Description from owner
Cobblestones is situated in 'The Warren', a picturesque, very narrow, traffic free lane that runs alongside the harbour and continues along the magnificent coastal path to Talland Bay and Looe. It's very peaceful yet within a 3 minute stroll of the many shops, pubs and restaurants the village has to offer. Polperro's history is based on smuggling and fishing and (at least the latter) is still very active! Visitors can soak up the atmosphere by taking a fishing trip from the harbour, drop into the smuggling museum or explore the narrow lanes and passageways which still echo to the sound of hand pushed carts laden with tobacco bales and barrels of brandy. The cottage is still used by the same family as a holiday home for the past 25 years so, unlike some rental accommodation, it really is a 'home from home' with modern, high quality fittings that harmonise perfectly with it's character and heritage. There is a large private garden, one of very few in The Warren, that has split level decking

Location description from owner
The England region
Cornwall, the most westerly peninsula of England, is renowned for is dramatic coastline, beautiful countryside and, not least, it's romantic history. Not surprisingly it has been a favourite holiday destination for decades and in recent years it's heritage, both natural and man made has been further preserved and enhanced.
Today the region caters for visitors with the rightful expectation of modern facilities coupled with an appreciation of
a simpler, slower pace of life.
Polperro is a truly ancient fishing village on the south coast of Cornwall, an area that benefits from a generally warmer and gentler climate than other parts. It's certainly amongst the prettiest villages in the county - many would put it at number 1!
Being a working fishing harbour means there's always gentle activity whether it's landing the catch, people sauntering to the small beach at low tide or artists with easels capturing their favourite view. There are numerous pubs, often with live music, and many restaurants and cafes catering for every taste and budget. From an al fresco afternoon cream tea to a simple bowl of moules or a full - on 6 course gastronomique - the choice is yours. At the turn of every corner you'll discover fascinating shops and art galleries.
The coastal paths either walking east toward Looe or west toward Lansallos and Polruan are equally dramatic.
If you can tear yourself away from the village visit the extraordinary Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan and many more experiences within easy reach. Then come back to your beautiful cottage and relax - Bliss!

“Holiday in Polperro”
Excellent location - superb accommodation - tastefully furnished and very comfortable. Garden had lovely views and a relaxing spot to chill. Kitchen well equipped. High standard of cleanliness throughout.
“Historic charm coupled to modern-day comforts”
We spent a happy week in a very sunny Polperro staying at Cobblestones. It's different to what most of us are used to. Located in the aptly named Warren, it's like many of the very old homes in this extraordinary village, almost cut into the rock face making it an 'upside down' house with the quaint little garden and sizeable sitting room on the third floor. The lovely lounge looks out onto the pretty harbour and the best pub in town - the Blue Peter. The food is good here (as is the range of beers) and while on the subject, the House on The Props and newly-opened Michelle's are also good. Cobblestones has been furnished with style and has a cosy family feel to it. Beds are comfortable (although I wasn't in an bunk bed!) and everything worked fine (not least of all the fabulous TV/hi-fi sound system). Most mobiles don't work in the village but the house has wireless provided and that worked fine, too. Only criticism would be that the cooker is so modern we couldn't work it!
“A beautiful place to stay all year round...”
We stayed at Cobblestones a couple of years ago in the summer and had a great time. The garden with the decking was fantastic for sunbathing. This time we came for a short break in November and it was really cosy. The top floor living room is very spacious and great view. We've stayed in Polperro lots of times over the years and this is the best cottage we've stayed at. The best Pub is The Blue Peter, right by the sea. Great food, really friendly and a big log fire in the winter. Would definitely recommend Cobblestones.
“charming and well equipped cottage”
charming and well equipped cottage. Well located, and the garden is definitely a plus. The owner was a pleasant host that made sure that we had everything that we needed.
