Location description from owner

The Limassol District

Limassol is a growing town with lots to do and see. Within the town there are local fish markets, traditional shops, a castle and a port allowing holiday makers to take weekend breaks to Rhodes, Egypt, Jordan and Israel.Cyprus is rich in history, you can visit Kolossi Castle built by the Knights of St John, or take a trip to "the Northside" and see the only divided city in Europe, enjoy a wine tour in the beautiful foothills of the Troodos Mountains, or see the 2000 year old Roman ruins at Currium (Currium also hosts outdoor concerts and theatre in the summer months in the old ampitheatre - not to be missed!.) Great for walking and exploring the rest of Cyprus either in the cooler mountains of Troodos or Paphos Forest. Cyprus enjoys a Mediterranean climate hot summers and mild winters. This is a warm and friendly country where the majority of the locals speak good English.

Pissouri

The villa is set in Pissouri bay, only 230 metres from the beach. Several very good restaurants including The Vineleaf, Cyprus night on Fridyas, Fish restaurant with great elevated views of the bay (Yialos) Pissouri Bay Bar, great food, cocktails and sports channels, IL Buchetto Italian, Venetto Pizzeria, Capatains down on the beach, as well as home cooking at the family run Artemis, line the road to the beach. Right on the beach, there is a great value kebab/snack restaurant limited opening. Additional wine bar the Grape and Grain usually shows live UK sports on TV screens around the bar. There are some small gift shops, and a nail, hair and beauty bar within a short walk. An ATM is located within a 5 to 10 minute walk of the villa. There are two small supermarkets within walking distance as well as a larger supermarket within 5 minutes drive, where there is a also a pharmacy. Pissouri village, a few minutes away by car, is set upon a hilltop some 500 feet above the bay. It is a charming and typical Cypriot village with several tavernas, restaurants and shops. A quaint village square lined with restaurants forms the venue for the local weekly Cyprus night, with Greek dancing and music to entertain diners. The 5000ft high mountain range of Troodos is a 45 minute drive and Aphrodites rock is less than 10k away The stunningly designed championship golf courses at Secret Valley and Aphrodite Hills are within a ten minute drive. “Our most amazing, relaxing, gorgeous holiday ever .”

Reviewed 15 Aug 2016

We could not be happier with the time we spent in shells villa. The only down side was leaving. It is perfect in every aspect. The thoughtfulness from Karen and Andy was truly overwhelming . They made it feel like home , there if we needed them but not at all intrusive . The welcome card, food, drinks were perfect and very much appreciated after the flight . Shells villa is more than you could ever wish for. We loved the peace and quiet while watching the birds in the evening diving across the pool . The pool was perfect for us and the children - nobody wanted to leave . The villa has everything you need and I mean everything. It's just perfect . We will definitely be returning .

Thank you all for your kind words. We are so glad that all of the family had a great time and especially enjoyed our large pool. We know that you really didn't want to leave and of course look forward to welcoming you again next year.

“The most relaxing holiday we have had in years.”

Reviewed 22 Jul 2016

We had a wonderful fortnights holiday, the villa is perfect, it had everything we needed, the pool is fantastic, a lovely size for a good morning workout and safe for children to swim and play in. We had some great meals out, both in the bay and village. The villa is in a great location to visit the most of the archaeological sites and the Trodos mountains. We enjoyed time on the beach which is a short walk from the bottom of the garden. Sitting in the garden in the evening with the pool lights on watching the swallows, listening to the peace and quiet truly finished each perfect day. Karen and Andy were the perfect hosts, the welcome pack we received was more than we had expected and very much appreciated. We would like to thank Karen and Andy for their attention to detail and friendship during our stay.

Thank you for taking the time to review Shells Villa and extra thanks to some of your group as returning customers. How lucky we are to have such great guests who look after our home for us. We hope that you will return again to enjoy Shells Villa in the future.

“Everything you need in an ideal location.”

Reviewed 7 Jul 2016

Shells Villa is situated in an ideal location in Pissouri Bay. It is a short walk down to the beach from the bottom of the garden, and a pleasant stroll into the village where there is a great choice of eating places to choose from. The villa itself is beautifully equipped with everything you could possibly need and is immaculately presented. The house is spacious and well furnished, but we spent most of our time in the pretty garden, reading by the well -sized pool. An excellent choice for a very relaxing holiday.

We are lucky to have a villa so close to the beach and that most of the year you can walk directly to the beach from the villa. We have tried to provide everything we would need when we use the villa in the winter months but are always open to any new requests. We are glad that you had a relaxing holiday at Shells Villa.

“Third visit to Shells Villa - Perfect.....”

Reviewed 4 Jul 2016

This is my third visit to Shells Villa - a perfect place for a week's R&R. The villa is great, the pool is superb! The location at the end of the cul-de-sac is quiet and peaceful. Even at the end of June Pissouri Bay manages to combine 'open-for-business' with 'laid-back-and-quiet' beautifully. Only 1 hour from the Artemis Trail around the summit of Mount Olympus- a fantastic scenic walk. Have visited Shells Villa twice previously with a family group but this time with just my partner for a restful wedding anniversary week. Each time has been divine. Rollers, Cyprus Wheatears, Black Francolins and Eleonora's Falcons all regular Bay visitors while we were there. Overriding memory of this visit will be our late evening swims in the pool with swallows, house martins and a nightjar 'dipping' for their evening drink. Just a totally special place.......

We are glad that you enjoyed your third stay in Shells Villa. We pride ourselves on the number of repeat customers we have year on year and that we and Cyprus caters for everyone's different passions. We hope that the complimentary fizz helped your anniversary celebrations along with all of the birds you ticked off your list as well as enjoying one of our favourite walks in Troodos. Looking forward to seeing you and your family again. Thank you.

“All round fantastic villa very private and relaxing.”

Would definitely book again.
