Nestled in the rural splendour of the Limousin country side. Artin Sec is situated on the top of a stunning valley and overlooked in the far distance by the Spire of Saint Martin Chateau. The views are Spectacular, and the setting offers both privacy and tranquillity. The property is thought to date back to the early 1800’s and has been extensively renovated over the past 10 years to provide a luxurious but authentic holiday experience for our guests. We have retained many of the original features but added all the modern amenities that you would expect from 21st century living and made every effort to provide the detail and creature comforts our guests would expect from a premium holiday rental.

OUTSIDE and for the sun lovers amongst us we have over 250 M2 of decked area extending the width of the South facing gardens which captures the sun for the best part of the day. The sizeable above ground pool is conveniently located next to the rear of the property and decks so you’re only a hop skip and a jump away from a refreshing dip.

If your preference is relaxing in the shade and away from the midday sun, we have a range of covered spaces to while away the day including our most recent addition, a fabulous thatched gazebo which is connected to the property via a decked boardwalk. Needless to say that sun downers on the gazebo are a common theme to our stays in this magnificent pied de terre. Sun loungers, Hammocks, Giant bean bags, deck chairs and a wealth of outdoor furniture is available for your comfort as well as a wood fired pizza oven and three charcoal BBQ's.

INSIDE you will find six beautifully appointed double bedrooms featuring traditional furniture and some modern additions for convenience. The main suite includes its own private bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath a wall mounted TV and king-size bed. Bathrooms and wet-rooms are all located a few steps away from either the main living spaces or the adjacent bedrooms. The property also has a large farmhouse kitchen which is appointed to a high standard and includes all the necessary utensils for the budding chefs among us. Secondary is the summer kitchen which also has a range of fitted cupboards, oven, fridge and small seating area. Living and dining areas are accommodated in three separate rooms, the largest measuring over 850 Sq Feet with two sofa's, 50inch flat screen TV, surround sound and a range of period floor standing furniture.

Whilst every effort has been made to provide an array of entertainment for the maturer members of the party, we have also focussed on the smaller members of the crew providing lots of outdoor and indoor fun. Having children ourselves we realise that occupying our children means a happy time all round so you will find plenty of ball games, toys, puzzles, books, an infants bouncy castle, swings, a paddling pool and a Nintendo Wii with a selection of favourites for all age groups.

AWAY The magnificent life guarded beach resorts of Lake Vassiviere are a mere 10 minute drive from this property and offer an abundance of outdoor activities with truly spectacular views to boot. The lake is a ‘must see’ and caters for all age groups and abilities, kayaking, boat rental, volley ball, incredible walks and cycle rides are all to be had as well as tree top adventures and remarkable hand crafted children’s adventure playgrounds. Food is also available from your regular french fries, pizza, salads and crepes through to a’la carte dining. For animal lovers a superb Donkey sanctuary is located a brisk walk away and offers Donkey trek adventures for an hour or up-to 1 day. A great hit with our kids!

The pretty lakeside village of Peyrat le Chateau is a 4 minute drive away for your morning croissants and provides a selection of restaurants and bars as well as a couple of small supermarkets, a pharmacy, butcher and the all-important bakery for fresh artisan bread and pastries.

We consider ourselves truly blessed to be able to share our holiday home with others. It has been a project 10 years in the making but what we have created we consider to be the perfect rural bolt hole for families and couples alike. Its a warm and friendly retreat surrounded by strikingly beautiful scenery. The place truly comes alive when our family and friends visit us and has in the past been the place of many great memories.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Martin (the owner) a message.

If Martin (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
