The Canary Islands region

Lanzarote is situated just 79 miles off the coast of Africa and is the most easterly of the Canary Islands. The island is 37 miles (60km) long and 12 miles (20 km) wide, making it the fourth largest island in the Canaries.
Lanzarote enjoys a mild dry climate with average daytime temperatures ranging from about 21C in January to 29C in August. Annual rainfall is just 140mm (5.5 inches). This makes Lanzarote the perfect year-round destination. As with the other Canary Islands, Lanzarote is Volcanic in origin. Due to the recent eruptions during the 18th and 19th Centuries, many parts of Lanzarote appear to be from another world, often described as lunar
The dry climate (and lack of erosion) means that the Volcanic Landscape appears much as it did just after the eruptions. Amongst the many stunning Volcanic features of Lanzarote is the longest Volcanic Tunnel in the world, the Atlantida Tunnel, which is over 7 km long and includes the La Cueva de los Verdes and Jameos del Agua. Timanfaya National park is a must-see for any visitor to Lanzarote. 50 km of Volcanic Landscape and Craters, as well as the 'El Diablo' Restaurant. The wine Museum of Lanzarote is located at the old cellars of the "El Grifo" Wineries, which were built over the volcanic lava left from the 18th century erupti. Jameos del Agua is a cave complex that includes a natural Concert Hall with wonderful acoustics, subterranean lagoon, a restaurant and a museum.

Playa Blanca

There are a host of things to do in Playa Blanca as well as the obvious attractions of the beaches. The promenade is well worth taking as it links both sides of the resort. It allows you to take in most of the (sea-front) sites of Playa Blanca as well as spectacular Ocean views across the Bocaina Straits to Fuerteventura. The coastline around Playa Blanca is essentially one large 9 kilometre wide bay which is then broken up into three smaller, but still large, bays. This basic geography means that the beaches in and around Playa Blanca are sheltered and ideal for swimming and sunbathing. Playa Blanca has all the normal tourist shops that you would imagine in the centre and along the central part of the beach promenade, although not as many as the other major resorts. If you want a more upmarket style of shopping experience, then the new Marina Rubicon is rapidly becoming the place to go. While you can eat and drink in one of the many bars and restaurants in Playa Blanca, the tone of nightlife here is not as riotous as it is in other resorts on the island,

“Brilliant!”

Reviewed 24 Jul 2016

We have just returned from our week away and we are missing the villa and Lanzorate already. This was a fantastic villa as it had everything you could need. Our kids were constantly in the pool and on the odd occasion they weren't we were down at the lovely beaches. This is my second visit to Lanzorate and this was definitely my favourite stay.

Many thanks, pleased you had a great holiday

“Didnt Want To Leave.”

Just returned home from two weeks at this lovely villa and missing it already. I can only echo what previous reviews have said. This is more than just a holiday rental, it is a home and you can see the effort the owners have put into it to make it just that. Parque Del Rey is a very nice residential estate with a mixture of permanent residents and holiday homes, its a leisurely/pleasant 15/20 min walk to the harbour which we enjoyed doing, admittedly the walk back was a bit of a pain in the backside but a taxi from the harbour was no more than 4euros in the day and 5euros on an evening so it wasn't a problem. The villa itself is perfect for couples or a family of four and has everything you could possibly need. The outside area was lovely, it was a pleasure to sunbathe in and the pool temperature was at times like swimming in a warm bath. I know you don't go on holiday to watch tv but on the occasions we did stay in on an evening you had full sky package to choose from including sports/movies so it was another added bonus.I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this villa to anyone, We are two very satisfied customers and cant wait to return sometime in the future.

So pleased to hear that you had a great holiday and enjoyed the villa, thank you for your feedback.
