldest club of Italian Switzerland.

It was founded in 1923 and represents a miracle of golfing architecture.

Over the years, several changes have been made until the decision to adopt a master plan in 1992, the implementation of which continues in stages, with the aim to make the route more and more interesting and meets the needs of modern golfers, whether they are experts or beginners.

Located 10 minutes from the city of Lugano, financial center and tourist center of national and international significance , it is easily accessible being on the cross of North-South transit connecting the north of the Alps to Italy.

The Golf Club Lugano is a must for any golfer who wants variety of routes, nature and postcard scenery and warm welcome to the Club House.

Lugano Skiing:

Lugano attracts people from around the globe for it's natural delights that present a fine mix of village and city, the town features among the holiday region in Switzerland and lives up to it's fame by offering plenty of leisure activities for it's guests, skiing is certainly one of them. Lugano is a fine spot for skiing with it's hilly areas, Skiing is best experienced on Mt. Lema which is just at few minutes drive from Lugano, Ticino also has fine skiing areas which are either in San Bernardino or Airolo (south of Gotthard pass), both ski areas can be reached in an hour by car, Andermatt is also a fine place for skiing.
