Location description from owner

The Canary Islands region

With Lanzarote being only 100km from the African coast, you can be sure of good weather all year round, with temperatures ranging from about 20-30 degrees centigrade. As with other islands in the Canaries, Lanzarote is volcanic in origin, with the last eruptions in the 18th and 19th centuries, which can be clearly seen throughout the Island. The artist, Cezar Manrique was a major influence on Lanzarote, not just in his art, which you will see everywhere, but also in persuading the Government that there should be no high rise buildings, which makes Lanzarote more pleasing to the eye, unlike other Canarian Islands. There is much to see and do whilst you are in Lanzarote, some of our favourite places include the Cactus garden, Jameous del Aqua, Lag-O-mar, Teguise market, Famara and Puerto Calero to name just a few.

Playa Blanca

Playa Blanca is our favourite town in Lanzarote, hence we bought the villa here. There are some wonderful beaches, safe and with loads of activities to enjoy. There are also the world famous Papagayo beaches, totally non-commercial, and the best on the island. There are many bars and restaurants in the town, too many perhaps to try them all, but give it a go all the same! Running parallel to the sea front prom, there is a pedestrianized area, again with many shops and restaurants. Just along the coast from the town, you will find the Marina Rubicon. As well as many moored yachts there, you will find designer shops, bars and restaurants, and also a market on Wednesday and Saturday.

There are many places to hire cars and bikes, as well as companies who do Island excursions. In Las Coloradas you can hire Segways for a few hours of fun.You can also have lessons in Diving & Sailing nearby.

“Fantastic Holiday”

Reviewed 18 Oct 2016

Absolutely loved our week at Villa Elizabeth during October. The weather was still very warm and the pool was lovely to lounge around and take a dip to cool down. The villa is very private and we were not disturbed once. The directions given were good and easy to follow and we found the place straight away. We were created by Ann and a welcome pack was provided that included milk, bread, tea and coffee which was a lovely touch after a full day of travelling. We used the market within the immediate area and found everything we needed. Hot tub was lovely on the evenings we stayed in and we made use of the BBQ. Villa was well equipped and we were short of nothing in the kitchen. Playa blanca its self is lovely relaxed place, we loved it and returning next year. The communication from Claire and Barry, Ann and Mike was excellent. Claire made the process of booking really easy and Ann and Mike were great once we arrived on the island. Would recommend the villa to anyone wanting to visit playa blanca. Villa was really big and you will not be disappointed... very happy with our choice

Thank you for your lovely review Sarah, very much appreciated. Welcome back anytime!

“Perfect Honeymoon”

Reviewed 13 Jan 2015

We had the perfect honeymoon base while staying in Mike & Anne's. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed to relax after the madness of organising a wedding. The little touches such as the bottle of wine with our names on it, the snacks in the fridge on arrival, the books, music, dvds, bikes etc. were all lovely touches. While being in a quiet area but having easy access to Playa Blanca (either a short bus ride, a medium cycle or a nice long walk 40 mins) meant that we felt we had the best of both worlds. Thank you Mike and Anne, we will remember your villa with fondness for the rest of our days, Siobhan & Ciaran Flanagan

“Great Villa”

Reviewed 17 Oct 2014

You can be assured of a very warm welcome from Ann and Mike if you choose to stay at this Villa. The Villa itself is spotless and spacious and would suit either a group of friends or a family. Close to the bus route that will take you into Town or to the Marina. The local restaurants were very good and there is a supermarket close by. My sister and myself really enjoyed our stay there and hope we can get to go back again one day.

“Excellent service from the owners!”

Reviewed 1 Sep 2014

Arrived late at night to be met by the owners, Ann and Mike, who showed us around Villa Elizabeth and explained the locality.. then presented us with a bottle of Champagne to toast our holiday! Very well equipped villa located in a quiet area outside Playa Blanca town. Excellent bakery and nice restaurants locally but we enjoyed going into Playa Blanca for several evening meals. The pool was great and just the right temperature surrounded by plenty of space for us to chill on the sunbeds. We also enjoyed early morning coffee overlooking Montana Roja and the seascape over to Fuerteventura from the private balcony/terrace of the master bedroom. Relaxing family holiday made all the more special by the excellent service from the owners. Thank you again!

“Total relaxation in the perfect location.”

Reviewed 22 Sep 2013

We as a family have stayed at this villa 3 times in the past so knew what to expect from our holiday and we were not disappointed. We had an extended rental of four weeks on this occasion as it was my wife's retiral holiday of choice. For the first two weeks our son, his fiancée and our daughter stayed with us and they had the bedrooms on the ground floor while we stayed in the palatial en suite bedroom upstairs with the large and private balcony. While the villa itself is roomy and comfortable its the pool area that makes these holidays. A lovely spacious patio, good sized pool, hot tub, big proper barbeque and two outside eating areas. A sun bed for everyone, no need to get up and put a towel down! There are lots of villas and residential complexes all around Playa Blanca but for us Faro Park beats them all. Local supermarkets, a bakery, pubs and really good restaurants all 5 minutes walk round the corner from the villa. There is a local bus service too, every half hour 1.35 euro flat fare to take you into town or out to the terminus at the Papagayo area. We always hire a car too for seeing the island, going to the bigger supermarkets in town and going into town for dinner at night, we park at the ferry port. Taxi back to the villa costs under 6 euros and then the next day walk in along the lovely paved coastal path (about 3 miles/ 5 kilometres) passing some big hotels, beaches and watering holes along the way(if needed), also views to Fuerteventura. Playa Blanca itself is in our view the best resort on the island. Lots of lovely restaurants and bars and shops and its own town beach. Recommend going into town about lunch time and sitting at a seafront bar with a drink and just watch the people. Its smaller and not as busy as Costa Teguise and Puerto del Carmen. Then finally there is the lovely Mike and Ann who look after you so well. They provided a customised music cd for us which will forever remind us of our great holiday. We will return for sure.

“Perfect Villa and great hosts”

Reviewed 15 Nov 2012

We stayed here in July with our 2 teenagers. The villa was spotless and as we arrived after 9pm it was lovely to find the lights on and and mike and Ann waiting to show us round and had a chilled bottle of bubbly and welcome pack. The pool was clean and clear every day and due to the location it was so peaceful. Local shops just a couple of minuites walk and the villa is really well equipped. Would we come back? In a flash! Thank you so much for helping us to have a brilliant holiday x

“Homesick and it was holiday!!!”

Reviewed 17 Oct 2012

Well what can we say....from the very start of our holiday until our goodbyes the hospitality of Mike and Ann was first class. We felt so looked after which was more than welcomed on our first visit to the island. Little touches such as the bubbly reception on arrival personalised bottle of wine and personalised cd made us feel very relaxed and special. We booked the villa directly the contact and information provided was second to none and we had to change our date to which Mike and Ann could not have been more accomodating which was a great relief, most certainly wouldnt get this from a travel agent!! We would go back if only to visit Mike and Ann! The villa itself is fantastic infact we didn't want to leave. Very spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean we called it our home from home. The pool was great and more than welcomed on those hot days and the jacuzzi was a firm favourite especially for myself who arrived on crutches anyone going with aches and pains book this villa and get in the jacuzzi! The villa is conveniently positioned just a 5 min stroll to the local shops where you will find 2 supermarkets, a lovely bakery which does a great breakfast and patissieris, an italian, the port of call restaurant and our fave was The Lighthouse were they do a sunday carvery which is highly recommended however also popular so pre book your table! The fillet steak best wev'e had for a long time. Also at the end of the shops is the bus stop where you can catch the number 30 Playa Blanca and get into town for 1 euro 30cents. Excellent service the bus runs evey half hour 20 past and 10 to and always bang on time. The journey itself takes about 10 min. The town of Playa blanca has all you could need from supermarkets to the usual holidays souvenirs. At the promenade which is well worth a walk there are some great restaurants all the way along and different beaches. If you enjoy indian there is Fazz'z and afterwards enjoy the Manea Bar underneath where you can relax on the sofas, beds and enjoy some great cocktails overlooking the sea well worth a night out here! I can't really say there is anything we liked least. The whole resort was great. The view in the villa from the balcony off the master bedroom was favourtite of mine at night. So quiet, great to sit with a drink and listen to the sea, watch the lighthouse and we even saw some shooting stars. We had a Fantastic holiday and would have no hesitation in returning I just hope we will be able to get booked after this review.

“What an introduction to the Canary Islands”

Reviewed 28 Sep 2012

Have to say a massive thanks to Mike and Anne for making our first stay in Lanzarote a very memorable. A wonderful reception from them on arrival. The villa is perfect for our rather large family in beautiful surroundings very close to the promenade in Playa Blanca. The good thing is you feel like you're miles away from everything in the villa but you're not. Local amenities are a stones throw away and Playa Blanca town is a ten minute bus ride. Our first time in Lanzarote as I've said but I will certainly be contacting Mike and Anne when we decide to go again. Thanks again guys for a wonderful holiday :-)

“Wounderful Villa”

My wife and I were delighted with villa, and in particular the welcome Mike and Ann provided on our arrival. They set the scene for one of the best holidays we have had. All the accommodation provided was first class. The location suited us perfectly, quite but with easy access to everything we required.
