The Scotland region

The historic university and golfing town of St Andrews is only a 20 minute drive away and offers good shopping, eating and entertainment possibilities. With a comparatively dry climate, coastal walks, beaches, heritage sites and numerous links golf course, the area has much to offer the visitor.
The Fife Coastal path provides a scenic pedestrian link to all the other villages of the East Neuk. It is 35 minutes by car or taxi to Leuchars, the nearest Station on the main East Coast rail line. There are bus services that stop in Pittenweem - refer (website hidden)

Pittenweem

Located in Pittenweem, the remaining working fishing village in the East Neuk of Fife, the house is centrally positioned at the east end of the quite village high street, within a Conservation Area. A narrow wynd (path) adjacent to the house passes the historic St Fillan's cave and leads directly down to the picturesque harbour bordered by traditional whitewashed, pantiled and crow-stepped gable houses, with the added life and interest of the working fishing boats. The property is a well equipped four apartment family house with a large childsafe rear garden with magnificent views across the Firth of Forth towards the Bass Rock and North Berwick. Shopping is extremely easy further along the High Street - bakers with fresh baked rolls etc, a convenience store, chemist and Post Office, a very good fish and chip shop, coffee shop, galleries, craft and antique shops. There are good restaurants in Pittenweem and the East Neuk area generally.

“Just Perfect - a Haven in the East”

Reviewed 11 Sep 2016

We stayed at this holiday house for a week in September. It really is the perfect spot for a relaxing break! The house is very well equipped, really comfortable and has everything you would need! I loved the mix of old and new, took me back to my childhood - the rose posy bowls in particular! We loved the garden and sat out as often as we could! The chippy across the road was very handy, the bakery and other shops were all lovely. We walked in all directions, visited local farm shops, went to st Andrew's for a couple of great beach walks. We had our wee dog with us and she was catered for in lots of cafes, coffee shops, restaurants! We also used the local buses in the evening. Great service and meant we could enjoy a wee glass of wine! If you like eating out, the Ship Inn at Elie has a courtesy taxi service! Grt idea! Overall we had a great time, pittenweem is a lovely wee village, the harbour setting with all the colourful cottages is a great way to relax, a walk along the front with an ice cream and the smell of the sea, just perfect!!

Thank you so much for your lovely review. Delighted to hear you had such a relaxing break staying in Easthaven, but also found so many nice things to do in the surrounding area.
