Amazing location, ideal for a relaxing break in the Cotswolds. Family house (not a holiday chalet) in the middle of Cleeve Common, with gardens and fantastic views over historic, Regency Cheltenham Spa.
Sleeps 7 people easily in 3 double bedrooms and one single. (Additional adults and children may be accommodated by arrangement - please ask). The property has recently undergone a full refurbishment. More photos will be added soon. Pets welcome too!
The Cotswold Way passes through Cleeve Common which offers excellent walking, mountain-biking, horse riding or golfing. Cheltenham town centre is 12 minutes by car from the house. Bus service as well as hotels and restaurants/bars are a short walk/drive across the common.
Cleeve Hill makes a perfect base for a visit to a wide range of places – anywhere in the Cotswolds such as Cirencester, Stow on the Wold or Bourton on the Water as well as day trips to Oxford, Stratford on Avon, Bristol, Worcester or Birmingham (all of which are about an hour away using the M5 motorway or Wales, about 1 1/2 hours).
Would suit large family group up to 10 adults/children (5/6 adults, without sharing bedrooms). There is an emperor size (7' x 7') bed in the master bedroom and Super-king size double beds in the other two double bedrooms. Twin beds can be arranged for the two smaller double bedrooms if preferred. Childrens' small beds and cots can be arranged. The master bedroom has en-suite facilities while the other bedrooms share a family bathroom. There is a further cloakroom at the bottom of the stairs.
Ground floor (wood floors throughout)
Fully equipped kitchen with a mixture of traditional painted wood cupboards and modern units and breakfast bar (currently undergoing refit to a high standard, pictures to follow) with oil-fired Aga (winter only) and French doors to rear garden and seating area. Large comfortable sitting room (approx 6 metres x 5 metres) with stone fire place and open wood burning fire. Seating for up to 12 people - 2 sofas, 2 armchairs plus additional chairs and leather footstools. French doors to garden and outdoor seating area. Large plasma flat screen TV with satellite TV and DVD player.
Separate library/small sitting room with wood-burning stove. There is a small double sofa bed in this room; however, the downstairs toilet and washing facilities are at the opposite end of the house.
Cloakroom with toilet and sink off the entrance hall .
Upstairs (all 4 bedrooms are carpeted)
Master bedroom (approx 6 metres by 5 metres), double height ceiling, French doors and large en-suite with spacious shower.
2 further double bedrooms and one (small) single room, all with wardrobes, chests of drawers and bedside tables.

The house is set in its own gardens and there is parking for up to 3 cars at the front. Please note access is across the common via a track which can be negotiated by any vehicle, provided taken slowly. However, if your car is very “low-slung”, a vehicle for crossing the common can be made available by arrangement.
The property is let with all facilities including 62” Plasma TV with satellite signal, DVD player, free wi-fi, oil-fired AGA (in winter) and central heating, Siemens microwave/traditional cooker and grill, ceramic hob, washing machine and dishwasher and large fridge and freezer.

The Cotswolds region
Cleeve Hill, on the edge of the range of hills known as the Cotswolds, is within easy access to all the famous tourist destinations (Stow on the Wold, Cirencester, Bourton on the water). Just above the hamlet where this cottage is located is Cleeve Cloud which, at 330 metres, is the highest point in the Cotswolds.
The historic spa town of Cheltenham is easily accessible (12 mins by car) and the medieval town of Tewkesbury with its stunning Abbey is just 9 miles away. There are excellent pubs and restaurants close by and a surfeit of picturesque villages to visit.
Above the Severn river valley, the cottage is in a superb position for exploring the West Country, Cotswolds, Wye Valley, Shakespeare Country, Forest of Dean, Malverns and the Black Mountains and even a days visit into Wales is easily manageable. The area boasts beautiful countryside, hill walks (as hard or easy as you like) and outdoor pursuits such as golfing, horse riding or mountain biking.
And when you want something more highbrow there are all the Cheltenham festivals - literary, musical, scientific and of course horse-racing. Be in Birmingham or Bristol Concert halls in a little over an hour. Or visit the historic university city of Oxford.
