“What a find”

Reviewed 17 Mar 2013

There should have been 9 adults staying but ended up with only 7 - a shame but it meant 4 of us could have the most comfortable, large, luxurious beds to ourselves to spread out in. The welcoming bottles of wine waiting for us were the icing on the cake for this excellent accommodation. The location couldn't have been better for the weekend - next to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and opposite the local shops of Pickering. The owners went out of their way to answer any queries prior to the visit and there was nothing ore we could have asked for.

Thank you so much for your kind review Jane. We really do try and make our guests feel as comfortable as they would in their own home. That was our mission from day one.....selfishly because we wanted it to be that way when we went :) Lets hope your full party can all visit in the future, I bet you had a great time and many giggles! Thanks again it means a lot to us when people take the time to review us. Hurry back again soon :)

“Picture perfect!”

Reviewed 11 Mar 2013

This is our second time here and hopefully not our last. A beautiful, spacious house in a great location. It provides an ideal base for exploring all that North Yorkshire has to offer.. plus the owners could not be more helpful!! The only downside was having to go home!!

Aw thank you so so much for this lovely review. It is really appreciated. You are welcome back anytime :) It does help people make a more informed decision when they look at our reviews :) PS. The card is on its way back, Jill has posted it xxx

“WOW! Fantastic well equipped property. Perfect for our needs”

Reviewed 20 Nov 2012

I stayed here over a friday and saturday night with 9 other members of my family (ranging in age from 8 months to 71 years old) and two dogs. The property was stunning and exceeded all our expectations. It was beautifully decorated, immaculately clean and in a great location. The beds were really comfortable and the bedding was luxurious. The owner was very helpful when we were making the booking and appears to have thought of everything, even providing board games and toys to keep the kids entertained. What I really liked were the little touches such as providing fresh fruit on arrival and making sure the house was well heated. In fact my only complaint is that the house was too warm as we had to turn down the thermostats in the bedrooms! I would love to come back again.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review the house - it does help other future guests make a decision. I have to say that my pet hate is being cold s- so whilst the house is big we try and have it cosy and warm for guests. I am so pleased that you were happy with everything - having children ourselves we know the importance of keeping them entertained!! Further improvements planned for 2013. Come back soon :) THANKS!

“Great house... great location”

Reviewed 27 Oct 2011

The house has everything that you need except maybe a ground floor toilet. It has a fully fitted kitchen, a dining room with a log fire plus a large lounge all on the ground floor with TV's in the dining room and the lounge. On the first floor there are 3 generous sized bedrooms and a big family bathroom. The top floor is basically an attic conversion with a further 2 generous bedrooms plus a toilet and separate shower room. The furniture plus the fixtures and fittings are top class. Hot water and central heating mean that even in poor weather the house is 'warm as toast'. All in all it is a big house ideal for a family or a group of friends. The location is superb. It is literally smack in the middle of the beautiful old market town of Pickering, and Pickering station, the Pickering end of the Heritage steam railway, is almost next door. Regular steam trains run to Goathland (the station used for 'Heartbeat' filming), Grosmont and Whitby on the coast. Furthermore, the North Yorkshire Moors, York and Scarborough are all within easy reach. My friends and I have stayed there twice now, and recommend it to anybody looking for a large house in the Pickering area.

Thank you for your fab review. You were a pleasure to have staying in the house and I do hope that you will consider returning again in the future. You are so right, the house is fantastic for large groups and as it is in the centre of Pickering you could park your car and leave it there for a week! Thanks again. Alison, Garry and Lillie-Beth

“Great house in the perfect location”

Reviewed 11 Oct 2011

As a stag weekend location it was perfect. Literally 30 seconds walk to around 10 different pubs, take aways and restaurants. House itself is immaculate and very homely and easily slept 12. Owners couldn't have been more helpful in organising our stay so this place is highly recommended.

You were a pleasure to have thank you! Hope to have you back in the future. Take care and happy wedding :)
