The pool is cleaned and checked and the water tested every morning around 7am and the cover rolled back ready for your early morning swim and the whole pool area is often power washed and swept. The villa is well situated for use as a base to see more of Tuscany and the surrounding area's and there are many local attractions, great golf courses, mountain walks, churches art galleries and museums a plenty as well as the beautiful city of Lucca itself with its walls and elegant buildings. The villa has many unique features including differently designed hand made tiles on each floor in every room, Inside shutters are on every window all of which are chestnut wood as are all interior doors. Two of the rooms have fresco's on the ceilings which were hand painted in 1938 and restored 5 years ago.The main entrance has Carrera marble steps and marble columns and balustrade, and the kitchen floor is tiled in marble. The villa was built in 1938 and incorporates all the best of the artisans work of that period with the addition of modern plumbing and electrics for your comfort and convenience .For a time it was the home of the Mayor of Lucca, the city's highest official and with its spacious rooms it will offer plenty of space for 8 guests without anyone feeling crowded.
The walled city of Lucca is a beautiful medieval city, which is the birthplace of Puccini. The city is mostly pedestrianised, which is fantastic for cycling and walking. We have four bicycles at the villa for the free use of our guests and there is a dedicated cycle path from the village into Lucca and the good news is that it is flat all the way there and back and is alongside the River Serchio so is well away from road traffic. The countryside north of Lucca is breathtaking with many medieval villages perched on wooded hillsides. There are many beautiful palazzos, spas and vineyards to visit in the area. In the Summer there are many musical events: Puccini operas at Torre del lago, whilst in Lucca, during July, several of the world's best musicians play in the amphitheatre. There are also several jazz festivals. There are many superb restaurants within 15 mins of the house. Fungi and truffles are some of the local specialities and olive oil from Lucca is famous the world over. One hour's drive north from the villa is the beautiful ski resort of Abetone. This is a very popular Winter resort with very good facilities.low prices for ski lift passes and pistes for beginners and the more experiences skiers.
Tuscany is the birthplace of the Renaissance with artists such as Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci both being born and working locally. Puccini was born in Lucca and wrote most of his music in the area and there are many smaller towns full of art and history dating back to the Etruscan civilisation and earlier.
Tuscany is known for its varied landscape: mountains, seaside resorts, vineyards, olive groves. The Etruscan Archipelago along with the area known as Cinque Terre are within easy reach. Villa Reale, the home of Elisa, Napoleon's sister and Villa Mansi are a few miles away and well worth a visit.

- Very Good
I visited this property in October 2016 (party of 5) for 10 nights. When we seen the pictures of this villa online we thought wow but when we actually arrived the pictures done the property no justice at all, It was absolutely out of this world. The property is very spacious, has all your needs and the pool area is amazing. Tony, Sabrina and Giovani were so kind and friendly during our stay and were always there to help and guide us. It says online you receive a welcome pack when arriving to the property, this welcome pack included all necessities needed while staying in a villa and more. It is situated in a quiet village only 10 minutes from the beautiful city Lucca. It has lovely restaurants (da pinzo and il giardentto) was our personal favourites in the village. The town has a gorgeous ice cream palour and bar called Sauros. Would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to stay and experience the Tuscan Region.
