“Les Cotes”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2017

Thank you Len for another wonderful holiday in your lovely home. We stayed last year as well and returned again as we were so happy with everything. Les Cotes is spacious, clean and comfortable. There really is everything there you could possible need for your holiday. The setting is beautiful with fantastic views that you will never tire from. We all loved the pool and as a previous reviewer said the gazebo makes it even nicer. Nothing to fault on Les Cotes as its just a perfect place to be in the summer. Many thanks again Len for a lovely holiday.

Owner's reply: Sorry for late reply. Thank you for your review and custom and look forward to you staying again.

“Perfect house,setting and holiday”

Reviewed 18 Sep 2016

We stayed at Les Cotes for two weeks in August with our three daughters ages 7,4 and 2. We have been to this area before and can honestly say that this was the best accommodation that we have stayed at. The house has everything you could possible need for a great holiday with young children. The bedrooms very comfortable, kitchen very well equipped and clean. The pool area is completely secured and we had most of our days and evenings spent there. It is a beautiful area and the views from the house are just amazing. As said before the pictures definitely do not do the property justice. Len is very helpful and any queries that we had about cots etc were answered straight away. We loved it so much we hope to return next year. Thank you Len and co for a great holiday in your lovely home.

Owner's reply: Thank you. Look forward to your return

“Everything we wanted and more”

Reviewed 30 Aug 2015

Arrived at the property to find it set up ready for our two week stay which included a welcome pack. As we explored the gite we decided that the photo's don't do it justice. We had everything we wanted, nice sized rooms, well equipped kitchen, english TV and the all important internet ( teenagers !!! ) The pool was a great on the hotter days and like the gite has some beautiful views. There are many villages and towns close by to visit and stock up with provisions. This is a lovely place to have a quiet and relaxing holiday.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your feedback, hope you come back again

“Well equipped holiday home”

Great pool facility. Lovely peaceful location. Aubeterre sur Dronne is a beautiful French village worth a visit or two! Enjoyed a good meal in La Brasserie. Excellent sobets near the main car park.

Owner's reply: Hi Liz, Thank you for your feedback and look forward to you booking again. Regards Len

“Wish we were back there!!!”

Reviewed 4 Sep 2013

This is one of the easiest reviews I have had the pleasure to write! As a family (4 adults, 2 kids) we have stayed in many gites/barns/houses throughout southern and western France, and les cotes was far and away the best located for peace and quiet (which we go for) and facilities. The rooms were clean, tidy and a good size. The kitchen was so well stocked we didn't need anything. The games room was a nice touch, although the weather was so good we didn't use it at all. And as for the pool area it was perfect!! Enough seating, a bit of shade for everyone and a clean, refreshing pool. A trip in to aubeterre is a must, the market on Sundays is great. Some great bars and reataurants with live music most summer nights. As for les cotes, yes we were lucky with the weather, but even we couldn't have expected such peace, tranquility and a restful time. Len was the perfect host, replying quickly and answered all questions. We will definitely be back here!!

Owner's reply: Thank you for your kind comments and review of property. Look forward to you staying again.

“Idyllic, peaceful, relaxing, spacious, beautiful”

Reviewed 15 Aug 2013

I think the title says it all. The property is on a quiet lane which is hardly used and there is only one other property within a half mile radius. In the evenings the location is dead quiet (apart from the odd cricket) with no light pollution so the stars are incredible. We made full use of the swimming pool and BBQ. There are several shops (small independent shops and large supermarkets) ten to twenty minutes drive away so you're not too isolated. The house is on two floors: the first floor has the living quarters (kitchen, living room, bedrooms, bathroom and toilet). The ground floor has a playroom, laundry room and another toilet. The photos don't do justice to the house.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your comments and taking the time to carry out the review. we look forward to you staying at Les Cotes again in the future.

“Fantastic peaceful vacation with a super swimming pool”

Reviewed 5 Sep 2012

Enjoyed a great stay at Les Cotes. Very comfortable property that contained all we needed for our family vacation. Swimming pool was a very welcome addition given the hot weather and on most evenings we enjoyed the heat of the sun until 7.30PM. Closest village for morning croissants was a few miles drive away and drive a little further to see the very pretty town of Aubeterre. My only comment on this area of France is we tended to have to drive quite a distance to find other attractions. Visited Cognac and Remy Martin which was great and canoeing in Aubeterre is well worth doing.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your kind comments and look forward to seeing you at Les Cotes again

“Absolutley lovely peaceful retreat”

Reviewed 28 Jul 2012

There were 5 in our group including my 2 children aged 6 and 9. The children made use of the spacious pool almost daily. On the days the weather was not so hot there was plenty to keep the children entertained inside. We had a few BBQs in the evenings which were lovely sat in the sunshine in the peace and quiet. You really can't believe how quiet it is in this pretty village. We travelled into Aubetterre in the evenings and founds a couple of lovely restaurants where the staff were very friendly and spoke English. The house was equipped with everything you would ever need and more. Very modern and clean property.

Owner's reply: Hi Mrs Keel, I am glad you and your family had a satisfactory and relaxing stay at Les Cotes. Thank you for your feed back, and kook forward to you staying again Regards Len

“My Late weekend break”

Reviewed 8 Jan 2012

This was my first visit to the Pilac area of France and would honestly say this is a beautiful part of the country. The accomodation I stayed in with friends for a long weekend was a comfortable one and a half hours drive from Bordeaux Airport through some stunning countryside. On our arrival we were suprised on the size of the acommodation which would comfortably home Eight people with plenty of room. With stunning views of the french countryside from every window . The acomodation comes complete with all the creature comforts you get when you are at home plus the added bonus of a private swimming pool. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay so much that we are returning in 2012 in Mayl for a long weekend and again in the summer for a two week stay.

Owner's reply: Hi I am glad you enjoyed your short break so much that you booked a further two breaks with us. I look forward to seeing you again soon.

“Idyllic isolated location yet within 10 minutes of pretty Aubterre sur Dronne”

Reviewed 3 Jan 2012

Les Cotes stands alone and is surrounded by walnut tree orchards and sweetcorn fields which gives the location a feeling of quintessentially rural French life. It will suit you if, like us, you prefer to see as few people as possible on holiday. The house is spacious and very well equipped. It has a fabulous swimming pool within a fenced enclosure, although parents should be aware that there is no survellience of the pool from the house itself. The house is only a 10 minutes drive from Aubterre-sur-Dronne a lovely village, voted prettiest in France on a number of occasions. This has a central square where there is a market and numerous good places to eat, although there did seem to be a lot of English people owning local businesses. The local river offers great (easy) canoeing and a man-made beach. The underground Church is definately worth a visit. We had a lovely relaxing holiday with children aged 11, 8 and 6 and would thoroughly recommend Les Cotes which offers good value for money.

Owner's reply: Hi, I would like to thank you for your feedback and we are glad that you enjoyed your time at Les Cotes. We look forward to you staying again
