The Limassol District
The second largest city in Cyprus which is steeped in history and lies between the two ancient towns of Curium to the west and Amathus to the east. Limessol is also renowned for its archaeological sites and mediaeval castles. Modern day Limessol has evolved into a busy commercial centre and large cosmopolitan resort. The extensive tourist area emcompasses restaurants, nightclubs, pubs and bars. Water-parks and great sandy beaches, shops including those specialising in jewellery and leather goods. Annual events include a wine festival in September and carival in March.
The quaint cypriot village of Pissouri is situated in the princple vine growing area of Cyprus, overlooking the coast. It is set on the main Pahpos to Limassol road and is approximately 1,000 feet above sea level. It is acknowledge by most travellers to be an attractive and charasmatic village in Cyprus. There is a village square, Greek Orthodox church, several shops, banks and postal service. Family run tavernas serving excellent food at competitive prices, and there is also a varied selection of bars and restaurants. The village has a very friendly atmosphere and most people speak english. During the summer months regular cypriot nights are held in the several tavernas in the village and in Pissouri Bay or visit the amphitheatre where plays, concerts and traditional dance are performed.
Pissouri Bay has become a favourite tourist destination in recent years since it provides a beautiful natural environment with an unspolit sandy beach which has been awarded the blue-flag a symbol of its official certication by European Union bodies as a clean and safe beach. A wide choice of tavernas on and around the beach offer an extensive range of food and drink. Many of them serve freshly caught fish which is a real treat not to be missed.
Spa and beauty treatments are also available at the five star Columbia Beach hotel, open to non-residents who are welcome to use the facillities of the Spa and Leisure Centre payable on a daily basis.
The two communities of Pissouri are unique in their blend of moutain and sea, famous for breathtaking views and also the very mild climate boasting sunshine 300 days of the year. It is an ideal, charming and peaceful resort, that remained unchanged for centuries where one can experience a friendly and relaxed atmosphere far from the trappings of civilization. Whether you are young or old, staying for a while or simply passing through, Pissouri is the ideal spot to totally wind down from the pressures of modern day living.

We really loved the villa. It was a quiet en tranquille place to stay. The views were marvelous, when standing in the kitchen you can overlook a beautiful kind of orchard and see te sea. We had a really perfect time there and hope to be back again. The pool looks great but only for hero's tp try it in february.... We were very lucky with the weather so we spend a lot of time at the nice beach of the small city Pissoury bay!

"Peaceful, secluded Villa with great pool"
This is the second time we have holidayed at Villa Katrina in Pissouri, Cyprus and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay as much as our first visit. The Villa is located in a perfect secluded private position near to Pissouri Village and has a beautiful scenic view of Pissouri Bay. Villa Katrina is modern, spacious and well maintained with a large lounge / dining / kitchen area. The outside pool area is where we spent most of our time. The pool is not overlooked and the garden is well established. It was great to relax in the peaceful quiet surroundings with only the occasional "bleet" from the odd goat, or sheep wandering in the adjacent natural open land. The owner, Tony, is most helpful and will do his utmost to make your stay enjoyable.

"Enjoyed the villa holiday so much - we have already booked again for next year"
Stayed at Villa Katrina for a week over the August bank holiday and as soon as we arrived we were immediately impressed with the accommodation. The villa is light airy and spacious and has all the modern conveniences expected including all important air con and Sky TV.(can't miss a United match) The villa is set in a small estate of 5 villas but has the advantage of being in a secluded position with the pool area not being overlooked. On a villa holiday the outside area is all important and the villa Katrina did not disappoint. The secluded pool area received the sun all day and had an ample shaded area housing the gas BBQ and dining table for 6.The roof terrace had stunning views of Pissouri Bay and in the evening with the cool mountain breeze was the perfect place to sit and have drink. The villa is only a 25 min journey from Paphos airport and I would strongly recommend a car (try Easycar.co.uk - think it is the cheapest) Would recommend going to a Avidmou Beach it is secluded and you can drive onto the beach - you can actually see the beach from the roof terrace and it looks a long way but it is only a 15-20 minute drive. Tony Lamont the owner was really helpful with the booking and gave us invaluable information regarding places to go in and around Pissouri. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday this is the place - my wife and 2 kids (age 23 & 28) spent the majority of the holiday sunbathing, swimming and using the BBQ (top spec) most days and drink from Papa antoniios supermarket it was surpisingly cheap.
