The Island is quite small and it only takes just over one hour to drive from North to South.
The roads are very quiet and it is an easy place to drive even if you are not accustomed to driving on the other side of the road. The Spanish people in Lanzarote are very friendly and there is lots to keep you busy.
There is too much to mention but I do have a wonderful Book in the villa with all excursions, beaches and restaurants on the Island. There are many superb beaches. A popular sightseeing trip is "Fire Mountain" in Timanfaya. This is the national volcanic park where you can actually be driven around on a coach to view the aftermath of the volcano and eat a meal cooked on the rocks heated by the smouldering lava.

Playa Blanca

Playa Blanca is the "Lands End" of Lanzarote our villa is in Faro Park. Playa Blanca was once a fishing village but now is a bustling town with many bars, shops and typical Spanish restaurants. There is a Port in the main part of town where you can take a ferry to visit one of the other Islands (Fuerteventura) but I feel sure you will want to stay in Lanzarote as there is so much to see. Our villa is in Faro Park, Faro de Pechiguera (which means the Lighthouse). Villa Rosa was built in 2002 and the area is growing and providing more facilities and activities for the holidaymaker to enjoy. As mentioned we have the advantage of being very close to the Sea and local shops. If you enjoy walking along the coastal path not surrounded by lots of people this is ideal for you. You can walk along the coastal path until you arrive at an excellent restaurant for breakfast. Or eat in our local parade 5 mins walk away. Or you can keep walking until you arrive in main Playa Blanca and get a taxi home if it is too hot to walk back. Excellent fishing close to the Villa. Bicycle hire available within 20 minutes walk of villa.

“So good I want to go back”

Reviewed 27 Jan 2017

Pauline was a pleasure to deal with from my very first enquiry, answering every query and request promptly. The villa is exactly as described on this site. Everything was ready when we (myself, husband and 19 year old son) arrived and the villa and pool were spotlessly clean. Unlike other similar villas that we have previously stayed in, Villa Rosa has an indoor dining table and chairs and heating in the lounge which helped take the chill off the slightly cool January evenings. We ate out in the local restaurants half the time, the rest of the time we cooked in the villa. Plenty of pots, pans, cutlery, crockery etc. Also a great selection of herbs/spices/condiments etc to use. Overall Villa Rosa is very well equipped. The beds were clean and comfy with plenty of pillows. Towels were all provided and were still nice and fluffy. We were there in January and had requested the pool heating which made it lovely and warm. We swam in it every day. We didn't use the large outdoor unheated one beside the villa but I'm sure in the summer it would be great. We experienced some very wintery winds while we were there, but there was always plenty of space in the garden/pool area to find a sheltered sunny corner to sit and relax and soak in the heat. Villa Rosa is situated in a nice quiet and well maintained residential area only a few minutes walk to two shops and a number of restaurants. We had hired a car from AutoReisin so travelled a bit around the island. Found the best place for doing a big shop was Lidl in Puerto del Carmen (especially for meat & veg). Everything else we got in the local shop. I loved this villa and would definitely book it again.

Dear Eunice. I am so pleased everything was good for your holiday in our villa and really appreciate the lovely review. I know January can be cool and that is why we put the electrically heated fireplace in the lounge. We normally - like yourselves - eat at the dining table in the lounge in winter. As we used to live at the villa for two years we realised that Lanzarote does get cool in the winter evenings but our villa is warmer than most. Thanks again and glad you were comfortable. Best wishes Pauline

“Wonderful Villa, Wonderful Owners.”

Reviewed 27 Jan 2017

We have rented many, many places over the years, in Lanzarote. This one, by an absolute mile, is the best ever. The villa itself is just fabulous. It's decorated and furnished to the highest standard. The beds are really comfy, as our the settees. The kitchen is equipped with everything you can think of, including proper mugs, for a proper cuppa!! The internet is fast and the English TV channels and DVD collection were a bonus on the cooler days, during our seven week stay over winter. The villa is a short walk to the bus stop, the local shops and restaurants. The outside of the villa is of the same standard as the inside. It has two sets of tables and chairs and four comfy sunbeds. The pool is kept at a lovely 28 degrees and is looked after by Chris, the pool man. A lovely man, just don't ask him to sing! But by far, the best thing about this villa is Pauline, the owner. From our very first contact with her, she has been friendly, efficient, helpful and incredibly kind. Because we were staying over Christmas, she left us a Christmas tree, a bottle of Cava and a bag of lovely, thoughtful little presents. What a lovely lady. Needless to say, we would thoroughly recommend the villa and owner to anyone. If you're unsure at all about booking, don't be. Just book it. If you can find any availability, that is!! You will not be disappointed. Thank you Pauline.

Dear Eunice and David. Thank you so much for your wonderful review and really really pleased you enjoyed the villa. You stated for 7 weeks inc Xmas and new year and I am delighted everything went okay. Xmas is a special occasion and so glad it will bring you happy memories. Thanks so much. Pauline

“PERFECT VILLA AND QUIET AREA”

Reviewed 10 Aug 2016

We spent a lovely week in May 2016 at the villa. I had never booked a property direct from an owner before but after reading the reviewsI thought I would take the plunge! We are a family of 3 and the villa was a lot more spacious than we had expected. The kitchen was really well equipped with everything we needed. Beach towels are in the villa plus hairdryer - which we found out beforehand so we could travel lighter. There were at least 3 ( private) sunny terraces or if you wanted shade you could easily find the shaded one. Everything was rwell thought of. It was a home from home and we feel the apartment lacked nothing. It even had a Nespresso coffee machine in the kitchen. The wifi was good as well as having the English television. From the first contact with Pauline I found her very helpful with everything I asked about and all through the booking process. She has a lady who looking after the villa who visited us during our stay who was very helpful. We did hire a car and the drive was an easy 40 minutes from the airport and the car hire was about £70 for the week. Faro Park is about 10 minutes drive out of Playa Blanca main area and is a complete area of its own with a good selection of restaurants, bars and a supermarket that was always open whatever time of day. There is a coastal path ( which is about 5 minutes walk from the villa) - so if you enjoy walking it is possible to walk all the way into the Port of Playa Blanca but we only made it to the first lot of bars and restaurants which is about a 40 minute walk. We found a lovely bar / restaurant overlooking the sea to eat breakfast which they served till gone noon and then walked back to the villa for our afternoon sunbathing and swim. A perfect holiday.

Thanks so much Lynne for the review and hope you visit again. Just one error - our coffee machine is Tassimo not Nespresso. Very best wishes Pauline

“Quiet and Relaxing”

Reviewed 29 Jun 2016

We all had a fabulous time in Lanzarote. The villa was clean and spacious with a large pool and an external seating area. With the cool evenings we utilised the dining area/second lounge opening onto the patio. I would recommend this villa to both families and couples as it is a quiet and relaxing area but is in walking distance to local restaurants and bars. All the amenities in Playa Blanca can be accessed either by bus, car or bike. We will definitely be back - Thank You Pauline

Thanks so much Tony and Karen for the review of our villa and your info really helps future guests as to the area and what the villa offers. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. Many thanks, Pauline

“Perfectly relaxing holiday.”

A fantastic week was had for all the family. Very spacious, well equipped, with a lovely private pool, used every day. In a quiet part of playa blanca. A beautiful costal walk to the main resort, but equally lovely to have a shop, bar, restaurant and bakery, around the corner. Definitly planning our next visit.

“Best villa with a child-friendly pool, English TV, plenty of places to visit and great local restaurants/bars!”

Reviewed 13 Apr 2012

This is the best villa we have stayed in and it's perfect for our family as there was a gate around the pool for child safety. Local restaurants and bars were very good and they saved us using the car every night. The costal path was near to villa and we enjoyed morning walks with the children. They enjoyed the lovely rock pools as they could fish with their nets. We visited some really interesting places and it was good to come home to such a comfortable villa that I cooked in as well.   The English tv was definitely a bonus and we understand there will be wifi for summer 2012 which will be an extra bonus for us.

“Fantastic!”

Reviewed 12 Apr 2012

We stayed in December 2011 and what an amazing break it was! The weather was great and the villa was top quality. We paid extra for the heated pool which was well worth the money as the main pool was quite cold but we had luxury! The villa was in great condition and we loved the location. It was quiet enough to be secluded but near enough to go for good nights out and visit the beaches. I have already recommended this to friends and we will definitely go again.
