Located in heart of Loch Rannoch’s beautiful and breath taking scenery, this brand new beautifully designed (split level) self-catering lodge offers unparalleled luxury in the heart of highland Perthshire. Clachan Talladh has it all for whatever type of holiday you are seeking. The active and adventurous can try mountain climbing, mountain biking and hill walking around the magnificent Schiehallion (Fairy Mountain) and the other famous local Munro's. These guard some of the most beautiful waters in Scotland both geographically and scenically. There are many historic castles, ruins and towns. It is no wonder that it provided breath taking backdrops to famous films, such as Harry Potter. Spoilt for choice, you can just 'pick and mix' the activities on a daily basis.

Clachan Talladh provides the substantial and flexible accommodation for a get away from it all environment. The unique 'great room' is the focal point of this large self catering property which can comfortably accommodate up to 9 people. The accommodation comprises large lounge, kitchen/dining room, four double bedrooms, a bathroom, toilet and an en-suite shower room.

There are picturesque views from all bedrooms.onto the river front and the sloping hillside with woodland at the back. There is decking all around the house with seating provided at the front and on the patio at the back. So you can sit and watch the world go by or dine alfresco.

All bedrooms have quality furniture like wardrobes and bedsit cabinets with lamps.

“A wonderful retreat from life’s stresses”

We have just returned from a truly wonderful week in this fabulously located home. The location is very remote but we knew that when we booked. If you don’t like long drives to civilisation or no mobile reception then it’s not the place for you, but if you can cope with those things then you will be rewarded with a lovely spacious home in a peaceful and spectacular location (our tip is to book an Asda delivery to save on any long trips to the shops) The house itself is well equipped and the beds comfortable. The kitchen is well laid out with lots of utensils (the only gripe being neither of the 2 tin openers work). The lounge is very impressive (acoustics can be loud with 4 children there but then when is a house with 4 children in it ever quiet). The loch is stunning and we were blessed with fabulous weather meaning lots of time spent on the little stony beaches down the road skimming stones The owner was very prompt with communications and extremely helpful. We will definitely stay again if we head back to that area

if you take plenty of milk bread etc ( some drink) you donot need to put your hand in your pocket while there. plenty places to walk and the water for the kids. peace and quiet area just what most people need to relax.we had 7 kids and 4 adults and we had a good time kids did not want to come home.

“Beautiful place to stay”

Myself and a large group of friends rented this over a weekend to just to get away for a while and have some peace and quiet. The lodge is absolutely stunning with lovely features such as large panel windows in the living room and modern kitchen/bathrooms. The little garden area was also a nice touch. I would advise to watch the heating depending when you go as we had trouble getting the right temperature going through the house. Also I can't remember exactly but i think the smaller bathroom which was toliet and sink didn't have a working lock on it? Overall had a lovely weekend, scenery is breath taking, and we were lucky enough to see some deer/red squirrels. Will definitely be going back for longer next time.

Owner's reply: Thanks Hannah. The underfloor heating's time constant probably could not cope with the four seasons in one-day weather we have been having. The lock on the little WC is small and easy to miss. We hope to host to again soon.

I booked this lodge for a surprise birthday weekend for my boyfriend, booking was easy and the owners of the lodge were very nice to chat with through email. We found it easily enough using our TomTom. Beautiful scenery and surroundings, bring a camera! Everything was perfect! Very had to fault anything except maybe put out another linen basket for departing. We had a party of 8 people for 2 nights, so bedding and lots of towels. Maybe WiFi but that is not a necessity. Definately come back here again!!

Owner's reply: Thanks Jill. We will see to another linen basket. The house is BT connected now but the BT hub is in the cupboard. I have not had a chance to get there to hook it up because almost every weekend seems to be booked.

“Beautiful Location”

We highly recommend this lodge which is extremely spacious, bright, warm and comfortable. It was very well equipped with everything we could require. We cooked our meals every day in the lodge and I particularly liked the kitchen area. However stock up on food as the local shop is situated about 12 miles away in Kinloch Rannoch. You will find the lodge at the far end of Loch Rannoch opposite the Bridge of Gaur road which means you can approach the lodge from both sides of the loch offering different perspectives. We stayed in September when the weather wasn’t great however this did not prevent us from having as smashing time and we also found many things to do locally like watching a shepherd and his dog trying to control sheep in a field behind the Dunalistair hotel and travelling to places of interest such as a visit to Blair Athol castle situated not far from Pitlochry (highly recommended). A profitable day out at the charming Perth racecourse and a train ride from Rannoch station, just up the road, to Fort William where one can catch a steam train trip to Mallaig and back again but you need to book ahead for this. All in all we enjoyed a fantastic break away and look forward to coming again next year. Thanks Mohan & Janani

I cant begin to tell you how much of a good time we had at the weekend. The house was lovely and had absolutely everything we could have asked for. The weather wasn't great, but it didn't stop our enjoyment one bit. The space in the living room was great and felt like a function suite rather than a living room. Already thinking of some dates for next year so I will no doubt be in touch again!

“Beautiful, light airy house in stunning location”

We weren't quite prepared for how remote this place is but what an amazing location. Unspoilt wilderness and lung-busting fresh air all around. The house is spacious, warm, light and airy and we found everything we needed. We loved the lounge with its double height atrium and under-floor heating. We cooked in the house every night and had a blast - all mod cons so no worries on the catering front. Bring all the food you need as the shops are miles away. A sharp knife wouldn't have gone amiss but apart from that but very little to criticise - would thoroughly recommend it.

Owner's reply: It is great to know that we have helped people's enjoyment. Please try the other seasons as well. I just drove back this morning after painting the kitchen. The sun rising through the low mist in the valleys with the heather in full colour made my back ache go away.

The house was just as it was portrayed or more. Very spacious, classy and many homey touches. If you want to get away from it all but still have comfort this is the place to go. The owners even send you local information about things going on the wk of your stay. Which we thought was a nice touch. :-)

Owner's reply: Thank you We are jealous of our guests because when we go there, we end up doing bits around the house and garden instead of enjoying the location.
