Carpenter's Cottage, in the centre of the historic market town of Pocklington, is a short stroll from shops, restaurants, pubs, theatre, cinema, sports centre and Burnby Hall gardens. It is the perfect base for visiting the nearby city of York or for walking or cycling in the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds.

Underfloor heating and a wood burning stove make the cottage cosy and comfortable all year round. There is utility room with washing machine/tumble dryer - handy for walking and cycling holidays in all weathers. Items of handcrafted wooden fittings and a stained glass window in the en suite double bedroom all add to the cottage's charm. Situated in the grounds of the owner's home, the cottage has its own private courtyard, off-road parking and secure cycle store; and you are very welcome to share the owners' large garden.

The cottage is well-equipped for self catering. We supply towels, linen and toiletries as well as pepper, salt, tea, coffee, sugar, and a pint of milk to get you started. You are a short walk from a number of good bakeries, delicatessens, butchers, greengrocers and supermarkets. If you prefer to eat out, then Pocklington has cafés and restaurants to suit all tastes.

“Incredibly Homely”

My Fiancée and I planned to view a potential band for our wedding in Pocklington. We decided to make a weekend of it. The hosts, Patrick and Helen we're incredibly welcoming. The location is perfect, right in the centre of the village and a short walk from all the shops and bars. The accommodation is beautiful and so comfortable. We had such a lovely time!

How do damage deposits work?

If Helen (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
