Situated in a quiet part of Playa Honda across the road to the Lagoon which faces the main La Manga strip ofhotels and restaurants. Being a Lagoon the water is warmer and calmer than the sea being very safe for the whole family. The apartment is on the 6th floor over looking the whole pool area and the lagoon. A fully enclosed and secure ground floor incorporates a Heated indoor pool with Sauna. An outdoor pool. A children's Own pool and Play area. A Jacuzzi and a Gym all set beneath palm trees and landscaped gardens In the same road as the apartments are some Shops, Restaurants and a Pharmacy. It also has its own secure underground parking space.

The large Balcony has a table and chairs with 2 sun loungers with cushions which over looks the whole pool area and the lagoon. It is ideal to eat most of your meals on which is for a large part of the year. The secure under ground parking is situated in the basement and is reached only by remote or key entry operating electric doors and by lift or stairs directly from the apartment also having a secure vidio-linked entrance system to enter the complex. The pool caters for all age groups the children having their own areas all with lovely surroundings with the added benefit of being completely enclosed. Also having toilet facilities in the pool area.

Playa Honda is situated in the region of Murcia. This area of Spain has some of the lowest rainfalls in the whole of Spain. It averages about 320 days of sunshine per year, this making it an ideal place for both Winter
and Summer holidays. Especially for those Golfers, Cyclists and out door people. The area is in the Costa Calida which translated means 'Warm Coast'

This resort is ideally suited for Families, Sunbathers, Golfers, Water Sports enthusiasts, Cyclists, Walkers, Tennis players also those that enjoy the Casino as the famous La Manga Country Club is only a 10 min. drive where there is 3 Golf courses, 17 Tennis courts, a Bowling club, several Bars, Restaurants and a Casino.

“Nice apartment stones throw from the beach”

Our family (2 adults plus a 3 year old and a baby) stayed in this apartment in September / October 2012. Would we stay here again - YES. If you want to know more read on. This was the first time we'd booked an apartment as opposed to a hotel, and we were quite worried about the booking process. In particular that you have to transfer cash and that there were no reviews on the site (hopefully this will solve that problem) although it has been advertised for 5 years. Our doubts were eased by the owner who we spoke to both by telephone and email and who was very helpful and polite. We had no problems booking or getting our deposit back. The apartment is only 25 minutes from San Javier (Murcia) airport along a main road, so ideal after a long flight. We arrived late and checked out late, again the owner was most accommodating. We picked the keys up and dropped them off at the bar on the end of the road, very simple really. I would advise to arrive by car, as we did, with underground parking provided (secured by key). There is a lift up to the apartment, also secured by key. The apartment itself is on the sixth floor and has a living room (with tv / dvd which we never used), kitchen with all that you need, bathroom with bath and shower, a double bedroom and another bedroom with 2 single beds. The owner provided us a cot free of charge. I believe there is air con in the living room and double bedroom, but we never tried this. There is also a nice balcony with views of the pool and lagoon. There is another outdoor space to the rear through the kitchen which is ideal for drying washing. Of particular benefit was the free wifi (the owner supplied the key), the strength isn't great (our phones would only really pick it up on the balcony or bedroom, the tablet was a bit better with the laptop connecting anywhere) and the speed isn't brilliant either (0.5Mbps), but more than enough to plan your daily excursions, read the news, post some photos and even Skype. Lastly there is a sun terrace on the roof which we didn't really use except to look at the view (and the stars). In terms of location, there is both an outdoor and indoor pool in the complex, and a gym and sauna. You need a swim cap for the indoor pool. We stayed at the end of September and the weather was still really hot (mid 30s during the day and 20s at night), but never really used the outdoor pool (it seemed a bit cold), preferring instead to use the indoor pool or swim in the sea, which is literally across the road (1 minute walk). There are a couple of British bars at the end of the road selling a British menu for a good price. The local shop is also located here and has all you'll need. Don't worry about noise, the complex is very quite at night, ideal after a long day sight seeing. We stayed for 9 days and enjoyed trips to Cartagena - a lovely town 25 minutes away along the main road with Fort, old Roman theatre and port, Murcia - another nice town just under an hour away, Torrevieja - another nice town which has Flamenco dancing some nights (look up Patio Andaluz), La Union - mining town 20 minutes away with tours of the mine, Cabo de Palos 5 minutes away with nice lighthouse, tourist information and market, and lastly the national park 5 minutes away for walking and picnics. We had a throughly great time and the apartment was an ideal base for these trips. I must say if you do go at the end of September check out the weekly Roman festival in Cartagena, it was the highlight of our week - unmissable! I've rated as 4/5, mainly because the apartment doesn't take your breath away when you enter. That said it is really very good, and in particular excellent value for money, I wouldn't hesitate to book again or recommend to a friend.
