“Great location, amenities and pool”
Lovely pool: not too much chlorine so fab! The view is overlooked by the luxury villas opposite but these are empty so no problem. Location was great as short walk to bars, bakery, fruit market. Local supermarket Phillipos delivers you and your shopping but is about half hr walk... we did this several times during a 3 week stay and was fine. Lovely breeze from the ravine and in the afternoon from around 2pm onwards the pool slowly comes into shade which although we come for the sun is lovely and made it easier for the children. Kitchen facilities were great and everything worked!! We actually do cook each day as don't have a never ending budget and I was really pleased that everything from the pans to the knives actually worked and were a decent quality. The amount of villas that don't have adequate facilities is vast so I was impressed. Fly screens were really useful although installing some rubber/sponge behind them so they don't bang in the breeze would be a good idea ( we wedged our flip flops behind them). The villa next for is empty and overgrown and no one came to the other side so it was really nice as these houses are really close to each other. Colour changing lights in the pool are great fun! Lovely holiday!
Owner's reply: Glad you enjoyed your 3 weeks stay. Have never noticed the fly screens making any noise but will check them out, of course. Malcolm
“Great villa. Had a lot of problems to deal with, but overall really good”
This is a great 2 bedroom villa, with a pool area and small portable BBQ. We had an all-in-all good week, but there were a few things that went wrong while we were there, so spent a lot of time managing repairs. I have emailed Malcolm, the owner, with all of my concerns and he has said he will have a look at most of them to try and make improvements. While we were there, the problems that occurred and were fixed were: - Toilet in the twin room was constantly filling itself, which made a lot of noise - There was no water pressure in any of the taps for the first day but heard this is a regular occurrence and was fixed quickly - The air-con in the lounge was pushing out warm air, but this has now been re-gassed - The lights around the pool, outside table and in the lounge stopped working after day one. We heard electrics are often done differently in Cyprus, so advised to play around with various switches, but we were unable to get any of them working for the whole week. - The pool was losing a lot of water daily so we had to keep filling it up With regards to any faults, there are contact details of a guy called Steve who was genuinely brilliant all week, especially as it was difficult getting in touch with the villa owner, so Steve will take a lot of ownership and help you with anything you need. Also be careful of the front door as it locks automatically. It locked on us while the key was on the inside of the door, so needed to get a locksmith out. Beside the above main gripes, the following were also little things, that if resolved would have made for a much more pleasant stay: - The blinds in the bedrooms are not black-out, so we were woken up at 6-6.30am daily due to the rooms being so bright. I would really bringing an eye mask to block out light in the morning - The bin in the kitchen is extremely small, more of a toilet bin, definitely not fit for a kitchen - There was only one tea towel for most of our stay, but the owner is getting more in As I said, all in all a great villa, was just frustrating that we had to spend so much time project managing repairs.
Owner's reply: Glad you had a good time despite the gremlins. Cypriot plumbing and electrics is not as reliable as UK standards, hence the immediate service contact is in place if anything goes wrong, which I am glad you utilised successfully. The pool maintenance company has now been changed as they were telling me it was evaporation but it was found that the pump had been left partly on a 'backwash' setting which was slowly pumping water out of the pool. This should not have occurred and I apologise. I have now employed a local Peyia villa maintenance company, so there is one number to call for any problems, which will be dealt with immediately. The door key should always be left in the safe box outside please, never in the door. The sun is normally the reason most people visit Cyprus and black-out blinds have never been requested before. Kitchen bin should be emptied daily to avoid attracting insects, which is why it is purposely smaller than we are used to in UK. (The refuse bin is directly across the road about 10 paces away). There was a supply of 6 new tea towels in one of the kitchen drawers which were not used...I placed them there myself as we were out there before you...sorry you didn't find them. Glad you survived and enjoyed your week regardless.
“Very very nice villa some difficulties with the location not in the owners control.”
Great villa, clean ,comfortable and well equipped. Sadly some of the surrounding villa's not as well looked after or finished. We only found two good paces to eat with in walking distance of the Villa. Coral Bay very close if you want to use a taxi to return at night after dark we didn't want to walk due to lack of pavements & street lights. Great place to relax a TV would have been a nice addition in consideration of how quiet the Village is. We were pleased to have a car and would recommend all guests also consider having a car.
Owner's reply: Glad you enjoyed it! TV is not a requirement for most of our guests as it is the peace and quiet they are seeking. Also, it would involve a large and unsightly satellite dish unless only local programmes (in greek)are used- this would then need to be reflected in the price.
“Relax Relax Relax!!!”
We have just returned from a very relaxing week in Riverside Villa. The villa was modern, very well equiped and presented immaculately. Although set in a quiet cul de sac the village was a very short walk away from supermarket, bakery, bank and numerous tavernas etc. The weather was fantastic and the pool well used. An excellent holiday for families and couples alike. The owner Malcolm was very pleasant and helpful when we booked our stay. We will book again without hesitation.
Owner's reply: Thats very nice of you, thanks for the review and I am so glad you all enjoyed the stay. I will look forward to your return.
“A Relaxing and Peacful holiday”
My husband and I stayed at the villa for 2 weeks. The villa is set in a quiet area, decorated to a good standard and well maintained. It is in ideal location for either a touring or relaxing holiday. There is a number of good bars and resturant in nearbye Coral Bay and Peyia if you prefer to eat out, which my husband and i did most evenings. The small pool is ideal way to cool down in the hot Cyprus sun. We had a lovely time doing our own thing at our pace I would definatly book this Villa again.
Owner's reply: I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you again in future.
