Location description from owner

The Scotland region

Edinburgh is a vibrant and uniquely beautiful capital city. The breathtaking grandeur of Edinburgh Castle, its rich history and the unique atmosphere aside, the city has myriad sights and experiences for the visitor.

Polwarth

The flat is situated 3.5km west of Princes Street in the urban village of Shandon. Much of the area has conservation status because of its quaint little streets of Victorian maisonettes with tiny gardens built for artisans by 19th century philanthropists.

The flat looks out on to the heart of Shandon - lovely Harrison Park, which lies alongside the Union Canal, which has been restored in recent years and is used by narrowboats, rowers and walkers.

“Excellent, well equipped flat in peaceful location”

Reviewed 15 Sep 2015

I rented this flat for when my extended family was coming over to stay. They were six, but the flat can comfortably sleep seven people. My family found it clean and well presented on arrival with comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen. The large dining kitchen was brilliant for long family breakfasts together around the table enjoying a good chat. Would definitly use again in future - well organised rental all over :)

Owner's reply: Pleased to think that a sizable group have found my flat spacious, comfortable, attractive and well equipped. I hope that they will come back, just as they say.

“Lovely flat in ideal location”

Reviewed 8 Jul 2015

We really enjoyed our stay at this flat. We were a family group of 7 there for a long weekend for our son's Graduation. The flat is nicely decorated and furnished and ideally situated with a lovely view from the lounge across open parkland. The free on street parking was particularly beneficial as we had a hire car and car parking can be very expensive in Edinburgh. The flat is also within easy walking distance of the city with the nearby canal offering a lovely lit walkway at night which we used to save on a taxi fare, walking back after an evening meal. The owner was very obliging and did her best to make us feel welcome. We have stayed in a number of flats on our visits to Edinburgh over the last few years and this flat certainly had one of the best locations.

Owner's reply: Thanks very much for your great review and I'm delighted you enjoyed your stay. You let me know privately that the microwave was playing up so now I've replaced it....and put a nonslip mat in the bath. Feedback from guests is really helpful!

“A perfectly charming Edinburgh hideaway”

Reviewed 18 Aug 2014

We were looking for a place to stay in Edinburgh during the fringe festival for a group of friends and were very lucky to stay here. The flat was perfect for us, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre in a nice leafy area, spotlessly clean and with a charmingly decorated interior that impressed us all. I'd certainly recommend this flat to anyone else and we'd love to stay again. Thank you!
