Description from owner

This tastefully furnished ground floor apartment gives you the ideal home from home feel. Tamarisk at Nemesis provides the perfect location to sit on your own large private terrace, with a holiday cocktail enjoying the sunset, whilst planning your next days' activities.

These could include relaxing by the heated (solar powered) pool, using the gym, or even taking a gentle stroll into the village centre, with its many traditional tavernas and bars.

Alternatively, you may wish to visit the nearby blue flag beach of Coral Bay and try your hands at the watersports. Not forgetting the golfers, as Tsada Championship golf course is only 9km away.

The Paphos District

Paphos is home to the second international airport in Cyprus. With its' year round sunshine and a city steeped in history, Paphos is an excellent holiday destination for young and old alike.

Paphos was once the Roman capital of Cyprus and is now listed as a World Heritage site by UNESCO – with its redeveloped harbour, Tomb of the Kings, ancient mosaics situated in the Paphos Archaeological Park, Byzantine churches, Crusader Castles and Christian Catacombs, to name but a few places to visit. It is believed that Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love and Beauty rose from the waves and crashed on the shores. Remnants of this legend can be visited today in a number of features including The Venus Rock and the Baths of Aphrodite.

Overlooking the harbour is the 13th Century Castle. It was rebuilt by the Lusignans and then dismantled by the Venetians in 1570, who were unable to defend it against the Ottomans, who then restored and strengthened it after capturing the island. Since 1935 it has been declared an ancient monument and is now considered as one of the hallmarks of the Paphos region.

To the side of the Castle is the Odeon Theatre which was erected in the 2nd Century and, in spite of its' tiny size, is one of the most famous in the world. It is still in use today and hosts a variety of outdoor music concerts and performing arts productions.

More up-to-date, the harbour of Paphos has just been redeveloped with a pedestrian friendly promenade fronted by shops, bars and restaurants, where you can sit with a Cypriot coffee or cold beer in the year round sunshine and just watch the world go by.

Making full use of the Mediterranean climate, Paphos also boasts the centrally located and sandy municipal beach. There is also Faros Beach, which tends to be a quieter option. The blue flag beach of Coral Bay is just 3km away, easily reached by the user friendly public transport.

If you are feeling more energetic, there is the Paphos Aphrodite Water Park. It holds the biggest family rafting ride in Europe and attracts over 100,000 visitors each year. Whether it's pulse-pounding excitement, slippery challenges, relaxing activities and sunbathing, or a combination of all three, there's something for everyone here – a cool fun way to spend a hot day.

For an example of days out and touring the island of Cyprus, there is:

Limassol – for many years a major holiday resort and known for its' festivals and archaeological sites.

Troodos mountains, dotted with traditional villages, is a major attraction in the summer months and, with snowfall during January to March, also offers skiing and snowboarding.

The list is endless, so why not visit Cyprus yourself and discover her many treasures. Excellent public transport, abundant inexpensive taxis and easy driving (they drive on the left), make touring this island a pleasure.

Peyia has traditional tavernas and restaurants, some of which offer a take-away service, There's a local Greek Orthodox Church, supermarkets, banks, bakers, butchers, chemist, doctor and dentist. A brand new Medical Centre has also just opened in Peyia – a truly self-contained village. The near-by attractions include the Sea Caves, Paphos Bird Park, Reptile Farm, Go-karting and Horse-riding.

3km away is the blue flag beach of Coral Bay, stretching for 2km with some of the best scenery in Cyprus. The beach has parking facilities and easy access for the disabled. Public transport stops right by the beach. You can indulge in snorkelling and water sports, laze on a sun bed or have a meal in the beach restaurant. There are also shower and toilet facilities. Coral Bay itself is fairly lively with many shops, restaurants and cocktail bars.

Akamas Peninsula and villages is 6km from Peyia. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty, deep gorges and wild landscape, with beautiful walks and nature trails.

Tsada Championship golf course is situated approximately 9km from Peyia. Opened in 1994, Tsada is situated in a fertile gently sloping valley some 550m above sea level. A par-72 layout measuring 6,060m and consisting of two loops of nine holes.

Lara Bay is an important turtle breeding site, home to endangered species of turtle. The small town of Polis, a scenic drive across the Akamas Peninsula leads to Latchi – a picturesque harbour, known throughout Cyprus for its' fresh fish. From Polis, you can also take a short cruise around Akamas.

Very Good

We had an amazing, happy, peaceful and completely chilling holiday, will be going back next year. We only found the water when having a shower rather slow but didn't make any difference to us. We had an amazing time and we all thought no wonder they call it the land of love, because we fell in love with the place.

“Fabulous apartment, great pool, very relaxing holiday”

Reviewed 22 Sep 2014

The apartment is very modern and well equipped set in a quiet residential village setting but close enough to visit the 'busier tourist' places such as coral bay and Paphos habour. Very lovely outside space with fabulous pool which we had to ourselves most days which was great. It is a good location to visit the sights and plenty to do and see, we visited Limassol, Latchi, Pissouri, the Akamas Pennisula as well as Limassol waterpark which was great. Horse riding and go- karting are also nearby. The village of Peyia is quiet but has the necessary supermarket, bakery and a few bars and taverns all within walking distance of the apartment. Absolutely cannot fault the apartment and we had a great family holiday.

“Chilled out place to stay”

Reviewed 17 Jul 2013

Booked this apartment for one week commencing 2nd July. Excellent people to rent from, Tracey accomodated our late check out on the eith day as we were flying home on a late flight. Apartment was very clean and spacious and more than catered for our needs. The kitchen was well equipped and was a real home from home. The patio area was made full use of as was the pool & gym, which was almost exclusively ours. The neighbours whou were owners themselves were very friendly and informative. The apartment is in a quiet are of Pegia and you would definitely need a car to get out and about. Coral bay was ten minutes drive away as was the nearest supermarket. If you want to venture oi]ut without the car for an evening I can recommend Coral Taxis who carged 15 euros for return trip to coral bay even though the return was well into the small hours after a heavy session at Kleos. All in all, a great holiday with thanks to Paul & Tracey

Thank you for sharing your wonderful apartment - a real home from home! having been all over Cyprus for the last 10 years this is one of the best apartments we have stayed in. The owners were very friendly and helpful we got the Wi Fi turned on in coral bay just a 5 min drive very easy as we have two teenagers. The complex and pool are lovely and clean we had everything we needed the information pack that is provided was extremely useful. We have no hesitation in recommending to friends & family & hope to return ourselves soon! Nigel & Nicky June 2013

“Excellent facilities - all that you would want for a perfect holiday!”

Reviewed 28 Sep 2012

Apartment is very spacious & comfortable & has everything you would want for a perfect holiday including lovely views over the sea in the distance. It has 2 very large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (one en-suite), very spacious living, dining area & kitchen in an open plan style. There is a lovely patio with table & chairs, overlooking the pool & sea. The complex has a huge pool surrounded by beautiful flowers & shrubs. Peyia village is less than 5 minutes car ride away & has an abundance of bars & restaurants & Coral Bay & beautiful beaches are no more than10 minutes away. It takes about 20 minutes to get into Paphos & if you don't have a car buses are very cheap & regular. All in all a brilliant location for a fantastic holiday & I would definitely recommend it!

Lovely, spacious apartment overlooking a fantastic pool. The apartment was wonderfully clean and had everything we could possibly need. The complex is lovely and the residents very friendly creating a relaxed, pleasant atmosphere. Just a short walk away from the restaurants and shops in Peyia. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and are definately going back. Tracey & Paul did everything they could to ensure we had a great holiday.

“A thoroughly enjoyable holiday, lovely weather, beautiful apartment, caters fully for six adults, cant wait to go again”

We loved the layout of the apartment very spacious, comfortable, modern and clean. Fantastic pool layout, very welcoming, helpful neighbours,. Local restaurants in walking distance along with shops, banks etc. Coral Bay also in walking distance or 5 minute drive, great for bit of nightlife plus many restaurants, spoilt for choice. Water park only 30 minute drive away, our family thoroughly enjoyed this. We also enjoyed the vist to the harbour only 30 minutes away. There seem to be plenty more places of interest to visit which we intend to do on our next stay. This was our first time visit to Cyprus, we found the locals very friendly, weather fabulous, we will definately be returning next year
