Location description from owner

The Canary Islands region

As the northern most of the Canary Islands, Lanzarote lies approximately 70 miles from the west coast of Africa, and yet is only 4 hours flying time from the UK. It is ideal for either a short term break or a longer rest, and can offer year round sunshine, spectacular scenery and beautiful beaches.

With its bustling capital - Arrecife - to the extraordinary lava fields at Timanfaya National Park, Lanzarote also offers a unique history and fascinating culture.

Playa Blanca

Playa Blanca is a peaceful resort situated on the southern tip of Lanzarote, approximately 35 minutes from Arrecife airport. It enjoys the best weather on the island and stunning views across to the neighbouring islands of Fuerteventura and Los Lobos separated from Lanzarote by the straits of Bocaina.

Playa Blanca was originally a small fishing village and from the attractive harbour you can see the local fishermen landing their catch. From here you can also take a 35 minute ferry crossing to Fuerteventura.

A pretty seafront walk will take you the length of Playa Blanca stretching from the Pechiguera Point in the west to Los Colorades beach in the east. In fact, Playa Blanca boasts 5 golden sandy beaches and all are well away from the road so are ideal for families and children. Nearby, are also the famous idyllic beaches of Papagayo. Building is prohibited here to keep it unspoilt, but the beaches can be reached by car (although a bit bumpy) and also by sea taxi from the harbour, or by local bus, this now operates every half hour from Papagayo to Faro at a cost of just over one euro.

The resort has plenty of good bars and restaurants our favourites being Romantica, The Jasmine, Tipico Canaria, The Galeria, The Irish Anvil and Fiddlers Bar. The bars are great for keeping up to date with live football and sports, with some having live music.

“Good location but could do with air conditioning”

Reviewed 5 Nov 2016

The bungalow is in an excellent location although, because of the building work taking place at the Iberostar hotel, we did struggle some days to park our hire car near it as the workmen were all parking in the complex. We had a few cockroaches but not a major issue and remedied by leaving a light on. The bungalow is very well equipped but could do with some new cushions for the sunbeds and air conditioning. It was extremely hot whilst we were there and it was difficult to sleep at night because of the heat. We couldn't leave the windows open as there were no mosquito screens at the windows. Unusually for us in the canaries, we suffered from lots of mosquito bites each night, despite keeping the windows closed and using insect repellent. Not sure why. On the first day we reported a broken sunbed to the office and it was replaced straight away. We had a problem with the fridge on the Sunday - it just stopped working and fully defrosted itself. We reported it first thing Monday morning but it then started working again all by itself! Not sure if the office found any issues with it or not. I would agree with a previous reviewer that the towels are very thin. The welcome pack was very much appreciated. The swimming pool is just across the way and we practically had it to ourselves most times. Overall we would definitely recommend the bungalow.

“So very relaxing”

Reviewed 3 Nov 2016

If you want a relaxing break, look no further. The kitchen is very well kitted out, great shower and comfy bed. Sad it doesn't overlook the pool area but the privacy you get and the sun trap of a patio more than makes up for that! Thank you Alex for allowing us to share your villa, hopefully we'll be back again soon.

Thank you for your lovely review. I'm glad you enjoyed it. We look forward too having you stay with us again. Alex

“Great property, excellent location”

Reviewed 19 Jul 2013

Lovely compact property, ideal for a couple, or family with small child. Sun terrace private. Location couldn't be better. Just a few minutes stroll to the local Spar store, and around 10 minutes to the main esplanade in Playa Blanca - all on the level. Scorching weather while we were there, but virtually had the communal swimming pool to ourselves. Agents office just across the road, and very helpful when we had a small problem. The owners were very accommodating and easy to deal with and answered all our mails by return All in all a great location for our holiday, and would be very happy to stay there again.

“Great Villa”

Reviewed 18 Jun 2013

Superb location, just 10 minute walk from the main Playa Blanca promenade. Complex is quiet and relaxing, the villa was immaculate and was finished to an excellent standard. There was a great selection of books to read which came in handy whilst sunbathing. Will definately be booking again

“Beautiful bungalow in excellent location”

Reviewed 7 Feb 2013

Just returned from Casa Veronica where we had a fantastic week in the sun. The bungalow is exactly as described in the advert, with a beautiful kitchen and bathroom - fantastic shower! The owners were a pleasure to deal with and provided lots of useful information. During our stay I was delighted to find that someone had the exact same taste in reading material as me and I spent a number of very pleasant hours on the patio reading an Adriana Trigiani novel. We have stayed at the complex before and chose it again because it is so central for Playa Blanca. We always hire a car as we like to tour about but you really don't need one if you want to just enjoy the pleasure of lovely Playa Blanca. Will definitely book again.

Thank you for your lovely review - so pleased you enjoyed it and love Playa Blanca as much as we do. We would love to have you stay again.

“Fabulous short break.”

A delightful, comfortable bungalow conveniently close to the local town. The owners left a comprehensive guide to the best restaurants and bars, and could not have been more helpful. Highly recommended!

“Fabulous accomodation, clean, contemporary and extremely comfortable.”

Reviewed 22 Jan 2012

We spent 10 nights here and found this little bungalow really comfortably, immediately it felt "home from home". Infact it is the first holiday we have been on where we didn't feel like we were camping out in somebody's house. It is well maintained, clean, modern and well equipped with lots of extras that make a holiday comfortable. The decor is a credit to the owners, who are very happy to provide information/tips i.e. where to visit, car hire and restaurants, etc. The welcome pack was especially appreciated and the card wishing us a pleasant stay was a lovely gesture. The management agency greeted us on arrival and were also very friendly and helpful. All in all, do not hesitate in booking this accomodation, it has all you will need and more, in a perfect part of Lanzarote boasting beautiful scenery and beaches, with excellent bars and restaurants. We will definately be booking again.

“An excellent location and lovely property”

Reviewed 28 Nov 2011

We had a wonderful month in your villa and had settled in nicely after only a day or so. The villa is perfectly situated within easy walking distance of all amentities including supermarkets, bars and restaurants and only 5 minutes walk to the beach. We were very impressed with the size of the kitchen and bathroom. The ceiling fan in the bedroom was invaluable for keeping us cool during the night. The villa was very clean and comfortable. The only negatives are the sun loungers could do with replacing and there was no oven ware so we had to borrow from my parents villa when cooking meals in the oven. We won't hesitate to try to book this villa again in the future.

Hi Thanks for your lovely review and so pleased you had a good holiday. Just to let you know we have replaced the sunloungers and the ovenware, so will be there for you next time. Thanks again Alex
