WiFi is provided free of charge, there is an Apple TV box permitting you to connect your iPad/iPod to the TV to watch UK TV channels like BBC iPlayer and ITVPlayer along with NetFlix* etc and a Android box providing further viewing options. The Living area gives direct access to a toilet and the first of the three En-suite bedrooms. Before going too far into the Villa you will want to explore the outside facilities and where better to start than with the large pool with roman steps that enable the least confident swimmer to have somewhere to splash around. The Pool is accessible either through the inner stairs off the living area or via the stairs to the side of the Villa. The water sparkles where it is so clean, the six full size loungers, large (3M) parasols and selection of floats and pool toys provide for all whether you wish to soak up the sun, chill in the shade with a book or be a little more energetic in the pool. You will notice the alfresco dining area with modern Gas BBQ. This area is well lit to enable you to enjoy a relaxing evening in the garden when the sun has gone down but you don't want the day to end; you are welcome to cut a fresh lemon from the lemon tree or compliment your meal with some fresh olives from the olive tree. At some point you will have to retire to Bed so let us go back into the Villa and explore the bedroom arrangements. As mentioned above all three bedrooms are en-suite, all are fully air-conditioned and have ceiling fans to help circulate the cool air along with mood setting bed side lamps to help you relax you into peaceful sleep. All bedrooms have built in wardrobes providing ample storage space along with full length mirrors. The first bedroom is accessible from the living area and has a king size bed. The en-suite consists of shower, basin and toilet. Moving up stairs you will discover two further bedrooms. The first is a twin and with en-suite shower, basin and toilet. You will then move to the master bedroom which will impress. It is spacious enough on it's own but the private terrace opens out through the large patio window to give an area where time can stand still. By day it is a south facing sun trap that will allow you to relax in total isolation from the world outside, by night it turns into a planetarium where the night sky will amaze as the stars and occasional comet come into view; this really is a sight to see. So is that it, well no, there is more: From the living area you will gain access to the basement area where, along with access to the pool, you will find a full size pool table with both adult and child size cues, a further television with PlayStation 3 and Nintendo WII with a good selection of games. There is yet another bathroom with toilet and shower, this is accessible directly from the pool and also acts as an en-suite should the Sofa bed be required. Hand, bath and swimming/beach towels are provided for all along with quilts and bedspreads; you are welcome to request other items if required to ensure your holiday starts the second you arrive. A Cot with bedding and High Chair are available on request. The Pool is cleaned twice a week, the Villa will be presented in pristine condition; I have been to Villas where the first day is spent cleaning them to my standard, you can be assured you won't need to clean this Villa on arrival.

Well, you now know about the Villa, you will be wondering what else there is to do in and around Pissouri. There are many attractions from Historical sites and monuments to wild water parks and water activities so let me give you an overview of some of the hi-lights. First I will start with places to eat. Pissouri village has a fair number of restaurants all within reasonable walking distance. There are numerous traditional offerings from the local tavernas along with the more cosmopolitan that one comes to expect. Slightly further afield Pissouri Bay has it's own choices, more traditional with sea front fish restaurants, Cyprus cuisine and, should you wish, the 5 star hotel. Full details of local restaurants will be provide to ensure you have the opportunity to explore from an informed position. Moving on to entertainment. The options are never ending. Cyprus has many historical monuments, many of which you will know from Greek mythology; Aphrodite features with her birth place less than ten minutes from the Villa. Then there is the ancient Amphitheatre which is a must if only to witness the amazing mosaic skills of the ancient Greeks. A trip in to Paphos and a visit to the Fort or an excursion in a Glass bottom Boat where you really can see the wonderful Sea Life in the clear warm sea below. A guide is provided in the Villa giving lots of ideas of places to eat and visit during your stay, an electronic copy will be provided before you travel. Note: *Netflix and alike may require a subscription.

Pissouri retains traditional Cypriot ethos whilst catering for the most discerning visitor. Located midway between the historic harbour town of Paphos and the bustling city of Limassol whilst the old coastal road will take you to the Roman Amphitheatre and mosaics at Kourion (where Shakespeare plays and concerts are performed in the Summer months) and the scenic Petra Tou Romiou (Aphrodite’s Birth Place). For the keen golfers a 15-minute drive gets you to the two championship golf courses of Secret Valley and Aphrodite Hills. The charming vine growing villages of the Troodos Mountains are but a 40-minute drive away. There you will find walks among the scented pine forests with expansive views and stunning landscapes, not to mention the serenity and beauty of the Monasteries and churches; experiences not to be missed. The Pissouri / Pissouri Bay area, traditionally part of the vine growing area of Limassol District, escapes the mass tourism of the more widely known Cyprus resorts and is perfect for “getting away from it all”. It is a quiet and friendly with a wonderful blue flag beach at Pissouri Bay. It offers a wide range of water sports and has plenty choice of traditional taverns, restaurants and styles of cuisine - all waiting for you to discover. Pissouri Bay is a favourite place for Cypriots to visit at weekends and sample the local delights of fish meze.

Pissouri Village boasts an attractive square with quaint narrow streets leading to it. During the summer season you will find “Cyprus nights” with traditional Cypriot food and entertainment including music and dancing are held in Pissouri Village, details are available in the Village square but be sure to book. Other amenities include church, mini markets, internet café, pizzeria, sports pub, car hire, bank with ATM, water sports and dive centre, health and beauty, travel agency etc as well as many restaurants and taverns where you can relax and watch the world go by.

The modern Amphitheatre has regular entertainment including military bands, folk dancing and plays throughout the season.

Location description from owner

The Limassol District

The historical offerings are amazing with preserved ruins from over three thousand years ago with new finds being unearthed to this day. Take the costal road to Paphos or Limassol and you are sure to be in awe of the outstanding natural beauty of the area. From sea views to wonder views across the island, on a clear day you can see the top of Mount Trodoos, something that itself is well worth a visit and prepare for the day as you will find an active Monastery that you will not be able to resist visiting, it is a truly magnificent experience.

Pissouri

The area offers everything from a relaxing peaceful break by the pool to a full on Water Sports themed holiday. With the Mediterranean weather and beautiful clear sea you can’t go wrong. The Villa is located in an area that has local facilities that include a Tennis Court (Rackets are provided at the Villa) and Large Swimming Pool (as well as the Villas private Swimming Pool). The Village offers numerous options for eating from 5 star dining to more traditional Cypriot offerings including Mezes and other local dishes. You could eat out every night and never visit the same restaurant twice, although the quality of the food at the local restaurants will make that difficult to do.

Getting around

The roads in Cyprus are generally a lot quieter than the UK, the motorway runs from Paphos to Larnaca but the older roads offer so much more if you want to explore. There are numerous tavernas to be found as you drive through the typical Cypriot villages, and you are always assured a warm welcome. Pissouri Village is within walking distance although you may prefer to get a taxi back, normally around €5-7.

“Villa Petra”

Reviewed 19 Oct 2016

A beautiful villa with a great deal to recommend it, particularly the pool area! We had a great holiday there and intend to return. Ken was extremely helpful and responsive, making the whole booking process very easy.

“Relaxation”

Reviewed 15 Oct 2014

This was our second visit at Villa Petra and we enjoyed staying here as much as the first time we visited in August 2013. The villa and pool were spotless again thanks to Mal and her husband (sorry, can never remember his name!) who manage the Villa for Ken. The welcome pack was much appreciated and saved having to dash to the supermarket as soon as we arrived. The villa is equipped with everything you need to make your holiday stress free - washing machine, dishwasher etc, there is even a cool box to use on days out. A car is recommended as the villa isn't in walking distance of the shops or beach, but to appreciate the many sights that Cyprus has to offer hiring a car is an advantage. We collect and return our hire car from the airport as the Cypriots drive on left same as in England and the roads are very quiet and easy to drive on. Thank you again Ken for a wonderful relaxing holiday.

“Well appointed comfortable villa, suitable for 6 easily”

Reviewed 30 Sep 2014

The villa was a bit further from the village than we thought and after playing golf during the day in the hot sun, it really felt like a long walk, so we ended up using the car all the time. However, the villa was clean and comfortable. The basic provisions were available on arrival, which was a blessing as we arrived quite late and make sure you have a torch so you can use the key code!!

“Fantastic Villa”

Reviewed 15 Sep 2014

We had 2 wonderful weeks at Villa Petra. Contact with Ken over the booking was very efficient and he even rewrote the directions to take into account we were coming from another part of the island, not from the airport. Everything was clean and well maintained. The pool is great and was the perfect temperature. A real treat after a hot day of sight seeing. The villa is very spacious, spread over 3 floors. The location is excellent, being just off the motorway serving the south coast, so its easy to get to Paphos, Limassol, Larnica and Nicossia, or up into the Troodos Mountains. The villa is on the Pine Hills development, which has a combination of residential and rental properties. There is also a clubhouse with communal pool and bar, particularly good if you have children who'd like to make some holiday friends. The area is really quiet, perfect for a restful break but would disappoint if you are after nightlife. The village of Pissouri has several excellent tavernas and Pissouri Bay is only a short drive away, and is also well supplied with some shops and restaurants. You definitely need a car for this property. If you are after a quiet, restful holiday in a well equipped , modern villa, then Villa Petra is perfect. We won't hesitate to book again, next time we head to Cyprus.

“A great place to lie back and relax”

“perfect villa and perfect location”

Reviewed 28 Jul 2014

we have visited pissouri many times and this villa is the best we have stayed in. pine bay and the location of this villa is perfect, overlooking the top of the forest and sea in the distance. I particularly liked the space in the property especially the top floor sun terrace which is a great sun trap! it was like home from home with all " mod cons". ceiling fans aswell as air conditioning was great.I have two teenage daughters and as you can imagine needed plenty of wardrobe space which this villa has plenty of! How lovely having a welcome pack which we were greatful of as we arrived very late evening. we would definitely stay again and found the whole booking experience and information excellent. thanks for a great holiday!

“outstanding villa”

Reviewed 17 Jun 2013

we stayed at the villa end of may beginning of june the villa was spotless and we really enjoyed our stay The photos don't do justice to the property. The villa's facilities were superb and we all spent time splashing and swimming in the well sized swimming pool.we used all facilities at the villa and had nice days using the bbq, playing pool and relaxing. you can walk into pissouri square in about 10 - 15 mins where there is good choice of restaurants, we tried 3 and all we good value and quality food. we enjoyed it that much trying to rebook for october. All in all a most enjoyable and relaxing holiday. ken the owner was very helpful before and during the holiday and we would recommend the villa to all

“Spacious luxury villa”

Reviewed 31 May 2013

Great holiday villa. It has everything. For the 3 of us it was huge. Set in Pissouri, it is high up and has a fabulous pool. We arrived late and there was coffee, tea, bread, eggs and other items waiting when we entered. Would highly recommend to anyone. Would love to go back someday. The photos are exactly as the real thing.

“Fabulous Holiday Home!”

Reviewed 7 Jan 2013

We stayed in Villa Petra for 10 days in September 2012. We wanted a relaxing break in the sun with all the home comforts and freedom to come and go as you please which you don't normally find in hotels. The kitchen is superbly equipped with high quality dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, iron/board etc. There was a lovely bottle of wine welcoming us after our initial journey from UK which was a lovely touch. The owners have really thought carefully how to make visitors welcome and enjoy a fabulous holiday. I have to say, that Villa Petra far exceeded our expectations. The villa itself is spacious, spotless and very well maintained with excellent facilities available if you have children holidaying with you, or even just for a couple like us! Such as a full sized pool table in the games room located just off the pool area, plenty of dvd's, satellite tv, cards and board games if there is the very rare occasion of non-sunny days! The pool for sunny days is so welcoming and is well maintained also. The local area offers plenty of variety for shopping, culture and fabulous restaurants within walking distance of the villa in Pissouri village, which offers a really warm welcome to visitors. It is also lovely to sit out on one of the 2 balconies overlooking the pool with the sea in the distance in an evening, chilling with a nice refreshing drink. We would thoroughly recommend this villa to future holiday makers!!
