From the morning where you can have a perfect breakfast until the lovely nights where to swim under the stairs while grilling at the BBQ.

There is a privately set swimming pool (8x4 meters) and a big covered barbecue and 2 big tables ideal for 'al fresco' eating under starry nights in Summer.

The house has a hall divided in 2 areas. The sofa area next to the fire place and in front of the Satellite TV with international channels and the indoor dining area, which is next to the porch and next to the fully equipped kitchen.

Downstairs we will find one twin bedroom and a family bathroom. The rest of Bedrooms are on the first floor. There we will find a huge double bedroom with 2 windows and great views to the mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana and the almond tree fields. There is another bedroom, a twin one, on the first floor with lovely views to the swimming pool. We´ll also find there a large family bathroom.

'Can Suau' is ideal for families with children but also for cyclists and excursionists as the road to the Monastry of Lluc is just a short stroll from the villa. The centre of Pollença and the beaches of Puerto de Pollensa are at a short distance driving (approx. 5 minutes) while we enjoy the countryside majorcan life.

Location description from manager

The Balearic Islands region

This is the largest island belonging to Spain and is known not only for its outstanding natural beauty and perfect holiday weather but also for many tourist resorts.

Throughout the centuries Majorca was under many rulings, from Romans to Vandals, Christians and Muslims, all those cultures have left their mark in the islands architecture, cuisine and traditions. Nowadays you can admire the ruins, stunning churches and other architectural remains.

Pollensa is a wonderful little village in the North part of Mallorca Island. Beautiful place where you will enjoy your holidays on the Mediterranean sea. Enjoy Puerto de Pollensa beach.

Pollença is a peaceful and tranquil town that remains very typically Spanish. It is four miles from the coast, nestling between two hills at the eastern end of the Tramuntana mountains. Pollença itself is indisputably pretty. Historic buildings with ochre roofs, sun-baked walls and wooden shutters line the narrow and twisting medieval streets. There are pastel-painted houses in the centre and Moorish water mills on the outskirts. It's also a haven of sleepy Mallorcan traditions - café life and the siesta roll on here as they always have. The heart of the old town is the central square, Plaça Major, where there are many café-bars and fine restaurants.

Pollença also has lots of galleries of Mallorcan art and design, and a town museum. The most famous walk in Pollença is up the 365 steps of the tree-lined 'Calvario' - the Calvari Hill. There is a tiny church at the top with amazing views over the town and across wooded valleys to the sea.

Pollenca

The town of Pollensa in northern Mallorca lies some 8kms. inland from the bay of Pollensa. Guarded by the Puig Maria (puig = Catalan for hill), Pollensa has retained much of its immense charm despite the new building of residential stock, a reflection of its considerable popularity, not least amongst those from other countries who have chosen to settle in the town.

Pollensa has a rich history, its “modern” era starting with the foundation of a settlement at the foot of the Calvari in the early fifth century.

The name Pollensa is derived from Pollentia, the name of the Roman town in Alcudia, from where came those who created the settlement. In keeping with other places in Mallorca, Pollensa can boast a history that saw Egyptians, Romans, Moors and Ottomans all having a say in the affairs of the town. The Pharaohs founded an earlier city of Bocchoris in pre-Christian days.

The Romans, whilst holding Mallorca as part of the Western empire, have not left a notable legacy in Pollensa, unlike in nearby Alcudia. Influence that they had was diminished after the Vandals sacked the Balearics in 426, though the Byzantines duly arrived some hundred years or so later. Islamic power kicked in in the early tenth century, was eliminated in 1229 by the Aragon king Jaime I, and finally rebuffed in 1550 by Joan Más who led the repulsion of the Ottomans under Dragut who had attempted to claim the town for the empire.

Less violently, and coming closer to today, Pollensa has developed a strong artistic and artisan culture. The founding of a school for painting in 1913 by Anglada Camarasa fostered a tradition, especially of impressionist art, carried on subsequently by the likes of Joaquín Mir.

The town nowadays houses several fine galleries and art shops. Poetry, to the forefront of this being Miguel Costa i Llobera whose monument can be found at the base of the Puig Maria, also blossomed, as did a musical tradition, the greatest expression of this now being the annual Festival of Pollensa, founded by the violinist Philip Newman in the early '60s, which each summer attracts performers (mainly classical) from many different countries.

The artisan and craft tradition owes much to the reputation and innovation of Marti Vicenç, whose eponymous museum is located towards the base of the Calvari steps. Vicenç developed textile technology that can now be witnessed in the astonishingly vibrant and rich-coloured textiles in Galeries Vicenç.
