Description

The newly renovated residence is located in an over 200 year old, beautifully restored palazzo right in the historic center of the fishing village Pizzo, above the "Costa degli Dei", Coast of Gods - between Amalfi and Sicily.

Enjoy the peaceful location above the sea while at the same time the bustling Piazza della Repubblica of the old town center - with its bars, ice cream parlors, restaurants, little grocery shops, and many activities in summer - is just a 3 minutes walk away!

In just a 10-15 minutes walk you can reach the beach at Pizzo Marina. With more restaurants and a bar.

20 stairs down in a rock, about 50 meter above sea level, you will enjoy this spacious apartment (about 70 sqm) and 180 degree sea view and beautiful sunsets. On a clear day, the volcanic island Stromboli (part of the Aeolian islands of Sicily) might appears in the distance.

The apartment, located in the "seminterrato" (basement) of the palazzo, features old stone walls and a vaulted stone ceiling. It is bright with windows facing the sea, a tiny French balcony and a large private garden terrace (about 20 sqm). The terrace has a bit of late morning sun and more sun in the afternoon, depending on the season (a bit less from October to April than the rest of the year).

There is a red kitchenette equipped for self-catering, including a microwave/oven, gas stove and fridge.

The bathroom has a shower, sink, WC and bidet. From the bathroom window you also have sea view.

The living area and bedroom are separated by an antique wooden paravent.

You do not really need a car, if you stay at Palazzo Pizzo Residence as we are so conveniently located and everything is in walking distance. Other areas of Pizzo, Pedigrotta, Marinella or Marina can also be reached with an Ape-Taxi Service from the main piazza.

Pizzo is an ideal place for many day trips to explore Calabria. If you want to explore, you better rent a car (public transport is limited).

But plan to rent a SMALL car, as the alleys in the historic center are very narrow. Usually you can find parking space in the alleys around - or we will show you free public parking.

Don't want to prepare breakfast at home? Walk 2 minutes to the piazza, and choose one of the many bars. They all will make you a freshly brewed cappuccino and serve pastry. Don't want to cook? Eating out is a pleasure in Calabria. Food quality is great and it is very affordable. We have compiled a guidebook for our guest to find the best spots in and around Pizzo.

The City of Pizzo Calabro has extended the tourist city tax to the vacation home rental. The due tax of 2,00 euro per person per night (to be paid in cash upon arrival) is applied from June 1st to September 30th for a maximum of 7 nights stay. Children up to 16 years old are excluded.

Details of your passport will be collected upon arrival. The above may change according to city law without prior notice.

The parking situation in Pizzo's centro storico is difficult. Parking within yellow stripes is only for residents with official permission, within blue stripes it costs 1 Euro per hour (please check actual situation) Parking within white strip zones is free. Please contact us if you need a secured parking. Upon availability we can offer free and secured parking.

Getting around

You can go by train to visit Tropea, Scilla and Reggio Calabria. If you want to explore Calabria further we recommend to use a car as the public transport mainly goes only along the coast. Nearest airport (25 km) is Lamezia (SUF) and nearest train station (1.5 km walk) is "Pizzo". The second train station, a bit outside of town (taxi booking required for pick up) is about 5 min drive away.

We will meet you at check-in and make sure you get to know the apartment as well as the location.
