Location description from owner

The England region

From the dramatic coastline of the north to the sheltered bays in the south, from ancient moorland to soft river estuaries, surfers, walkers, sailing buffs, ''gastronauts'' and visitors simply seeking a break from a hectic world have discovered a fascinating, vibrant culture, food to die for and a naturally thrilling adventure playground.

Polperro

Lying a few miles down the coast from Looe, the historic fishing village of Polperro is a time capsule of old Cornwall at its romantic best.

The collection of ancient fishermen’s cottages and narrow streets and lanes, that have somehow been shoe-horned into the steep, narrow valley running down to the sea, all add up to give Polperro its deserved accolade of one of the prettiest villages in Britain.

Anyone wanting to do more than just relax and watch the world go by will find that there’s a lot to do in and around Polperro. The village does have a beach and, although relatively small, at low tide this is always popular. Then, in addition to numerous local tourist attractions such as The Eden Project and the magnificent National Trust property at Lanhydrock, there are the beautiful walks to be enjoyed in and around the surrounding countryside and coastline, which has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Perfect exercise to justify a drink or two in one of the excellent pubs in the village and choose from a variety of restaurants to enjoy supper !

“Perfect Polperro”

Reviewed 17 Oct 2016

Had a fantastic weekend break in Polperro. Lower Laurels is a gorgeous property. It's spacious and the bedroom and bathroom are a lovely size. The living area was cosy and spacious also. Kelvin popped in to see us not long after we arrived and was very friendly and helpful. There is a small terrace area which is up some steps to the side of the property and from there you can see the harbour. The decor of the property is lovely and so homely we didn't want to leave.

“Great property in a fantastic location”

Reviewed 6 Jan 2012

The property was absolutely spot-on for a winter Cornwall mini-break in beautiful Polpero. A great location for access to the coastal pathway and centre of the village, and only 3 mins walk from the Blue Peter Inn which served fantastic locally-sourced pub food. Really good value for money and would definitely recommend for couples in particular as very cosy.

“magical”

Absolutely beautiful place and the apartment was immaculate, homely and had everything we could ever need. We had just the best time and the memories of our trip have stayed with us. Couldn't recommend it higher.

“Lovely apartment in great location”

Reviewed 19 Sep 2011

Lower Laurels is only metres from the harbour front and we quite often sat on one of the four benches in the sun trap outside the Heritage Museum just a few metres from the front door. I have attached a photo showing how close the museum is to the gate for Lower Laurels. The apartment is lovely with a nice big bedroom and a large shower and we would definitely visit again.

Very easy to book, we found the Lower Laurels apartment just as described. Perfect for 2 plus dog! Comfortable and well equiped, the apartment was clean and beautifully decorated. In a great position for walking along the cliffs and to visit the Blue Peter pub, which offers great food and a welcoming atmosphere. We very much hope to visit again and would not hesitate to recommend the apartment to family and friends.
