Description from owner

Sea Glint is a delightful self catering cottage near the sea front in the quiet fishing village of Pittenweem. The house is a Listed 18th Century cottage restored in 2006 to a high standard. Close to the harbour, Sea Glint benefits from a pleasant and sheltered courtyard. If you're looking for a restful coastal break in Fife, self catering at Sea Glint will provide a comfortable and relaxing environment moments from the sea. The cottage has recently won a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for 2014.

Accommodation is on three floors with living room, one double bedroom, two single bedrooms, kitchen dining room, bathroom and second WC. The top floor has been converted to a bright and spacious open plan lounge. From the kitchen door you can see the Bass Rock. The sheltered courtyard provides a quiet place to relax and enjoy the sounds of the sea and the gulls.

Sea Glint has great appeal and charm, is ideal for short breaks or longer stays throughout the year and is suitable for couples or a small family. Its interior has genuine character and comfort with tasteful furnishings in a traditional style.

As some of our guests have allergies, we regret we cannot accept dogs or permit smoking.

Very Good

“Great as usual”

Reviewed 22 Jul 2016

A lovely fortnight back at Sea Glint. This time we were walking the entire Fife Coastal Path from Forth to Tay road bridges and as the cottage is on the path it meant we could easily access the various stretches. Tv has been upgraded since we were last here and all the windows have been replaced. Alan and Christine look after the place. The only minus is I am too tall for the bed as it has a footboard - but that's my issue not theirs!

“Lovely cottage”

Lovely cottage in quiet picturesque surroundings, near the harbour. Fully equipped and in excellent condition.

Thoroughly enjoyed our week at Sea Glint. Accommodation at the usual high standard, welcome touches always appreciated. We spent a lot of time out and about visiting local attractions and walking the coastal path. Highly recommended!

“Quirky, cosy, well appointed cottage by the sea.”

Very clean, cosy cottage with everything we needed. Lovely villages nearby and the Fisheries museum at Anstruther highly recommended. The kids enjoyed having a single room to themselves, and the cottage is filled with covatable furniture and ornaments. Kitchen well equipped.

“Lovely quirky cottage”

Reviewed 8 Oct 2014

Very comfortable and beautifully decorated cottage with everything we needed for our stay. A bonus was the lovely sheltered courtyard garden. Very close to the picturesque harbour area and a few minutes walk from all the local amenities. Ideally located for exploring the East Neuk and St Andrews. Great for walking, golfing, photography, golf or just relaxing. Plenty of good restaurants close by too.

“Sea Glint Pittenweem”

Reviewed 28 Aug 2014

Our stay was most enjoyable in this wonderful part of Fife. The house has been refurbished to a very high standard with all modern amenities. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone interested in staying in the east Neuk of Fife. The location is ideal for walks along the coastal trail and the scenery is for ever changing with the boat traffic in the Firth.

Owner's reply: Thanks for your email, Jimmy, explaining you accidentally hit 2 rather than 5 stars for key pickup/access to the property. We're very pleased you had no problems accessing the cottage. Again, thanks for your kind review and we're delighted the two of you had such a lovely time. Best wishes to you both.

“Lovely, welcoming, cosy cottage by the sea.”

My toddler son and I had a wonderful stay at Sea Glint. The cottage is so comfortable and really nicely furnished; modern but not bland. Everything you need for your stay is here and it's in a great location right at the harbour. Kids will love the quirky layout of the cottage and adults will enjoy chilling out here. The weather was terrible when we stayed, but going out for wet and windy walks was somehow tolerable knowing we were coming back to the cottage!

“Cosy and invigorating at the same time”

Reviewed 8 Jan 2014

We're fortunate to have stayed in lots of self-catering cottages over the years, but we never return to the same place twice; probably because we always like to discover new places. Well, Sea Glint is an exception: we returned there for the 2nd time to welcome in 2014 ... and we certainly weren't disappointed. In the heart of winter when the days are so short and the windy nippy, like in the glory of long June evenings, Sea Glint was a delight. It's cosy, well appointed, and with a tasteful decor. We love it and we absolutely love Pittenweem. Go if you get the chance. If you like the sea in all weathers, invigoratingly windy as it was for us this time, or glittering in the sun, you'll enjoy this place!

“Entschleunigung in sea glint - a very nice Palace to calm down”

Reviewed 4 Dec 2013

We had a wonderful time in this nice house. just some steps away from the harbour of pittenweem.every room showed us the sea-theme in a particular lovely way. the contacts with alan and the hints he gave us where really nice and helpful.we could enjoy our vacation from the date of booking til the end.thank you!

“East Neuk Paradise Nest”

Reviewed 16 Jul 2013

Sea Glint is a beautiful home nestled behind the sea front houses along Pittenweem Harbor. Pittenweem itself is the loveliest of the fishing villages on this part of the coast and an excellent place to begin walks on the coastal path toward Anstruther or St. Monans. The town is compact but complex and offers very fine if modest food at the pub, cafes, and fish and chops shop. Access to the sea and the sea path is outstanding. Sea Glint is a marvelous house with a distinctively nautical feel and it is a sort of microcosm of the town with its intricate structure and its high lofted rooms rising from the courtyard. It is delightfully private, quiet, and aesthetically pleasing at every turn. The furniture, kitchen ware, appliances, bathrooms, as well as all the other accoutrements, are plentiful, in excellent repair, and well-suited for holiday visits. This is an extraordinarily comfortable and interesting house. If I had a home in Scotland I would want this one. We hope to return. Absolutely wonderful.
