Villa Elya (60 sq.m) is one of 3 fabulous villas that comprise Kolpos Thea Villas, a peaceful, rural small holiday retreat set in an acre of beautiful terraced gardens and surrounded by fig and olive trees and with breathtaking views of the sea and mountains beyond. At the centre of the gardens is the wonderful large pool area with sun terrace, bar and barbecue area.
Villa Elya is the largest villa (sleeps up to 4) and has a vast veranda around 2 sides enjoying the views and equipped with dining furniture and soft furniture. The living room has a corner fireplace in the sitting area and a very well equipped kitchen/dining area. French windows lead onto the private veranda. There is a sofa-bed which converts to two singles or one large double in the sitting room area. Three steps up take you to a small hall leading to the bathroom with shower over and the bedroom which has a very large wardrobe and a mountain view. There are two single beds that can make one large double.
There is also a TV and DVD player The whole living area has views of the sea, mountains and olive groves.
Unusually for self-catered villas there is a pool bar, very popular with the guests, serving low-priced drinks and excellent food, (the cook's meze is a must!). There is also a petanque area. The area around the villas is a very traditional rural Greek lifestyle, with low-key tourism and a wealth of ancient sites (including Olympia), many wonderful and varied beaches, charming little Greek fishing villages with waterside tavernas and a wonderful lush green countryside of mountains, woods and waterfalls-rare in many parts of Greece.
An unusual facility at Kolpos Thea Villas is the chance to go sailing on the owner's 43ft Yacht. They offer day trips and small cruises of up to three days. These trips are extremely popular with the guests and are available from 8 years old upwards.
Smoking is permitted outside and at the bar.

The Messenia Region
The Peloponnese is an unknown jewel of Greece. The climate is gentler than many parts of Greece and winter rains create a wonderful green and lush countryside with rivers, lakes and waterfalls that run all year round. The searing temperatures found around Athens in August tend to be gentler here. The area has low-key tourism with wonderful local food and some of the best wines of Greece. There are high mountains inland, snow-capped until early summer- indeed there are two ski resorts in the Peloponnese. The West Coast has wonderful pine woods and vast beaches with sand dunes, the other coasts and inland areas have a huge range of plants and wild flowers, which carpet the olive groves up until mid May. The Peloponnese also has the most ancient Greek sites to be found in one area as it has played an important part in Greek history, Olympia is one of many wonderful sites in the area.
The Villas are near Kalamaki which is about 12 Km from Koroni, 6 Km from Petalidi and 3 Km from Chrani. There are many beaches, from long sandy sweeps to small coves of mixed sand and pebbles with great snorkelling. The whole of our peninsula has wonderful views with the sea on three sides and nearly always in view. There are many ancient sites, Olympia, Ancient Messini, Mystras and many more. There are also many Medieval castles in the area. All around the coast are really picturesque fishing towns and villages where holidaymakers can sit at the water's edge eating delicious food at very low prices and watching the fishing boats come and go. If you are looking for a trully relaxing holiday in a stunningly beautiful area of Greece that has changed little in the past 40 years then you will fall in love with Messinia and the Peloponnese. Many who come here return again year after year.

"The most stunning holiday villa with the best views and facilities in Greece!!"
Villa Elya is a really beautiful villa set in a large wonderful garden with lovely pool, olive groves, vineyard, fig trees and beautiful flowers. The villa is spacious and beautifully furnished and has every facility you need for a perfect holiday. The view from the terrace across the sea to the opposite coast line is truly stunning. We swam, played water volley ball- and boules in the evening- while Cliff served delicious iced coffee and cocktails and then enjoyed Quee's superb cooking, often using her home grown vegetables and salad. We also had a really wonderful day out on Quee and Cliff's yacht, sailing across the bay, stopping to swim and have lunch in a cove and were even encouraged to steer the boat! Villa Elya is a great location to go off and enjoy some quiet beaches, local tavernas and ancient sites. But it was actually a struggle to leave Villa Elya!
