"Ideal place to unwind"
When we arrived we were welcomed and showed to our cabin. On entering the cabin was immaculate and as we imagined from the pictures. The owners were on hand if we needed them and nothing was too much trouble, the location is an ideal spot to unwind and relax with beautiful scenery and hosts. While we were there it snowed and with the log burner alight the cabin was lovely and warm and cosy and i highly recommend this to relax and switch off.

"A holiday with as much chill as you want."
Fabulous well equipped log cabin, in very tranquil surroundings. Just sitting gazing over the lake is ideal, whatever the weather. You feel like you're in the middle of the country but convenient shops, restaurants and arts centre just over a mile away. Lots of other activities locally for those who don't want to fish, with York, Beverley and Hull nearby. The welcome was terrific from Denise and Sarah, who couldn't be more helpful. We love this place! We'll be going again soon!

"Had a nice time with the family"
We booked the lodge for a break between xmas and new year. The advert stated it was 5* luxery, the pictures we viewed before booking intimated there would be a comlimentary bottle of wine and chocolates.....unfortunately neither were true. The lodge, dont get me wrong is in a quiet tranquil setting however from day one when we moved in there was a horrible stench. On day 2 we found this was actually the drainage system and the only way to get rid of the pong was to open the door (not great in winter). The 'all dancing and singing' 5* shower was broken, as was the oven door and some door handles, the television although having sky only had the 5 basic channels. Cobwebs were evident in the lodge also, and didn't appear 100% clean. I am not being pedantic, we just expected more for what we paid for and for what was advertised but we did enjoy the stay, it was great family time and although you have to pay for gas/electricity andextra logs the owners let us off so with paying. I am not going to say dont come because its a nice place, just dont expect too much.
We take all reviews good and bad very seriously. We are very disappointed to read these comments. Nothing was mentioned to the owners whilst the guests were on holiday. We live on site and are always available to help and resolve any problems our guests may have. As far as we know the customers went home happy. We have however where we can addressed any issues.

"Great! If your a fisherman or not"
This is the third time we stayed here and we certainly have never been dissapointed. If you looking for a get away thats not too far from local shops and restaurantes but where you can get peace and quiet by the bucket full then this is the place for you. Me and my family first found this place a few years back and we have been going every since each year. The fishing is great with the water right on your door step and the pond itself is a great little unspoilt nature haven. There are two ponds you can fish, the larger of the two is the more challenging but has the larger fish. My advice to you if fishing the large pond is to keep at it as the rewards are great if you find the technique or rig thats working on the day, you only have to take a look at the website to see the great fish that have come out of this water. There is a smaller strip pond too and this is great fun if you have been a good while without bites and need to see the float go under a few times, but rest assured there are some great fish in there too. The accomodation is very clean and there are all the facillities one could wish for. We were very comfortuble during our stay and made to feel welcome by the people who run it and will certainly be booking again soon.
