After crossing the emblazoned entrance

and the manor's main entrance.

Next to the main façade of the house

there are various farm premises, amongst

Th e house has a beautiful garden and

mountain ridges where the blue colour

of the sky mingles with the green of the

trees, and the peaceful silent environment

invites to dreaming and introspection,

away from daily stress.

“Paradise in The World”

Reviewed 9 Jul 2013

I have been to Casa do Retiro in the summer 2011. Myself and 5 friends went there so we could enjoy pure nature and go for some bike tours (exploring). When we got to the main gate we could not believe how imposing it was ( like 6 meters in stone with an amazing blazon coming out). The house is old style and it still keeps the charming from simplicity complemented with nature all around. The property is surrounded by granite walls witch give an amazing privacy! The land is huge like 12 acres or something with a river crossing it! The views are stunning from every side - mountain range, a corn field, chestnut tress and much more. We had the best holidays ever and unfortunately can´t book this year- too late:s Anyway i will surely book next year or event earlier! Tip: Go to Ponte de Lima Village the oldest in Europe (amazing), go to Serra D Arga and try the natural lagoons.
