“Superb apartment and wonderful host”

Reviewed 18 Apr 2013

The apartment was lovely and spacious. Its very clean and modern, with very comfortable beds. The location is very peaceful. Views from the terrace look out over Pompei and the Bay of Naples. From the front you can see Mt Vesuvious. Karin the host was really great and has added some nice extras, like a kettle and toaster, which you don't always find in European kitchens. She speaks fluent English and French so organising the holiday was very easy. The apartments location is very good. A short 5 min stroll to the entrance to Pompei. The train station is even closer and makes trips to Sorrento, Carpi and Naples very easy.

“Spacious, comfortable & relaxing - pity about the last night”

Firstly the apartment exactly matched the description and picture. In fact I'd say it felt bigger than the description. Everything was fully working and there was more than enough equipment. The kingsize bed was lovely and firm and the sofa's were (unusually for a rental property) comfortable. The jacuzzi was great and the views from the terrace are fantastic (though don't expect the full 360 degrees to have perfect views!). The only thing that was a bit small were the two bathrooms. They were perfectly functional but just "compact" compared to the rest of the apartment. The location was great under 200m from the Pompeii ruins and the train station. Also (if you're brave enough) very close to the motorway exit. We hired a car (which isn't neccessary) and it took under 1/2 hour from the airport. The train line runs very close to the apartment, though down a steep bank so the trains aren't looking in at you! It appears to start around 7am and finish around 10pm. Though this varied. It didn't seem to wake our teenage children but did tend to wake us in the morning. I suspect in summer if you have all the windows closed and aircon on it may be quieter. The booking process was very easy and the deposit was returned without any issues. So why not 5*? Basically because of the noise on the last night. A party was held in the resturant downstairs (which is very nice). The noise was so loud that I couldn't even sit in bed and read. To be fair the owners were very apologetic the next morning, but it did spoil what had been a great time up to then. I suspect parties are a rare event but you may wish to check.

“Fantastic views, great location, happy holidays.....”

We had a wonderful week at this very spacious apartment. It was very clean, well equipped and comfortable and the pool was just right to cool down in what was extremely hot weather for even the locals! The location is perfect for sightseeing - we hired a car and driver to visit the Amalfi coast, and Pompeii ruins are a short walk down the hill. Pompei town is a little further - within a healthy walking distance, and has some great bars and restaurants. However, our favourite restaurant was just below the apartment - Tiberius. Wow! We have eaten in some great restaurants, but Tiberius has to be amongst the very best. Crisp linen napkins, fine wine, fabulous food - seafood a speciality, and presented so beautifully it was almost a shame to eat it! The owners of the apartment and restaurant were extremely helpful, and friendly - nothing was too much trouble, and the booking process was quick and easy. We did use the transfer service, and were so glad to be met at the airport in style and comfort! All in all a great holiday - topped by fabulous views from the rooftop terrace. We hope to return someday.

“excellent for pompeii ruins”

nice, bright, clean apartment. great location for visiting the ruins. suggest you use the transfer from the airport as it's quite an undertaking to get there by bus & train after a long journey! was a little worried beforehand that the bank account for payment was in france and the security deposit was 400 euros - but it was all fine. friendly welcome and owners on hand if any problems (there weren't!). super comfy sofas too :) the only downside was trainline being so near and running so frequently but if you're used to traffic noise it's not really a problem.
