Getting around

The easiest way to see this beautiful part of North Yorkshire is by car. However, there is of course, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (usually a steam train) which runs all the way to Whitby with many lovely spots to visit on the way! There are also buses running between Helmsley (via Pickering) to Scarborough and from Leeds to Scarborough via York, Malton and Pickering. Northern Rail trains run from nearby Malton (9 miles away) directly to York, Liverpool and Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester airport.

Interaction with guest

We (the owners) live next door to the cottage aim to welcome all guests personally by showing them in to the cottage and handing over the keys. We are very happy to give advice on what to see, where to eat or find good dog walks etc! We are also on hand to help with any questions you may have about the cottage.

“A little gem”

Reviewed 31 Mar 2019

This is a very comfortable, spotless and spacious cottage the beds were extremely comfortable, the shower stayed the same temperature, even I found using the washer/dryer was a doddle! The location was perfect only a few mins stroll away from the town centre, lots of eating places and little shops, everyone was so friendly as we have always found when visiting Yorkshire. We have arrived home feeling blessed with our wonderful much needed break, helped along by the courtesey and welcomeness we found in Lucy and Paul, they were the perfect hosts, so nice to have them chatting to us on a few occasions. We look forward to returning again at some stage in the future, thank you both.
