Very Good

Reviewed 16 Sep 2018

Loved MV Ocean Warden. The best B&B we have ever stayed in. Location is great for the bus and train stations and getting around the far west of Cornwall (we were primarily walking the SW coast path). Also a great base for cycling with NCN 3 going past the door and plenty of space to store the bikes on the deck. Breakfast was all set out each morning and was very generous. Great place to relax on the deck and watch the world go by. Roger and Sue were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your review. We are happy you enjoyed your stay aboard the Ocean Warden and look forward to welcoming you back.

“Summer break”

Reviewed 1 Sep 2018

Highly recommended. This is the place to stay if you want fantastic service from lovely people. Beautiful views every day as you are not only by the harbour you are on it. Breakfast served by the invisible person every day did not hear it delivered but smelled it when you woke up. Perfectly placed for a lazy or action packed holiday for two, within easy walking distance of amenities and public transport so you don’t even need a car to make the most of the beauty surrounding you. Will return at some stage. Steve and Leeanne

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your great review, it is much appreciated. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and we would love to welcome you aboard again

“2 nights on the boat”

Reviewed 26 Aug 2018

I have always wanted to stay in a boat. This was a great oportunity to do so this summer when visiting Penzance. Everything was so nice and tidy. The shower, toilet and washbasin were beside our wonderful, cosy bedroom. There is even a flatscreen in the bedroom. The chest of drawers offers you enough space for your clothes...a little hanging space is behind a curtain. Breakfast is offered on a nice round table in the bright front of the ship.Sue and Roger prepare it early in the morning, so you can go out, drink some tea and have a look at the busy harbour and sailing boats. Then you may get hungry looking at the layed table with fresh fruit, yoghurt, ham and cheese, bread and the lovely smelling croissants!!! Sue and Roger are very helpful, too if you need any help... Roger gives you a hand with bringing up the suitcases, because the steps are quite steep. If you are on the way to the Scillies or to Mount St. Michael it's a good place for staying. It is only a short walk to town or to one of the near restaurants. The outside sitting place is relaxing in the evening. Then the people of the ferry have landed. We'll surely be back once again!

Owner's reply: Thank you for your wonderful review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay aboard the Ocean Warden.

“Fabulous Unique Holiday Experience!”

The location of the Ocean Warden was perfect, always something going on in the harbour. Sue and Roger were brilliant hosts, very thoughtful and cheery. The accommodation was really comfortable and the food was amazing (and so much of it). We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this holiday, we hope to return before too long. Thanks for a really happy holiday!

“A lovely holiday”

Reviewed 2 Sep 2016

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the Ocean Warden. The hosts are lovely folk, who ensured we were well catered for. The continental breakfast was great, with more than enough to keep even my tummy satisfied! And to be the only guests is also great. It's not suitable anyone who has difficulties with steps, as you need to climb up to the bridge deck. Once there though, it's a very different place to stay, and we loved it. We wanted something different for our anniversary, and this fitted the bill perfectly. Penzance is a great place to base for visiting Cornwall, and we were gifted lovely weather for our stay, so it was a win - win. :-) It's a working harbour, and the Scillonian ferry leaves from here, so you do get people coming on and off, but it was no inconvenience. In fact, if you take a trip across to the Scillies whilst down there, it's very nice to get up, have a nice lazy breakfast, and wander over to the ship knowing you've lots of time. Would be great to revisit. Thanks to Sue, Roger and Junior! (The lobster was lovely, thank you)!!

Owner's reply: Thanks for your lovely comments on your stay with us. We are pleased you left with happy memories and we look forward to welcoming you aboard once more. Regards, Sue.
