- Very Good
The villa was excellent Near the best beachs in playa blanca carol & dave gave us great back up with everthing.
“Great villa - fab location”
The location was good, walking distance to Papagayo beaches and Playa Blanca. Stayed there with friends and was the ideal base for exploring the south of the island. The villa was well equipped and had everything we needed for a relaxed and stress free holiday. Many thanks
Owner's reply: Great to hear you enjoyed your stay.
“Well located, superb holiday home.”
Communication with the owner was excellent and they helped us get all the equipment we needed for our little ones. Detailed information provided gave us all the directions, help and suggestions for a great relaxed holiday. The holiday home was attractive well laid, out and very well equipped. It was close to a good Dino supermarket and the new Overseas shop selling English food if thats what you want. It was near to a small beach, nice gift shops and bars at El Pueblo Las Colorados (nowhere nice to eat here though). A pleasant 30 minute walk west along the sea front takes you to Marina Rubicon, a beautiful area with lots of good restaurants with harbour views; would particularly recommend Terraza La Cubierta for fantastic steak! Would visit again in a heartbeat.
Owner's reply: So pleased you enjoyed your stay at Casa Strutt.
Stayed here with friends and had a great time, perfect location & everything you need already in the villa! Carol & Dave were so helpful and made it so easy helping with any enquiries. Would recommend!

“Non Driver first villa holiday”
Our group consisted of my husband, our 19-year-old son and myself. We stayed for 8 nights at the end of May so my apologies for the delay in posting this review. I have always used the services of a travel agent in the past and this was our first ever self-book/ villa holiday. I admit to being very nervous about the whole process especially as we are non-drivers and I was particularly concerned that transport around the villa would be an issue. Dave and Carol communicated with me throughout the booking process (and whilst we were at the villa) which helped ease my worries and their advance information, hints, tips, recommendations, directions etc. were greatly appreciated. We left the airport and easily found the taxi rank which was supervised and right outside the main entrance (we ignored drivers touting inside as we were not convinced they use authorised taxis). The journey to the villa took around 30 minutes at a cost of 50 Euros + tip. We did miss the villa in the dark and had to go around the block again but if we had carefully followed the directions given to us we really shouldn’t have missed it. The taxi drivers English was even less than my very limited Spanish so communication wasn’t easy. This was something I found throughout the island (although menus in restaurants were available in English and many other different languages), why I was surprised at the “lack of English” I really don’t know, I was on a Spanish island after all, but I suppose I am used to going to large touristy places where they seem to make a point of employing English speaking staff. The villa is accurately described on the website and by the many other very satisfied reviewers so there is little point describing it in detail again although I would add my agreement that it is extremely clean and extremely well equipped. I particularly appreciated the washing machine as I managed to wash all our clothes before going home which was a great help as we were returning to have a new kitchen fitted and would be without access to our own machine. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were comfy as we all slept well. We needed the ceiling fans on during the night but I’m not sure how it would be without air-conditioning at the height of summer. The WIFI worked very well which was very important to my teenage son. Whilst the pool isn’t huge and is overlooked from the villas either side it was clean and I enjoyed having it to myself (pool cleaners came once whilst we were there). There is private off street parking for anyone who needs it. The villa itself is in a very quiet residential area just 2 minutes’ walk to a well-stocked Dino supermarket where you can get everything you need for a self-catering holiday including delicious fresh bread and pastries. Fortunately, it is open until 10 pm which was great as we arrived just after 9 pm so we had sufficient time to nip out to get supplies in for breakfast. I noticed when searching for a villa that some arrange welcome food packs and whilst there was no formal pack there were various items available tea, coffee, cooking oil, salt and pepper etc. This was the one thing I forgot to ask about before going and found we needed to replace disposable items during our stay- kitchen rolls, toilet rolls, bin bags, washing up liquid, disinfectant wipes but soap powder and dishwasher tablets were supplied. I think many of the items (including sun cream, shower gels etc) were left over from previous holiday makers; we left various items ourselves, so I do not know what anyone can expect to find on future visits. A taxi rank is opposite Dino’s although we rarely saw a taxi there so ended up using the bus to Playa Blanca and getting a taxi back (4 or 5 Euros +tip). The bus stop was only a further 2 minutes’ walk from Dino’s. The buses are every 30 minutes (even on a Sunday) and the fare was a fixed price of 1 Euro 40 whether going 1 stop or the whole route. There are timetable details in the very full information folder provided by the owners. I did phone and book a taxi (number in information folder) for our return journey to the airport and I managed to easily communicate time and date then had to phone again and change it when I realised I had given the wrong date (still living that one down!) the taxi turned up on time so I now realise I should have phoned and booked a taxi instead of using the bus especially considering the bus fares for the 3 of us wasn’t really much cheaper. The villa is very close to the promenade where a 10/15 minute walk along it will take you to Marina Rubicon. This is a lovely quiet area with lots of restaurants and a small selection of shops and a market twice a week. We ate in several restaurants at the Marina and always had a good meal – they all had entertainment – singers which added to the experience. If you walk for another 10 minutes you will find a lovely little beach, carry on for about another 10 minutes and you will arrive at Playa Blanca itself. Both the Marina and Playa Blanca are very clean and family friendly resort. Playa Blanca is the busier of the two but nowhere near Blackpool level. I have an intermittent problem with my ankle but still managed to walk from Playa Blanca to the villa, I wouldn’t win any awards for speed but it is definitely doable for anyone with reasonable fitness level as it is mainly flat or where needed has ramps for wheelchairs or prams. We went into Playa Blanca on three nights and ate in different restaurants each time but always ended up in the Irish pub –forget its name. The table service in the pub was fantastic and although it had good entertainment each night (singers) it was a bit repetitive as the same guy was singing the exact same playlist 3 nights later. We didn’t venture very far from the villa as my husband was poorly when we arrived (man flu) and as the week went on my son got it too. They both shamelessly used this as an excuse to stay as much as possible reading and sunbathing beside the pool or up on the balcony and outvoted me at every turn when I tried to persuade them to go anywhere. This villa is a lovely place to stay, really comfortable and well decorated and bright and airy with lovely views. Close to all necessary amenities and within easy reach of lovely cafes and restaurants. A car definitely isn't needed and if anyone wanted to explore the island further it is easy and not expensive by public transport. On our return journey to the airport, my husband said he had really enjoyed the holiday and would like to come back to the villa again but next time for 2 weeks as 8 nights wasn’t long enough! Praise indeed from the man who doesn’t really like holidays and in almost 30 years of marriage we have never ever returned to the same holiday hotel/ venue. I did try and book for later this year but the dates I wanted were booked so it will have to be next year. The review form asks "Would you recommend the holiday rental to a friend?" What a dilemma. If I answer truthfully and recommend Casa Strutt I am seriously reducing my chances of getting booked again!!? So I will answer yes but only if they take me with them!
Owner's reply: Thank you so much to taking the time to do a comprehensive review.
“Ticked all our boxes”
The location was for us perfect Plenty of room in the villa and the sun in the back pool area was there from 8am until 6 pm Just the ideal distance to the marina beach 10 minutes and town 20 also the bus stop supermarket And taxi rank outside the front door more or less Carol and Dave were very attentive also Back again next year Steve and Kim
“The villa was amazing, Lanzarote/that area is a nice place to visit/stay!”
Me and a group of my girl mates rented this villa to start off my 25th birthday celebrations! and we loved it! The villa was amazing, very modern, very clean, nicely layed out and the heated pool was gorgeous. The outdoor bbq was a good added bonus. It was nice to eat yummy bbq cooked food in the sunshine while sitting by the pool watching the sun set. The villa owners Carol and Dave were always to hand and were very helpful and quick to respond when needed :) There is a supermarket open all day everyday opposite the villa which was very handy! :) Lanzarote and that area in particular was a nice place to visit and stay. The marina (which has many shops, excursions shops and restaurants for you to sample) was a nice 10mins stroll away, via an amazing scenic view. Such a Gorgeous place to take pictures of! (definitely go on excursions - we went on a volcano and camel trip and i would definitely recommend it - it was a lot of fun) There are plenty of local hire car shops available, however hiring a car is not essential. Cabs are regular and cheap - good service for local trips to/from the marina and to/from the airport - highly recommended! I have recommended this villa to several families since i have been back (and i have only been back 4days!) I would/will definitely be going back to this villa/area of Lanzarote again in the future :) Many thanks again to Carol and Dave Strutt! Lizzie xx
“Fantastic Villia, beautifull location”
My husband and 2 children have just got back from a lovely holiday at Casa Strutt. The villa was like a home from home and we all settled in straight away. The heated pool was a blessing especially for the children. In terms of location it was perfect, there is a lovely walk along the coast to the Marina, where there are lots of lovely restaurants. The local staff were very helpful and friendly in all of the eateries we visited. We had such a great time that we are booking again for next year. Dave and Carol have been a pleasure to deal with every step along the way.
“A home from home in a fabulous location.”
My family and I stayed in Casa Strutt in early July. We had a fabulous time. I would have no hesitation in recommending this villa. The villa had everything one would need on a family holiday. The villa is tastefully decorated and spotless clean, it had a fully workable kitchen with everything on hand. The beds were very comfortable. There was a great selection of books and DVDs. There were ample towels for guests to use which I really appreciated as there were five of us. All my enquiries prior to booking and after were dealt with in a most sufficient manner. The only drawback was that we only booked for one week not two. We certainly will return again
