Time seems to stand still at La Durandie as the peace and quiet surrounds you. The 6x12 meter private salt water pool with 12 sun-loungers provides a perfect spot for cooling down, or for star gazing at night. The king-sized covered terrace with views over the valley plays host to most meals. Whether sipping a glass of wine on the terrace, drinking in the views over morning coffee in the garden or meditating to the sounds of water in the Japanese garden, we guarantee your relaxation! And coming in 2017, a Private Screening Room and a small In-House Gym, adds more options for stay-at-home days.

A large Games Room with table tennis, snooker, darts and boxes filled with all manner of board and ball games, ensure fun for young and old. Many a family tournament has been held in this games room. The large grassy field next to the Games Room can be set up with our goal posts as a soccer field, or a badminton court. And if quiet time on a swing is what you long for, we have that too.

With two fully equipped kitchens, visits to one of our many local farmer markets can easily be turned into dining feasts. And for those special occasions, our chef-on-call can come to prepare a special dinner for you based on regional specialties. If you would like to add a learning experience to your holiday, we can arrange painting lessons, cooking classes or wine tasting on site, or assist you to set up horse riding, sculling training or a guided tour through our local Roman ruins.

We are surrounded by rolling hills with prune orchards, sunflower fields and ancient churches, all being overlooked by medieval bastide walled cities. With the famous Cahors wines just up the road from us, there is something for everyone – from gardens to history, to children’s parks to wine to good food. Come and get reconnected to the good life!

This is what some of our previous visitors had to say: …“I’ve never been so relaxed in my life!”… “We had the most wonderful time and the house is absolutely magnificent, the beautiful setting, the facilities, the gardens and the whole ambiance of the house and peacefulness of the location is just what we all needed.”… “This is perfect for a peaceful escape!”…“The house is beautiful and the pool is fantastic. We spend a great week at La Durandie!”…

We look forward to welcoming YOU at La Durandie!

“Tranquility, Country charm, beautiful gardens, food for the soul.”

Reviewed 16 Jan 2016

A two hour drive from Toulouse brings one to the gates of the beautiful La Durandie gardens, the beautifully restored French stone homestead, an interesting fabulous garden and a breathtaking view of the valley below. The warm and friendly way I was treated on arrival made me feel instantly at home. Accommodation is impressive, as up to 14 people can stay there without feeling crowded . I stayed in a charming double bedroom with kitchen, bathroom Lounge and dining area, which opened up onto a wide deck with large table Where. Meals could be enjoyed. The hosts are extremely well I formed about the area and beyond, of where to go for restaurants and coffee shops, some of the most magnificent gardens in France!! Hosts will advise guests of drives which takes one to the most interesting, beautifully kept Medieval Towns and ancient ,magnificent architecture! Getting back to LaDurandie after a busy day, a refreshing swim in the lovely large pool, a cool glass of wine and local cheese to nibble on one is ready for a good night's rest in the peaceful and tranquil surroundings of LaDurandie.

Owner's reply: Thank you for the wonderful review! We are happy to hear that stay was a special experience and we look forward to having you back!

“A beautiful quiet spot”

Reviewed 7 Jan 2016

The accommodation was well kept en plenty of space for all of us (11 people). The rooms are spacious and clean, although we didn't need to be inside that often!! The garden and pool area are simply stunning with lavender and many other plants, which is even more surprising as the hot weather often kills the gardens of holiday homes! Not here as there were several 'secret spots'to read a book, play hide and seek or enjoy the smells. The pool is large and refreshing! You will need to drive a little to get to the local shop for food, etc. The top floor of the house is for private use only, which was a surprise when we arrived, but not a problem. Communication with the owner and the people who look after the place was very good during the stay, but also when we arrived, as you will need to read the instructions carefully! We went to the neighbour's farm when we arrived, but were pointed in the right direction by them! A lovely peacefull spot to enjoy a beautiful holiday and with plenty to see and do in the area.

Owner's reply: Thank you! We are very glad to hear that you had a good time and that you enjoyed our garden as much as we do. We hope we will see you soon again! And yes, it can be an interesting experience to find us which is why we are now giving even better detailed written and electronic directions, plus a help line to guide our guests through the back lanes!

“Explore French Country Side from stylish luxury or just enjoy being”

Early in the season, the weather was pleasant and we sat for hours around the lovely family table on the veranda, listening to the birds, enjoying the sunshine. The well kept garden brought piece after a busy trip and created a relaxing, restful experience. On more energetic days we made a round trip on our bicycles, visiting nearby villages to experience fresh baked bread, cheese and wine. Walking through the forest to the nearby Chapel or visiting castles and wine shops and the local farmers market in close driving proximity rounded off our stay! It was lovely indeed and I can still feel the calmness it brings to my soul...

Owner's reply: Thank you Mathilda - so glad you enjoyed your stay. It was lovely hosting you at La Durandie and we hope to welcome you again soon!
