A former working farmhouse which has been tastefully and professionally converted by the owner into 5 high specification and self-contained apartments catering for 2-18 persons. These are suitable for all year use as they enjoy full central heating. We also provide free, fast optic fibre wi-fi to all areas. Both the lower courtyard garden and the upper garden, where the communal swimming pool is located, have been designed by a local landscape gardener and include planters and paved areas utilising stone from local quarries. There are also citrus and olive trees. There is a large lawned area on the upper garden, ideal for relaxing and soft play. A further feature of the upper garden is a living olive tree relic estimated to be 600 years old, which has been carefully cordoned off by the building of a half circular stone wall and surrounded with greenery. Both the upper and lower gardens enjoy mood enhancing night-time illumination. There is a large barbecue of typical Portuguese design

This area enjoys an abundance of inexpensive family orientated restaurants and many places of interest. Although the location is a peaceful rural one, we have the advantage of being very close to the major road links which provide easy access for travelling to places such as Porto, Lisbon, Tomar Coimbra,Fatima, Obidos, Peniche and Aveiro. Some of the best beaches of the West coast of Portugal are within an easy 50 minute journey by road. We are also fortunate to have two main train stations close to us at Coimbra and Pombal with a good reliable inexpensive train network to take you all over Portugal and into Spain.

The Central Portugal region

The village of Cumieira is in a rural setting but it is not isolated as it is a few minutes from major road links such as the IC8, IC3, A1, A13 and A17 which will take you all over Portugal and Europe.

Both the train stations at Pombal and Coimbra B. are within a 30 minute drive.

Here you can get fast links with Porto. Lisbon, Tomar, Aveiro, Fatima, the Algarve and all over Portugal and into Spain.

Some of the best beaches on Portugals West coast are within a comfortable hours drive from your apartment.

Penela

Cumieira, is a typical slow pace rural village in Central Portugal and has a very real community feel about it….

It shows Portuguese people and families in their best light.

In many ways it takes you back in time to a world of yesteryear where people had time for others, where people would stop and help you if they could, a world where children are polite well mannered and respectful.

In an ideal world we would like change over days to be at the weekends, but we have to be realistic and flexible to cater for availability of flights, rates and so on. The same flexibility applies to booking in and departing times and theres absolutely no reason why you can't book in earlier if the apartment is ready for you, conversely if there is no form of time pressure on your apartment we are happy for you to depart when you are ready.
