Location description from owner

The England region

Perranporth is a busy village in the summer with a variety of shops and eating places. The village is just beside the large sandy surfing beach. Perranporth was the landing point for St Piran, the Patron Saint of Cornwall and of Tinners, who arrived from Ireland in the 7th Century. The village became a centre for tin mining and then boat building but is now one of Cornwall's premier holiday resorts and surfing destinations with 2 miles of sandy beaches surrounded by high cliffs and low sand-dunes. The beach is cleaned every day in the summer. The beach is lifeguarded throughout spring, summer and autumn.

Perranporth

The village hosts several good quality bars, pubs, cafe's, restaurants together with a good range of independent retailers, surf shops and surf schools. The Millennium Sundial on the headland shows Cornish time. The Millennium Sundial on the headland shows Cornish time, 20 minutes ahead of GMT – adding to the notion that you have to get up early to catch a Cornishman!

There's plenty to do in and around Perran if you get tired of the beach. Perranporth Golf Club with its renowned links course sits on the edge of the village and overlooks the beach. If horse riding is your thing, Reen Manor Stables offer riding excursions around Perran's wooded valleys or along the beach towards Ligger Point. Alternatively, take a walk along the coastal footpath to St Agnes and enjoy the rugged cliff scenery or head north taking in Holywell Bay, Porth Joke, Crantock, Pentire Head and on to Fistral Beach and Newquay. Or visit St Agnes Beacon with the iconic view of the Engine House with the rugged coast behind.

“Excellent accommodation, location & landlords!”

Reviewed 28 Aug 2016

Fantastic place to stay and we would definitely stay again! Jo and Nigel are very accommodating, welcoming and willing to offer help in any regard. We arrived early - no problem, we had need of surfboards - no problem, we had need of a hose to wash wetsuits - no problem. The Annex is spacious, light, airy and all three of us slept really well in very comfortable beds. Attention to detail is all important - from the scones, clotted cream and jam upon arrival (very yummy!) to the fully equipped kitchen, to the provision of basic necessities such as toilet rolls, tea, coffee & sugar as well as lovely finishing touches such as fresh flowers. All of the above made for a very comfortable and memorable stay. I also forgot to mention the off street parking and the fact that the property is only 5 minutes walk from the beach are huge pluses! Brilliant!

Thank you I am very pleased you enjoyed your stay.

“Fab location, great accommodation and superb surf.”

A well appointed and comfortable property. Superb location only a few minutes to shops and the great beach. On site parking a great bonus. Owners most friendly and helpful. Great place for surfers, walkers and those just wishing to have a relaxing holiday.
